What's the criteria here for #5years? Completely dead? No longer publicly traded? No longer on cable TV?

Keep in mind that while WCW was in a bad place, they were purchased by a competitor. There is no competitor that can purchase WWE and absorb their brand and their talent.

WWE will be fooked in 5 years. completely fooked.

That's all the criteria you need.

It's the last day for a fellow employee and everyone is writing in a card for her.

I couldn't think of what to say so I wrote "Good luck in your future endeavours."

What's wrong with me.

WCW wasn't in a bad place until 00/01, but 96-99 they were absolutely riding high. WWE is not in 00/01 territory but they're' definitely in the 98/99 territory where ratings are serviceable, people are buying PPV's but the talent is not being used in a way to make fans happy.
Maybe '98 in terms of booking its main events but they were still in the 4's, 5's and hit 6.0 once in that year. Unreal considering how hot Austin and the WWF were doing.

Botching Sting and getting Goldberg to lose to the Kliq boys is expected bs you would expect.

I still buy into the theory that Vince did some under the table shit to make sure Bischoff's group didn't buy WCW

IIRC from The Death of WCW, it pretty much came down to Time-Warner cancelling Nitro/Thunder that killed the deal with Bischoff's group, since the investors assumed until that point that they'd still have the guaranteed TV slots after the buyout. It's also what brought Vince into the picture since he had first dibs on WCW if it ever went up for sale as a result of the settlement for the lawsuit over WCW using the Razor/Diesel characters, but he didn't put in a bid because because he didn't wanna piss of UPN/TNN by running on another network.

Pretty much.

The wrestling business is filled with a large amount of complete scum and has been forever. Its fine to enjoy it but it is what it is too. Everyone can joke about carny trash but yeah, a lot of them are carny trash.
Like, 95% of pro wrestlers ain't shit. I learned that at a young age. So events like when I saw the video of Kevin Owens saying nigger at an indy show to gain heat, I wasn't even phased.

I can't source it right now but I remember Bischoff saying that at one point he would have been ok with taking WCW even without a TV deal

I think Mahonay has discussed how rating's comares don't work 1:1 for now and then, but yeah the nosedive in WCW was pretty drastic. Things slow dived, but then it was just a crash. I think the only reason WWE hasn't been in the same trajectory is due to competition. I think WWE die-hards will be like WCW die-hards where they'll ride the train until it crashes, but much like with WCW the casuals have jumped.

Wrestling will just never be at that scale again and try as the Titan empire might, it just wont ever be a big player as a major sport.

Also, did Smackdown really do another Women's MITB match only to have the same result but with a less interesting finish? I thought it was perfect the way it was done before.

They should have had Mella cash in and win the title so Bryan couldn't make her give the case back. If you're going to piss people off, fucking commit and go all the way, WWE.

The people were upset because of a male climbing the ladder, grabing the case, handing it to a woman in a Women's MITB match.

The finish yesterday should've been the finish on the PPV.

All the ladder spots happened in slow motion and they took the safest bumps imaginable. Nobody took a bump any harder than the equivalent of falling from the middle rope.

The powerbomb Becky took with no ladders involved in the spot was the hardest bump of the match.

by having a man win the first women's MITB match?

But they're heels. And there is precedent in ladder matches that if whatever is hanging falls off for whatever reason, whoever grabs it first wins.

You just have them be them and gloat about winning. They could have ran with that and made a good heel couple out of them.

Bayley debut on Raw - August 22
Bayley being the only Raw Women's Champ to win the belt via interference - February 13
Mania bad title defense in bad match - April 2
Kendo stick on a pole - June 4

Honestly impressive what they can do in 10 months

Yes and Carmella was face for pretty much a week because of it. Bryan bullied her into tears on Smackdown and Talking Smack last week. She then stated facts that supported her win made taking it away look stupid, unfair and selfish. Now she won clean lol what a heel.

This reminds me of a TNA X Division match involving a contract suspend up high and the wrestlers have to climb up to get it. During the match, the contract fell and the match was stopped for a second in order for the refs to put it back up. It was in a Botchamania episode. LOL.

It just wasn't the right time to do that. A better heel move would have been to have Ellsworth hold someone's leg or to prevent a ladder from getting into the ring. But something about him being the one to climb the ladder, seeing Carmella move into place, etc just was tone deaf as f

It's basically that problem of wrestlers repeating spots after botching them because they don't know how to improvise, only in booking form.

Ellsworth being the one to climb the ladder and grab the briefcase was on the same level of tone-deaf as Santino in drag being named Miss Wrestlemania

Both comprised of entitled fucks who believe they deserve everything they want and believe they have a full grasp of how the business works while being annoying asswipes who are often bigots and fuckboys.
Best answer.
