Jared's defense blames Subway sandwiches for his pedophilia- He still gets 15 years

The Subway sandwich chain’s ex-pitchman, Jared Fogle, was slammed with a ​​15-year, 8-month sentence on child porn charges Thursday, after a hearing in which his shrinks blamed his more than 200-pound weight loss for turning him “hyper-sexual.”

Jared Fogle, omnipresent spokesperson for Subway after losing 235 pounds eating turkey and vegetable sandwiches, quickly became the object of shocked ridicule when he was charged with receiving child pornography and traveling across state lines to participate in illicit paid sex with a minor. How could America’s favorite sandwich-lover be so villainously sick?

Because of the sandwiches, his defense reportedly argued in court. It was all because of the sandwiches.

In the trial, the Indianapolis Star reports that forensic psychiatrist John Bradford testified by phone that Fogle’s rapid weight loss is what led to his criminal desires:

“Once he lost weight, it seemed as though in a short time he had hyper-sexuality,” Bradford said. “There are brain disorders that can be associated with sexual drive.”

Bradford also downplayed the extent of Fogle’s pedophilia.

“He was mostly attracted to females who were teenagers, who were 14 to 17 years of age. His attraction was at the high end of that range.”

Bradford called Fogle’s pedophilia “mild pedophilia.”

“There’s no evidence I know that he molested a child... 16- or 17-year-olds are not pre-pubertal children.”

In cross-examination, prosecutor Steve DeBrota asked if “mild pedophilia” was a term used by other experts (Bradford said it wasn’t), and if it was just a term he invented to “provide scaling to the word pedophilia?” Bradford said it was.

From what I gathered following this Scandal ... that's bullshit. He was apparently trying to get the Subway woman who was secretly working with the FBI to put spy cams in the rooms of her 12 yo daughter and 13 son's rooms. She also says he told her he fucked a 9 yo. And apparently the child porn on his comp was of kids as young as 6.
The pornography viewed by Fogle included images of children as young as 6, the prosecution has said. Fogle, 38, is the father of two children under the age of 5. Prosecutors have said there is no evidence he abused his own kids.

Fogle possessed over 600 photos and videos of child porn, much of it provided for him by co-defendant Russell Taylor, former head of Fogle’s foundation. Taylor, who cooperated in the investigation and has yet to be sentenced, would tape his young family members and their friends for Fogle, prosecutors have said.

Prosecutors have requested that Fogle receive 12 1/2 years, while his defense has asked for five years. His official sentencing is scheduled for Thursday in Indianapolis.

In trial, Fogle reportedly sobbed as he recounted how he’d hurt his family and his wife, who would be a single mother should he go to prison.

“You gave your wife $7 million,” the judge interrupted, “so she’ll be okay.”

Defense attorneys say crazy shit during sentencing. Anything to try to persuade the judge to give the lightest possible sentence. In this case 5 years was the mandatory minimum sentence so clearly it didn't work.

You know, he probably would've gotten the minimum 5, MAYBE 9-12 years if he just owned up to everything with no bullshit. But after having to hear that defense, yeah I'd tell him to get fucked, too. Because even IF what the judge did was wrong in any way (doubt it) and he did it to prove a point, no one is going to touch this case again. Shit's done.

I'm baffled that Subway and Jimmy Johns blew up while Quizno's is basically dead.

Quizno's is a billion times better than both of them combined.
