Jon Jones tests positive for steroids after UFC 214, title stripped

Has anyone taken a bigger shit on their legacy than Jon Jones? He could have gone down as the greatest to ever do it and all he be remembered for is doing coke and steroids.

Someone like Ali had his prime years taken from him due to racism...Jon Jones could have been the greatest combat sports fighter of all time and no one will remember him for anything beyond the hookers, dui, cocaine and steroids.

He has long been wanting to go into heavyweight. He would have made money with the Lesnar fight. Enough to take some time, bulk up to around 230-240 fighting weight. His kicks, elbows, length and reach against guys like Stipe and Cain Velasquez would have been tough for them. Now we'll never really see his potential. I still think he is the best UFC pound for pound fighter tainted with steroid use. A lot of fighters do them, but a lot also don't.

lol. I always thought he was overrated anyway. Not that he isn't good, but he gets by being tall as fuck, steroids, and beating dudes who are on their last legs anyway.

UFC is fucked.

Jones will be banned for who knows how long and McGregor isn't ever coming back after that boxing payday.

They all probably on steroids, still such waste of talent. Never like Jon Jones but LOVE rooting against him in his fight. Probably multi-year ban.

I'm done with this guy. Such a great fighter to watch, he has such talent, but he needs to cheat. I knew that first PED bust was legit too, I knew it! But I was willing to look the other way. I wonder if he was ever clean? Prolly not. This is a joke, go fight in Bellator or something.

Four year suspension. His career is done.

the crazy thing is he'll only be 34 in four years. That's younger than DC is now and younger than like 5 of the current top 10 LWHs. His career is likely far from over if he wants it. That is of course assuming he doesn't wind up dead or in jail before then.

Official UFC statement. Just the standard stuff and nothing juicy but here it is

The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Jon Jones of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an in-competition sample collected following his weigh-in on July 28, 2017.

USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Jones, as it relates to the UFC Anti-Doping Policy and future UFC participation. Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed the day before Jones' bout at UFC 214 in Anaheim, CA, and USADA will work to ensure that the CSAC has the necessary information to determine its proper judgment of Jones' potential anti-doping violation.

Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.

What? Dude is still rich as hell. saying he fucked up his life is ridiculous.

He has fucked up his entire legacy, and his children have a great father to look up to growing up for sure. But hey he's got money so that's all that matters ya know. I'm also sure his longtime girlfriend is thrilled with his choices

Why do the UFC put their fighters in this position in the first place? Everyone in sports can get around the tests, except the "just bleed" league that has to keep the sanctity of the title.

4 years is an eternity in the UFC now. Dude has fought 2 fights since January of 2015 where he beat DC. Add 4 years of no fighting, plus the fact he is at his pinnacle peak means by time he gets to fighting, he will be in physical decline. Look how quickly Anderson Silva went from being untouchable to thrashed around by guys like Sonnen and then Ko'ed by Weidman.

This is someone about to lose all sponsors, all goodwill and support. By time he gets back, LHW could be an entirely new division.
