Reading next week's Raw spoilers for the opening segment makes it very clear that Punk's promo was planned. Oh well, the magic lasted for about 20 minutes.

Of course it was planned, but he still said it live on TV. That does not make it any less awesome. The 90s were full of awesome planned stuff, stuff that is still memorable today.

This will still be memorable 10 years from now, just like those 90s moment. IT will be memorable regardless of where Punk or WWE is at that point

This is prowrestling, if you argue something has no magic because it was planned, then you are calling the whole industry pointless

kinda sucks that the next episode is already being taped, suspense could have been played out via Twitter and WWE Press Releases for a week, otherwise. unfortunate timing, i guess.
I totally agree with this. There would have been pages and pages of us trying to figure out what WWE would do next.

I bet most of us won't even remember this in a month.

So they are going to Australia and or Japan and or Asia in general to celebrate the 4th of July? Seems like an odd time to leave this US. WWE loves it's patriotic flag waving bullshit.

I don't see how that means it was a work. Seems like that would mean it's the opposite.

So, I rewatched the promo. I feel like everything was a work up until the last minute when he started shooting on Vince and HHH and his yes men. It seemed like at the point Punk just took it off the rails. Maybe Vince told him to run with it and he just took it too far in that last minute. Just IMO.

**BANGS HEAD ON WALL REPEATEDLY**

SUCKS that next week's Raw is taped. Completely kills the hype that could've been built throughout the week. What bad timing.

listening to right after wrestling and they mentioned this tweet

WWEmagazine WWE Magazine

Definitely a work then. They are just trying to create buzz for the PPV. But you know what? I really like it. They've definitely gotten people talking.

No shit.

Still it was nice to hear someone say something like that. Especially about the fans who bitch but still watch week after week.

Then it is a sad fucking disgrace you and others are part of this thread. What these threads have turned into in the last few years is embarrassing.
Yeah, the constant complaints about this is disconcerting. It's the best thing that WWE has done since the Nexus invasion, and who knows how long before that. Now one or two people, who constantly complain about other stuff, now complain about this. Oh well. It was awesome and has me interested in the product again.

Yeah. First time since last year's Nexus invasion that I've felt this way about the end of a Raw.

The ROH/New Japan and Heyman/Lesnar mentions were the best part. I wonder if Vince allowed him to say ROH? I'm hoping the tv show for them is a success. It would help if WWE gives them a little boost every once in awhile kind of like they used to do for ECW back in the 90s.

Gotta say after missing raw and watching that promo. The Guy is amazing on the Mic. If he signs a new contract he needs to get a mega push out of all this.

Please stop. Vince allowed everything that Punk said. This was not a shoot in any way, shape, or form.

If that's the case, it's nice to see Vince still has a little gumption and savvy left in him.

http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/2011-06-27/mcmahon-suspends-punk

Monday Night Raw’s abrupt conclusion last night was not due to technical difficulties. The decision to suddenly end the broadcast in that manner was made by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, who gave this quote to WWE.com:

“CM Punk was suspended indefinitely for his unprofessional conduct as soon as Raw went off the air.”

With his WWE contract expiring on July 17, one can only assume that this suspension effectively terminates CM Punk’s tenure with WWE.

ROH is an indy company no one but IWC marks know about. They're not gonna become big overnight because CM Punk mentioned them.

Of course he does. That's why he's pushing Cena and people like Daniel Bryan are jobbing.

WWE has mentioned Ring of Honor before, specifically back during the Matt Hardy/Edge deal back in 2005. They brought Hardy back to TV when he still had a RoH date to fulfill and Hardy mentioned it.

well if I had to guess after the last few years I think ROH and WWE have a similar agreement that they had with ECW back in the day.

its kind of the unofficial talent pool. WWE get to scout out talent there and they get a bit a nice bit of cash to compensate.

For maximum authenticity, they should have scripted a promo for Punk about low 5 figure buyrates and devalued stock prices.

Taz was never given a promo like that because he'd just stutter the whole time and talk about persimmons.

I remember playing one of the N64 wrestling games, and Tazz came out to cut a promo on my created character and he's like "WE'RE GONNA SETTLE THIS RIGHT HERE TONIGHT ON SMACKDOWN!!" and it was at a PPV lol. (laughs)

Its just a game but I could never look at Tazz, even the real one the same again lol.

Re CM Punk: I love you, its not real but its all about the delivery, and yea you have been doing it that good for years. Easily mah fav 'new age' wrestler from this generation. <3
