First tragedy, then farce.
Holy shit this guy will not job to anyone, its getting stupid. Monty Brown hits the pounce AND a guitar shot on JJ for a fucking two count. Then JJ comes back with the worlds lamest finisher (a fucking LEG SWEEP FOR CHIRST SAKE?) for the pin...

the Ultimate X match was the only thing worth watching. Petey hit a Frankensteiner off the top of the X onto Sabin who was ON AJ's shoulders. CRAZY SPOT... this thing turned into a shit crazy spotfest pretty quickly and kept it for the duration.. and AJ picked up the strap.. which I guess is ok, but he should be ME'ing.

Jeff Jarrett's title reign is one big reason TNA will not be around much longer. They have a chance to make the title mean something in people's minds, but instead they keep it on Jeff like it is stuck to him with Super Glue. They build up someone only to have them fall to Jeff. It isn't like Jeff is some huge monster or hugely over.

No. The problem with ROH is that not everyone is as capable as the Benoits and Angles of putting on five star psychological masterpieces. When you have people who aren't capable of that attempting it... well, let's just say that it leaves something to be desired. Granted, some of ROH's best guys put on great matches... but then again, those guys are Daniels, Styles, etc. And they're in TNA now.

London was awesome in ROH... he honestly needs to be in the X division at TNA.. the WWE is misusing him horribly.

They DIDN'T give it to Monty?

JJ will NEVER BE OVER. He's a perpetual midcard player that's been handed the keys to the kingdom - God help anyone who actually thinks NWA-TNA is a viable alternative. AJ Styles, Raven, and Monty aside, there's no reason at all for anyone to watch this show. Vince must be killing himself laughing as his former IC champ runs this so-called "rival" promotion into the ground.

What absolute bullshit. *spits in disgust*

edit: and who did Watts blow in order to get PPV time? arrrrgh my brain

that shit was worth tuning in to just to watch Scott Hall wrestle in an Elvis costume though.

edit: Btw, who was that Watts guy? he looked familia. Was he one of Raven's henchmen during his WCW stint? Raven needs to hit the gym, too.

God, he's still using the gay ass guitar? The thing looks like its made out of cardboard. Well thats probably because it is. It's funny seeing 300 pound guys jobbing to a guitar, and when it busts you see how thin it is.

Wasn't Monty Brown a NFL player?

Edit: Remember Jeff Jarrett's 'I hate women' phase in the WWF :lol :lol :lol

He was a jobber in WCW. Then again, so was most of the TNA roster.

My friend and I ordered this tonight. It had its moments (Ultimate X and the tag match), but a whole lot of it was filler. Oh, and sorry guys. I'm one of the people who wanted Jeff to beat Monty Brown.

Please Styles wouldnt be in the top 10 for ring work in ROH. He can pull moves off as well as anyone but the guy wouldnt know the first thing about psychology or selling. Give me Low-Ki, CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Alex Shelley, Bryan Danielson, Homicide, either Briscoe Brother, either Havana PittBull, James Gibson(Noble), or Spanky over AJ. He's right at home in spotmonkey land known as the X-division. I WANT DANIELS BACK THOUGH.

And any one of those guys could go toe to toe with Eddie, Angle, or Benoit without having to be carried.

Most of those guys have dick all for charisma, though. And that matters. It's what makes great ring technicians into superstars. It's why Dean Malenko never got over as anything other than a lowercard guy even though he was superior in every technical way to Chris Jericho. What did Jericho have? Charisma.

I'm sorry you are satisfied with a faceless, charismaless army of talented yet simultaneously boring guys. Although Low-ki and Alex Shelley are awesome, and Punk had potential but ran his stupid ass mouth when he should have shut up.

And Styles can't sell? You're deluded. Perfect example was the match tonight. Petey Williams fucked up his arm in a sweet ass spot on the Ultimate X frame, then Sabin countered a Clash attempt into a badass triangle hold on the same arm. Styles eventually did a modified clash to get out of it, but when he tried to shimmy on the rope to the belt, he couldn't hold on due to the injury. Yeah. He doesn't sell or use psychology, though. You're totally right. I can think of like four other matches where opponents have worked body parts consistently over on AJ and he's sold it like a champ. You obviously just want to hate him, so go ahead and keep doing it. You're wrong, though. Styles is one of the five best guys working in any fed today.

Brian: You forgot DOUG... who is fucking awesome as well.

I'm sorry, Raoul, butI think you are missing some thing here. Granted, I cannot change your taste or your opinion, but, the reason why ROH is great is because of the wrestling. Go to a show... go to many shows... you will be entertained which is MORE than I can say for anything the WWE puts out nowadays and.. yes... even TNA.

The fact that some of ROH's superstar have/are wrestling for TNA is actually a moot point. Many wrestlers wrestle in multiple organizations... Daniels and Styles wrestled for a while in both organizations... Steve Carino wrestled in 3-4 multiple organizations and I know Doug Williams spreads his time between the US and Great Britain (and these are only a few examples).

Although I agree with you about the charisma aspect of wrestling... the ROH doesn't need it. For one, the lines are so blurry as to who a heel or face is that it allows someone to cheer for the wrestler they feel is awesome simply because of their abilities in the ring. Excellent concept! This is possible because of (2.) the fact that charisma need not play a part in ROH because there are no "locker room" promos feeded to the crowd during a show. I'm not proposing that I'm a hardcore fan of ROH... but I have been to quite a few shows and it seems that there is an equal diacotomy of those that follow the storylines and those that do not... i.e. there are plenty of people there more interested in the quality of the matches and who is facing whom (like me). In this aspect I feel they are tremendously successful... the shows could be a bit shorter but I have never not been entertained or satisfied after leaving a show.

Brian's list of wrestlers within ROH is an excellent one... and you will find them on every ROH card you go to. He didn't mention, however, the celebs that gravitate to ROH from time to time. Raven was in the organization for awhile, James E. Cornette supports the ROH as does Piper and Folley. Even Steamboat has made an appearance... for what ROH is right now... it's truly entertaining.

Bottom line is *I* would much rather go to an ROH show than watch any of the shit that I've witnessed lately on National TV.

(And Styles can sell :) He's awesome.)

Man I was all fired up with a Loki-length missive defending AJ, but Raoul took care of it for me. Thx dude

ROH sucks balls. No one in that fed wrestles like they want to win the match. They wrestle like they want to put you in holds and set you up for contrived technical spots. Very few people that have ever wrestled there have had any sort of fire in their eyes to be anything but a bland everyman that knows how to wrestle. This is why Benoit is successful without any real charisma while the rest of these guys are still in ROH getting no attention outside of ROH.

Until ROH fires up their guys to actually wrestle like they want to WIN the match so that I have a reason to watch and get excited for the match rather than watching them grabass for 10-30 minutes, I won't care.

Oh, and Liu, you have no idea what you're talking about. Please give me some specific examples where ROH wrestlers wrestle like they don't want to win? Aside from various undercard matches, most of ROH is top-notch. They routinely put on some of the most exciting, well-worked main events in the entire country.

I think ROH is a great fed. Its sorta like the classical station on your radio though.. you know its technically better and the wrestlers are much better in the ring, but its still not as much fun as watching the WWE, as bad as some of their wrestlers are.

TNA is like the indy radio station.. a whole lot of shit and a few good performers that people pretend to like so that they can thumb their nose at people who like the WWE.

You must have only seen Matt Stryker, Chad Collyer, and Nigel McGuinness wrestle or something cuz all the guys I named kick the living shit out of each other. Either that or you think punching and kicking for 9/10 of a match like they do in the WWE is the only way to "try to win a match".
