When the generation launched, Xbox fans were like "this is our time for revenge" by:
- making fun of PS5 design
- being confident Series X power and quick resume would make a big difference + smart delivery and game pass of course
- with all the acquisitions and showcases that the upcoming game catalog would be huge

And that the overall result would be a more balanced result and Xbox starting to catch up to PS in terms of sales. And we went back from "Microsoft doesn't care about sales anyway" to stuff like this

I fear that as gamers, we can only lose if Xbox "dies."
I don't quite understand why anyone wants that, let alone celebrates it.

Competition stimulates business, makes corporations work harder, and ideally, focus on customers and their needs.
I don't know about you, but I would definitely want that. I fear that with a dying Xbox brand, the chances of that happening are significantly lower.

It doesn't come with more value for the consumer. Old ass ubisoft games and fortnite crew 'who gives AF besides kids'. If a kid wants to play fortnite then he'll just play fortnite and subscribe to fortnite crew without using gamepass. Fortnite people who've subscribed to fortnite crew already won't give two craps about gamepass either.

I don't think it justifys the increase IMO but it is something. I get Ultimate through my mobile contract so it doesn't affect me but I'm well aware it's not cheap anymore but the amount of content is undeniable. Problem is with the cost of development increasing the only option is to charge more be it a subscription service like this or standalone game prices.

Shit loads, but would have to go back 5 years lol.

My personal favourite was the meltdowns over an engineer of Epic saying that he was running the UE5 engine demo on a laptop with a samsung NVME. There were people losing their minds calling him a liar and that he had to be running a video file of the PS5 demo, when he was talking about FPS etc. Fast forward a few years and we all know that the unreal engine demo could run on anything.

More recently on Era, in the Activision acquisition thread, they banned and deleted posts of people criticizing the acquisition and they tried feeding people the idea it will be good for the industry.
