Loved it at the first listen and yet it keeps growing on me, especially the slower songs, like 東京.

Now that November is here, let's see what cool stuff is coming this month...
Keytalk's major debut single - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5icN4ISebN8
another sunnyday's new album - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLpZvAYikAA
Perfume's new single
Suck a Stew Dry's new EP - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8qbpswod64
Sakanaction's new DVD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeQcwlG6nv0
the telephones's new single - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yArjZZKt7YA
The Dresscodes's new album - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6jznp-ouxE
Uminote's new mini-album - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OaMLbvMv24

And... seems like that's pretty much it for me.

It covers only a tiny fraction of what comes up in this thread, but I've been working on a Hello! Project database for the last six months-ish. At first I was just trying to make a table of S/mileage songs, lyricist/composer/arranger data, and which singles/albums/editions they appeared on; but I quickly realized it would be much easier to sort in various ways and show the subset of data desired by making it a database, and it's gone on from there.

KP meets KPP.

Pretty cool, actually. :D

The b-side to the new MomoClo single is composed by miwa, lyrics by her and the members. Was waiting for this after all their collabs!

Well, Gounn is the Japanese name for the Buddhist concept of Skandha - the five aggregates: matter, sensation, perception, impulses, conciousness. While the world on top of a turtle seen in the video is usually connected to hinduism the two religions have a a history of cross-pollination in Japan. At least one of the members of MomoClo attends a shrine for worship and the group has touched on buddhist themes and shintoist themes earlier, in Amenotajikarao for example: http://jhlui1.wordpress.com/2013/02...-no-tachikara-o-lyrics-translated-to-english/

Or alternatively: Lots of nice colors, very funky costumes , good fun.

Holy shit. That was far more explanation than I expected. You are quite knowledgeable about them. Thanks for the response.

Makes for some fun variation in terms of 'concepts' anyway. Of course it also makes English translations a little messy

I want to meet you, the journey is beyond eternity
In some respects, all worldly things are transient, some things never change

Persevere, persevere, the ore is piled up
Broken into fragments, it has tumbled down, it is the cause of failing to reach enlightment

One hundred deceptive demons are jeering with loud laughter, loud laughter

A genuine miracle is result of good karma
It’s not a miracle if you are guided within yourself with an unknown power

I’ve always wanted to meet you with that wondrous synchronicity
Connecting into the depths of the soul, emotions swelling, palms of your hands, the scent of nectar

Shambhala, rushing in, single-mindedly
A cruel demon travels over an unfortunate town
With the heart running riot, Amanojaku are shown purification, an Ominous Spectre

It’s okay, you can do it alone
That’s because I want you to know to keep at a distance

In these times, you should rely on being without hatred
I want to see the form of not being broken

And so, like this, like this, we’re called out to and charmed by it
Even without Heaven and Earth, can a loving state of mind get you to soar?

A voice asks a question that same night, jeering with sounds of many footsteps
To emotions being torn to pieces, the name is not yet set
Things like Love and Friendship, entirely cross over, all together

I want to meet you, with the path of the water lily in some respects
Connecting into the depths of the soul, whirling emotions, wanting to come and purify them

Someday it will end, that is the case of Destiny being heard
The prosperous must decay but refusing, I want to become my own incarnation

A genuine miracle is result of good karma
It’s not a miracle if you are guided within yourself with an unknown power

For the sake of becoming aware, we are pushed into a river of upheaval
All living beings are livings things of a Mandala, sending words of prayer, of wishes are enveloped with gratitude

Shambhala, rushing in, single-mindedly
A cruel demon invites that path, the path of evil

The entrance is one difficult of walking
The exit is not
It’s not deceiving
An Ominous Spectre

キノコ帝国(Kinoko Teikoku)
This is the band I've been listening to for the longest out of the three bands, and the one I was most excited to see. They completely surpassed my expectations. This was the first time I had seen a Shoegaze band perform live, and what a fresh experience it was! The way they played with not only their instruments, but the reverb and effects was mind blowing. There was part of their last song in which they all turned around, walked towards their amps, and stood their as a really intense spotlight shot from behind them. All we could see were the silhouettes of the band while this insane reverb shot through the speakers. They stood still for a while, and I kind of lost track of time. It was a completely new experience for me, and I loved it. They played a phantasmagoric show, and they played a bunch of songs that I knew. Sadly, they didn't play my favorite one, but I was still quite satisfied!

la la larks
So, this was the band we originally bought the tickets to see. Kinoko Teikoku wasn't added to the list until a few weeks later, and it was an great surprise. With the former singer of School Food Punishment and the guitarist of lost in time, they put on one hell of a show. Before they played, they were sound checking all the instruments, and the guy trying out the guitar really impressed me. I was saying to my friend that I wished he was playing... and then he turned out to be their guitarist. What an inspiration he was. This was an awesome concert because I had only heard two demo songs that were on youtube before. la la larks actually don't have an album released, so they were almost entirely new songs to me. Their songs seem more varied than School Food Punishment, and a bit more like Prog Rock. I cannot clearly express how impressed I was. One of the most awesome bands I've ever seen perform in my life, truly.

UNCHAIN
I only heard a few songs from this band before seeing them, and I was not too impressed. Unfortunately, their guitars were obviously (at least to me) out of tune. They hurt my ears... This band is super funky, and they have a lot of energy, but they don't have the raw skill that either of the bands before them had. We left early when the guitarists played a harmonized riff, and I felt like my head was going to explode. Still fun, though!

Just a heads up, Sakanction's Sakanaquarium 2013 DVD is out next week. I don't own any of their DVD's but I have seen Sakanaquarium 2011 which is great.

I've spent pretty much all my money for November on ordering the Shiina Ringo 15th anniversary Blu-Rays.

Yasutaka Nakata of Capsule (who's also Perfume's producer) collabrated with her on this and produced it.

So yeah, JPopGAF should dig this a lot. I think this is just a teaser of the full song in the video.

Jpop GAF should dig her anyway! :p But yeah, I can't get over how good the song and PV are.

I have the Sakanaquarium 2011 DVD, and yeah it's really great. It's that DVD that made me realise how good this band was, and I became a big fan thanks to it.
Still on the fence about that new DVD though, I'll buy it later.

Forgot to post about it :lol
These guys keep on releasing so many solid songs, really impressive. Can't think of one song that I don't like. Their album one and zero was quite amazing.

Anyways, lately I've been on a Supercar kick.
Futurama is pretty much a flawless album from start to finish. The song Yumegiwa Last Boy on the album Highvision is a masterpiece...
So good.
The two remix albums released in 2011 are also worth checking out, the Rollin' Rollin' remix is awesome.

I watch it weekly. It's basically like AKBINGO if it were always a Muchaburi Dodgeball episode. NOGIBINGO was also in that same vein.

Really? I'd say the best thing she's ever done, Kuki, is from her solo catalog

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SI3N2Rxh_E

So good.

Anyway, here's the full video for her collaboration with Nakata

The full video is amazing, I love Jihen but I much prefer her solo work. Hopefully we'll get a new album next year. Also, my Ringo Blu-rays arrived this morning. :)

Ukina is a good collaboration album but apart from the 2 new songs, I've heard everything before. I'm really liking Mitsugetsu Shou, great live album.

My favourite Ringo song is probably either Yami ni furu ame or Gamble.
