Maybe the producers thought he'd be showing off too many tattoos for a family movie back in 2012? People used to be real weird about multiple tattoos until about several years ago it feels like.

I enjoyed the first one more, because it was the better adventure movie. The second one was funnier though. Both worthwhile watches IMO.
