A Dead Space reboot is happening if Jeff Grubb is to be believed (by principle don't, it's just a rumor remember).

Anyway, he talk about this since the beginning of this year but refused to elaborate at this time, saying "Motive is working on a game based on a know IP from EA that will make people happy"
Now he clearly state Motive first game is, indeed, Dead Space.

Jeff also mentioned in the video that other people at ResetEra for example has started hinting about this.
By other, he is definitely talking about Shinobi602 and Jez from Windows Central - both of them heavily hinted two weeks ago at a new Dead Space being in development.

For a company that is ginormous with a huge campus in Burnaby (which they'd brag about with promotional videos including their big mocap building), you'd think the games they make would be upper tier.

I don't find their games any better than anyone else's.

To me, the only thing that really sticks out from them as a big plus is having tons of sports licensed games for decades.

I love the first two titles. I replayed the second recently and it doesn't really hold up all that real. It has a lot of moments we all remember (eye poke) but the level design was much more of a haunted house thrill ride than I recall. I'd love to see Gunner Wright back, but if they decide to reboot the franchise I just want it to follow the same model as Jedi Fallen Order did and make it a complete single player experience from day one with no DLC. I LOVE Vanillaware but the reason I like Dead Space because it VERY well made 3rd person survival horror.

Vanillaware's specialty is hand painted 2D games, is not exactly fit for Dead Space.

The game should be closer to the first 2 than the third game.

That shit was so bad it didnt even feel like a Dead Space game.
