Czecho No Republic played at Tower Records today!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It was so awesome!!
They played Neverland, Music, Rainbow, Dinosaur, and finished with Eternal.

They're really good about getting the audience to participate, and they have a lot of energy! They played a special version of Rainbow in which Mai, the female singer/keyboard player, was the lead vocalist. Her voice is seriously gorgeous when she's in the spotlight. Everyone shouted out "Hey!" when they were playing Neverland, and there was a lot of clapping along with the music.

Mai also talked at the end about how her favorite part of the show was seeing everyone's faces, and it made her really happy. She then took a picture on her iPad of the band with all of us in the background. She seemed so genuinely happy about how many people came to see them play. She's a sweet girl.

Anyway, awesome show! They crack jokes, they smile, and they obviously love playing.

Honestly I never doubted it. Their music is so sweet and happy, I can't imagine them not being like this.

For some reason I've been listening a lot to bands from the '90s-early'00s lately such as:
Quruli - http://youtu.be/9osrk5jXCUY http://youtu.be/nWflkYHr8yM
Thee Michelle Gun Elephant - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIJyZMQShwg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29RW81Dql_c
Blankey Jet City - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pllsbIN_H8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw0jVlCKsm8
the pillows - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtDhGuEGgyc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PxraLHOZrc
Syrup16g - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_ovGYsQedc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29rRjPnMq3E

It sounds weird but I feel nostalgic for this era, even though I was too young. There's just something in these songs that makes me feel this way...

Great bands. I'm mostly a big fan of Thee Michelle Gun Elephant (ever since I saw the film adaptation of Aoi Haru in High School) and Syrup16g. I used to listen to The Pillows a lot when I was in middle school, though.

I thought of you when I saw Czecho No Republic today! I wish you could have seen them, too, honestly.
Also, Kurita, I seriously can't wait for you to see lots of Japanese bands. Music obviously means a lot to you, too. I think I'm going to cry when I see certain bands...

Well, I felt really emotional when I saw Perfume and ONE OK ROCK (my gf cried but she's a bit of a fangirl so... :lol) this year.
Dunno how I'll react if I ever see the HIATUS live though, since Takeshi Hosomi (the leader) is like a demigod to me. It's because of him and his former band, Ellegarden, that I like music this much now so...
Same goes for Straightener and Nothing's Carved In Stone.

Awh, that's so sweet!
I look forward to reading about your experiences at those concerts, one day. :)
I will probably cry when I see Winnie. Although I've listened to Versailles for many years, when I see Jupiter next month, I probably won't cry. I'll likely be too busy headbanging.

The new PLASTICZOOMS album is surprisingly good. It ain't no Charm, but again we are talking about one of the best albums last decade.

Do any of you listen to a lot of Japanese DJs and Electronic music?
I'm looking for more Japanese Electro House (my favorite Electronic subgenre).

On another note; The new MiChi Albums is pretty good. I don't know if I can say that its better than THERAPY, but its certainly different. Whereas THERAPY was highly produced electro Pop with a lot of European influence, this one is more subdued Lo-Fi pop outing which could very well be compared to a lot of Indie pop song-writers such as Lady Lamb the Beekeeper or even Veronica Falls (yes, I can't mention any popular names since I don't know any). I can formulate my final opinion of it since I haven't listen to it a lot but I would say my first impressions is about 7.

Oh and the great surprise of the year comes from the new Mini Album by Kyusonekokami and holy shit what a release. Fucking amazing synthetic punk outing with a lot of Powerpop influence with a bit of Twee pop touch here and there. Its full of character, not to mention the lyrics are absolutely amazing (from my limited knowledge of the language) and definite 9 so far.

Not to mention that it has the best Album title of the year and simply named : We are Indies band. Bloody amazing.

Listening to SHISHAMO's debut album. It's quite good. Kind of similar to Chatmonchy, though I'd say SHISHAMO is less pop-ish.
And they're pretty young, all three members were born in 1994, just like me :lol

Was about to post about this. The two singles are great. The album tracks can't quite match that level, I think, but it's highly enjoyable and the vocalist is great.

