I'm going to the Cleveland show. I've been looking forward to this all year. Last years show was so awesome that I went to the Young Lions Cup weekend later in the summer. CHIKARA is far and away my favorite promotion right now. The wrestling is really good, the storylines kick all sorts of ass, and the characters are better then anything you'll see on tv. Not only do you get great in ring action but you get great entertainment. I would highly suggest going to these shows if you can. I'd be down for a gaf meet up if anyone else is.

Good read. Sucks he left the company from a personality stand point, but understand why he would need to leave. For someone with training here and there, his matches were good. For someone in his position and wealth, he put his body on the line and was willing to give everything he had to put on a good show. Im sure living in Vinces shadow isnt easy and breaking away is probably for the best.

Why are all of these guys dressed up like insects/Power Ranger villains?

that's funny cause I remember an interview with Paul Heyman on off the record. He basically said Vince didn't like Yes-men. He liked having Heyman around cause he would challenge everything he said.
We're all in agreement that Vince is a control freak but to your above point I'm not so sure Heyman would happily go around and refer to his past stint working for the WWE as "working for a failure" if Vince was as "receptive" to being challenged as you imply.

If anything, Vince might like having antagonistic personalities like Heyman and the Internet around to tell him he's wrong so he can continue to foster this delusion of "bucking the system" and "fighting the establishment" while pursuing this flawed path of his where talent isn't developed, he controls everything obsessively to the point of smothering anything creative and where practical jokes against his talent at the expense of the product are justified.

Count me in with the Uso love.

Thought they were great on their debut and the week after with the anti typical Samoan thing until the WWE did their thing with them.

Definite potential there, especially with Jey (I think) as he looks just like The Rock.

After 18 months, my account finally got validated, and I am posting on GAF. I am truly honoured. I would like to use my first ever post to introduce myself and become a fully-fledged member of Wrestle-Gaf.

I was a late starter, my first PPV being Rumble 2000 at the tender age of sixteen. A Rocky fan to the end. Unfortunately I've grown into one of those cynical anti-Cena fans with barely anything nice to say about the product any more. The recent Zack Ryder stuff has sickened me, and I'm becoming increasingly sick of WWE as a company, and their distancing themselves from "wrestling", which is the reason I fell in love with the compnay in the first place! So yeah, pretty standard stuff.

I'm so pleased I joined Gaf on the weekend of a barely-remotely exciting PPV!

Also, wtf at Shaemus. Can we have him back on Raw please?

Welcome :) AND NO SHAEMUS WILL REMAIN ON SD FOREVER

Well actually Shaemus spikes his hair... he should tan up and switch personas to an Irish shore style face and tag team with Zack Ryder on RAW.

Get to the back of the line 'fore we collectively BRUISE YO STERNUM AND NEED A MEDIC RIGHT THERE.

Welcome to Wrassle Gaf where the fun don't stop

It's kinda funny how Heyman is the EXACT opposite of McMahon in every way possible -- he's up-to-date with the current trends/pop culture, he's not afraid to make drastic changes for the good of the business, and he has the ability to make seemingly mundane talent into stars.

But at least McMahon is the master of ribbing! Mark Henry and Zack Ryder must love him! :D

Also, they should really turn Sheamus face. They need another top face on SD anyway.
I think it was probably closer to 2 years, now that I think about it.

I think Shaemus would do an amazing job as a face. He and Santino have done some great stuff together!

Shouldn't someone slap him, then he gets a stunner, then he disappears to a lesser board to train on how to post, possibly never to be seen again?

Ugh, SMH @ Dixie Carter.

It's weird because supposedly she doesn't want to fire anyone, but apparently that's only true if you are a legend or Vince Russo. She had no problem firing Jay Lethal or Christopher Daniels.

Maybe he is the son of a famous poster though... in which case we'll let him start the new threads even though he has no discernible talent, and soon after that he'll be GAF tag team champion. I think that could work out.

We could call it "the Genesis".

Have Otunga and McGillicutty even wrestled on TV since winning the tag titles? I think they may have had a match against Koslov & Santino on Superstars but that may be it.

You guys obsess over him way to much. Maybe he is just a guy that runs his business and does things his way? You can read a thousand dirt sheets and watch a thousand shoot interviews and get a different Vince in all of them.

No...they all say he's headstrong and is the reason the company is where it's at today, for better or worse. I would say worse lately considering profits are dropping, ratings are in the shitter and PPV buyrates are the worst they've been in years. Some booking and quality matches would certainly improve that. But everyone says that at all goes back to Vince.

The biggest wrestling company in the world? The company that's falling profits would make any other wrestling promotion cry?

There are a lot of reasons why the E' is where it's at right now. Some of the reasons are in there hands, some of it isn't. it's this obsession people have with him that's bizarre to me.

Welcome to the party, new guys! I hope you become regulars. New faces come with new opinions and thoughts!

JOHN CENA vs. R-TRUTH
For the WWE Championship Belt.

l9QxV.jpg

RANDY ORTON vs. CHRISTIAN
For the World Heavyweight Championship Belt.

ALEX RILEY vs. THE MIZ

BOnfE.jpg

BIG SHOW vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO

lKzng.jpg

WADE BARRETT vs. EZEKIEL JACKSON
For the Intercontinental Championship Belt.

