AnEternalEnigma said:Reading next week's Raw spoilers for the opening segment makes it very clear that Punk's promo was planned. Oh well, the magic lasted for about 20 minutes.

I totally agree with this. There would have been pages and pages of us trying to figure out what WWE would do next.bwahhhhh said:kinda sucks that the next episode is already being taped, suspense could have been played out via Twitter and WWE Press Releases for a week, otherwise. unfortunate timing, i guess.
Keyser Soze said:Of course it was planned, but he still said it live on TV. That does not make it any less awesome. The 90s were full of awesome planned stuff, stuff that is still memorable today.
This will still be memorable 10 years from now, just like those 90s moment. IT will be memorable regardless of where Punk or WWE is at that point
This is prowrestling, if you argue something has no magic because it was planned, then you are calling the whole industry pointless

The mood backstage is...edgy, to put it mildly. @CMPunk is in a meeting with a lot of the people he just called out...
He's still in there...

Yeah, the constant complaints about this is disconcerting. It's the best thing that WWE has done since the Nexus invasion, and who knows how long before that. Now one or two people, who constantly complain about other stuff, now complain about this. Oh well. It was awesome and has me interested in the product again.Keyser Soze said:Then it is a sad fucking disgrace you and others are part of this thread. What these threads have turned into in the last few years is embarrassing.
AnEternalEnigma said:Definitely a work then. They are just trying to create buzz for the PPV. But you know what? I really like it. They've definitely gotten people talking.

@CMPunk just melted my 52 inch TV with a scorching hot promo...delivery, content, and attitude...one of the best promos I've ever seen.
There r many of us who were NEVER pushed to the level Punk was & were NEVER allowed to shoot like that, he's lucky he was allowed to do that
But it was very strong & real!! I liked a lot! Good stuff Punk!
and promotes Austin's shirt tooAnEternalEnigma said:Steve Austin:

Please stop. Vince allowed everything that Punk said. This was not a shoot in any way, shape, or form.BoboBrazil said:The ROH/New Japan and Heyman/Lesnar mentions were the best part. I wonder if Vince allowed him to say ROH? I'm hoping the tv show for them is a success. It would help if WWE gives them a little boost every once in awhile kind of like they used to do for ECW back in the 90s.
Taz was never given a promo like that because he'd just stutter the whole time and talk about persimmons.AnEternalEnigma said:Taz:

Monday Night Raws abrupt conclusion last night was not due to technical difficulties. The decision to suddenly end the broadcast in that manner was made by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, who gave this quote to WWE.com:
CM Punk was suspended indefinitely for his unprofessional conduct as soon as Raw went off the air.
With his WWE contract expiring on July 17, one can only assume that this suspension effectively terminates CM Punks tenure with WWE.

well if I had to guess after the last few years I think ROH and WWE have a similar agreement that they had with ECW back in the day.BoboBrazil said:The ROH/New Japan and Heyman/Lesnar mentions were the best part. Why not? People have been calling the people in charge dumbasses for 15 years.Buckethead said:I'm sure Punk was allowed to rant but probably improv'ed.
No chance Vince lets Punk rip him, Steph, and Jean Paul.