Speaking of debut album I'll repeat for the nth time that the tricot album is a MASTERPIECE. I've listened to it, what, a hundred times? And I still sometimes stop what I'm doing and literally shake my head beause of how good a song sounds, how well thought out every detail and melodic twist is.

That's really good. It reminds me a little of Negoto, which is also quite good.

I agree. And every single time I listen to any of the songs, I discover a little detail that makes the song more amazing than it already was.

New Tamurapan PV which is titled the same as the new album which is coming next month '' Love and Pain'' is typical Tamurapan. Playful, happy, avant-garde and weird pop rock/ indie pop music.

Really can't wait for the album. Its gonna be the best album that month
in my opinion, suck it RADWIMPS

Also, Suck a Stew Dry just released an album today (or tomorrow) and their PV seemed nice. Since I am looking for another band to collect all their album, this band seems to have similar trait to BYEE the ROUND whom I really really love. A bit too emo for my liking, but I'll try the album at first before I acquire it. Love the base line, but the guitar play could have gone a bit wilder.

Not to mention, their record label is the same as other bands/groups I really adore such as CHARISMA.COM and TELEPOTE so I have developed a little trust towards their selections.

Telepote; GURU - GURU

Not much stuff coming next month for me...
Radwimps, Kinoko Teikoku, Hello Sleepwalkers and White Ash. That's it I think.
Oh and Gesu no Kiwami Otome.

Yeah, a song for the movie Judge, but that's in January and there's no single announced.

Nope, for a national test program. And no, not as an official single. You do know that Aoi was released as a ''single'', right?

granted, there is no official date, but the rumor has it that there is a strong possibility that it might be out in December since it might coincide with the Japanese high School tests

Oh that song... Maybe. Well that's just a digitally released thing then, can't really call that a single.
Whatever :lol

To be fair, its my bad since I was the one who called it a single. andywya, they could just release it digitally...

I do wonder if their next release is a new full album or a compilation?

Hopefully it's a new album. Though I guess they could do a compilation in 2014, and a new album in 2015.

This seems like something Kurita might like.
Their debut EP comes out in December.

Not bad, but not a fan either.

I should receive Keytalk's major debut single tomorrow. Can't wait.
For some reason I felt "proud" when they announced their major debut.
Been following them for a couple of years, so I'm happy to see that they'll get more exposure... Obviously I grabbed the limited edition. :3

You all need to listen to Otoboke Beaver (おとぼけビーバー) immediately. Love me Sign their album is one of my favorites on the year. If you're into shit like Skirt no Naka then you should love them.

SEKAI NO OWARI finally released a music video for their song Death Disco, which was released a few weeks ago.

I just love that song so much. It has a chaotic, dark yet whimsical tune.

Grabbed Brahman's latest album on iTunes.
Jesus, these guys are still so good. If you like highly energetic, emotional punk rock I assume you already know them since they're a pretty big band.
And if you don't, well, enjoy :

Do you guys know amazarashi? They're an alternative/experimental (I guess) rock band.
The majority of their songs are so beautiful, with a powerful and emotional voice. Most of the songs have slow build-ups and just explode during the chorus for a fantastic result that often gives goose bumps.
They released a new mini-album recently and it's pretty amazing.

Tenniscoats releases are getting harder and harder to purchase. They released a boxset of old/side project material (very good), another collaboration with a sort-of-well-known Estonian band (just good), a Schole compilation track (excellent), and a single with a weird physical release called Iso Phase. It's absolutely lovely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpmPwkmwtYM

I know people are lukewarm on the song and adore the video, but I think both might be the best Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's ever done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bFHzDa9U9w (I still can't believe he does Perfume, Capsule, and her.)

I'm looking for more Japanese Electro House (my favorite Electronic subgenre).

I was going to recommend this, anyway! Y.M.C.K. is fun and all, but I think Nuxx is the best electro group in Japan. https://soundcloud.com/#nuxx_jp/rise-up-extended-mix-short-ver Rise Up is scorching and is their latest. Born To Walk is classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVWdjJYUW-E

That said, I think Japan does (instrumental) hip-hop better.

Oh god the B-Side. So good. The instrumental version sounds a lot like CAPS LOCK.
