I think it's important to note that it isn't just what's been cut out, but overall tone and how it doesn't really match what Araki set out to accomplish. It was fine back when people's only experience with the franchise was the PS1 game, but now that we have an adaptation that isn't only faithful in content but also presentation, it might feel "off" to some people. Sure, the animation is A LOT better, but the nagging suspicion that "this isn't JoJo" could appear at the back of your mind. Even with the switch from Ripple to Stands, it never lost what made it fun in the first place. The OVAs do.
Of course, I'd be lying if I wasn't a bit biased since they cut out one of my favorite fights in the franchise

. Still, I think all of this is something people should keep in mind if they choose to watch the OVAs.
