Been rumored for a long time, but be posted today that they called him about Lobo.

I feel the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow miniseries comic works fine with enough material to cover a whole film, I don’t need Lobo in it quite frankly. If he HAS to be in the film, then hopefully the writers understand he’s meant to be a parody of generic 90’s Rob Liefeld-style characters (obnoxious, rude, one-dimensional, and the sort of person you’re impatiently waiting for another character to beat the snot out of) rather than an actual interesting badass. The problem is the tone of that particular Supergirl comic doesn’t really fit with that sort of character, hopefully it’s a brief appearance and they’re saving him for a bigger role in a more fitting project.

I wonder how he factors into the story. Maybe Lobo is doing some bounty hunting and is also on the trail of Krem. Or if it's more of a cameo maybe Ruthye goes to him first to ask for help before she finds Supergirl.

I need to reread the comic, but from my memory of one issue, I could see something like this happening:

(Krem is preparing his secret devices)
Henchman: So how does this thing work, boss?
Krem: So when Supergirl and that little brat show up, I toss one of these at them, and they’ll be sent flying to some random planet anywhere in the universe. That’ll buy us some time.
Henchman: Won’t the Kryptonian lady just dodge it?
Krem: Nah, not this thing. It’s insanely fast. But I’ve only got two of them, so I can’t waste them, you hear? Now, wait, what the hell is that?
(they spot Lobo approaching them on his space bike at top speed)
Lobo: Aw yeah, you kids better get those tears going now, because the Main Man is here to collect some sweet bounties! Hahaha!!!
(Krem’s henchman grabs one of the devices and hurls it at Lobo)
Lobo: Hahaha, uh, whoa, HEY, WHAT THE FU-
(Lobo is teleported away)
Krem: ……
Henchman: ……
Krem: All right, so I’ve only got ONE of these, so WE can’t waste them, you hear?!

Deadpool and Wolverine made 1.3 billion dollars, and I don’t remember anyone falling over in confusion when you-know-who appeared as a different Marvel character than the one they’re most well known for playing. Even people I’ve seen reacting to it who hadn’t seen the older films where he played his other Marvel character caught on to what was happening pretty quick.

Unless you are just flat out insulting the so-called casuals’ intelligence, they’ll be just fine. The concept of an actor playing a different role in another continuity is hardly complex.

I dont follow superhero stuff like this, but everyone knows Momoa had a few Aquaman movies. But I dont understand why Momoa's Aquaman is not part of DCU. Is it some alternate universe thing?

So if somehow they criss cross, they'd have to just pick a different actor to play Aquaman?

The DCEU ended last year with Aquaman 2 and Ocean Master eating a roach burger.



Superman is a reboot of the whole DC universe.

You give them far too much credit. The DCEU wasn't that long ago. And Gunn is insisting on keeping some parts of it alive.

Nah, they won't just obliterate the DCEU from existence. They will make it another timeline or universe. That's how it has worked since the beginning of comic books.

I don’t know this character. I know it means wolf because I had a remote control car called a lobo as a kid.

Not huge on the antihero.

Yeah, I've never read a comic with this character so I don't really care. But Momoa is fun so I'm looking forward to it.

The only Lobo I really care about:
