Awesome! Thanks for the post.

I ordered Minna no Golf Online, Ridge Racers, Lumines (day one), and Metal Gear Acid (Day... five)

Looking forward to this like you wouldn't believe. :)

EDIT: No Mingol or MGA box art?

Not in a large enough resolution that I can find. Just tiny thumbnails :-\ I'll wait till high res versions similar to these are available (unless someone else beats me to it).

Oh, and no prob :D

I never noticed this before but why is there a PS1 controller icon in the upper left corner of the boxes?

To make out the difference between PSP games, movies and music maybe.

Nice boxarts, but I hate the proportion of it. Too long, how are retailers going to fit it on Japanese shelves?

They are probably the same height as normal DVD cases, but not as wide. Like the Super Famicom game boxes were in Japan. I like!

I want Lumines badly.

Wow, they've got some pretty cool box arts... looks nicer than the real dull looking DS boxart style!

those box proportions would be perfect if they were horizontal :*(

But nonetheless, I declare 'good art'

That cover with the big weird cat is awesome considering it's the game with the big weird cat, but on a portable

WTF have they done to the VC artwork ? It's not that looks bad...just different...I guess it's a problem of different artists.

Is PSP region-locked for games? I read a while back that it was announced for PSP movies but they didn't say anything about the games.

... the PlayStation Portable will feature a region lock encoding system, but that this lock system will not be used on games.

PSP adopts both a "worldwide" and "regional" code system," explains Molly Smith of SCE America. "For games on PSP there is no region code. However, due to language and system issues, quality assurance procedures are done in each territory.

"You're kidding, right?"

hmmm....yeah, so sue me if the PSP's LCD is neither PAL or NTSC... but that they've had a region tag on game covers for so long now and now they're just not there. doen't have to be "NTSC", it could just have been a little "J", or "R2"

The Tower of Purgatory boxart looks cool in a bizarre kind of way...so what kind of game is it?
From MagicBox:
...Hudson's PSP action RPG Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory, you play as a cyborg named A.D.A.M., who awakened deep inside a dungeon. your mission is to search for your origin and the reason to live.
IGN has some TGS impressions of it here, as well as some videos here.

"your mission is to search for your origin and the reason to live."

Hehe, sound like an ambitious setup for the storyline. :P
I saw the trailer, and it looks pretty interesting...like a stat-crunching dungeon crawler. Cool with me.

Thanks, I hope you're right! But if those pics are true, then DS > GBA > PSP. :(

What is that thing in the top left-hand corner, next to the PSP logo? It looks like an outline of a PS2 controller (?!)

I'm personally wondering what the deal is with Morrigan hanging upside-down and still not exposing herself.