Wt1ID.jpg

REY MYSTERIO vs. CM PUNK

hP03h.jpg

KOFI KINGSTON vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER
For the United States Championship Belt.

My Predictions:

KOFI KINGSTON vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER
For the United States Championship Belt.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Reasonings: Although this match must have at least happened over 10 times over the course of this year and possibly last year, Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler have always put on a good show for the audience to see. I feel Ziggler will win this because why else would they feud the two for such a long time and have Kofi keep his belt throughout the whole feud. I'd love for Kofi to keep the belt, but possibly Ziggler could take the belts to new heights and actually make his presence known; although Kofi was the Intercontinental Championship, he has been very quiet with it.

Wt1ID.jpg

REY MYSTERIO vs. CM PUNK
Winner: CM Punk
Reasonings: A Nexus beat down. It could go either way, with Rey overcoming the odds or a Nexus beat down.

***BUT, REY MYSTERIO does explain in this video that June 19th is actually 6/19.

WADE BARRETT vs. EZEKIEL JACKSON
For the Intercontinental Championship Belt.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson
Reasonings: He'll get the help of the ex-Corre members in taking down Barrett.

BIG SHOW vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO
Winner: Alberto Del Rio
Reasonings: Big Show looks too strong after beating a few people senseless and after his rope breaking charade on Smackdown. I love the new look (jacket + yellow glove) as well as his new attitude but I feel Del Rio will "pull some shit" and pick up the win. I'd love nothing more than for Big Show to destroy Del Rio, but I doubt that will happen now.

ALEX RILEY vs. THE MIZ
Winner: The Miz
Reasonings: Alex Riley has been doing too good. They can't possibly let him defeat The Miz on a PPV after beating the Miz every time the two meet. The Miz will win this one to give Alex Riley a reality check on how things should be (no pun intended) and where they lie in the hierarchy of wrestlers on the RAW roster.

RANDY ORTON vs. CHRISTIAN
For the World Heavyweight Championship Belt.
Winner: Christian
Reasonings: I still believe. That's all I can say. Shut the hell up about random RKOs, Striker. =(

JOHN CENA vs. R-TRUTH
For the WWE Championship Belt.
Winner: R-Truth
Reasonings: Cena should win if I'm going by the "who looked weaker during the past few weeks" logic, but I want to see R-Truth as champion. Never in a year would I have expected the Zoo Keepa in the main event against John Cena.

All in all, it's a pretty decent card. The only match that does not interest me as much is the Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson match.

Here's hoping the show doesn't end with:

I'm still pissed Dixie wouldn't give him the power to hire and fire people. TNA would be so amazing if he would have come in a year ago like he was supposed to.
Tna is on the rise, pre Hogan they were doing a shitty 1.1 rating but now they're doing an amazing 1.2.

I don't want Truth to win just out of my usual irrational Cena hate, but it would make for an interesting program through Summerslam. Especially if the Rock could stop by to remind the now former champion that The Rock is only coming back for a wwe title match.......

Rock/Cena has no business being a title match.

Oh, I agree 100%, but we've had Cena cutting promos about how it is such an important match and it has to be for the title. So if he loses the title, it gives him a reason to chase it for a few months while the evil heel taunts him and the Rock shows up every 6 weeks to check in if he still has a match for WM.

Not the greatest of armchair booking, but it's better than LOL CENA WINS every PPV for 13 months because they decided to announce the WM main event so early.

The best way to build this up again would be for Cena to challenge for the title at RR and Rock causing him to lose.

If Rock vs Cena is for th title match that would be awful.

Cena to lose title, win Money in the Bank, come out after the end of the WWE title match at WrestleMania, win the title off of whoever has it and then have the main event with The Rock. Book it.

Damn, almost forgot the PPV was tonight. Anyways, my predictions...

My Predictions:

KOFI KINGSTON vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER
For the United States Championship Belt.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Reasonings: Eh...not totally a match I'm interested in, plus it's been done to death. So I'll say Ziggler wins.

REY MYSTERIO vs. CM PUNK
Winner: CM Punk
Reasonings: Barring a beatdown by the New Nexus, I'll say Punk wins. But we know it really could go either way.

WADE BARRETT vs. EZEKIEL JACKSON
For the Intercontinental Championship Belt.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson
Reasonings: They seem to be really pushing him lately. But it's another match that could go either way depending on how things turn out.

BIG SHOW vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO
Winner: Big Show
Reasonings: As much as I'd like ADR to pull some random BS and win, it doesn't seem very likely in this case. Plus they showed Show as on a rampage, so it seems obvious for him to pick up the win.

ALEX RILEY vs. THE MIZ
Winner: The Miz
Reasonings: Same as spindashing's reasoning basically. Miz has been getting buried on Raw as of late. Time for some revenge?

RANDY ORTON vs. CHRISTIAN
For the World Heavyweight Championship Belt.
Winner: Christian
Reasonings: Christian wins if only to extend the feud. That and I want him to win. :D

JOHN CENA vs. R-TRUTH
For the WWE Championship Belt.
Winner: R-Truth
Reasonings: Barring a "miracle" comeback by Cena (those odds!), I really want R-Truth to win. But...it wouldn't surprise me if Cena retains, since stuff's shitty like that.

Throwing out PPV thoughts?

KOFI KINGSTON vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER
I'm sure that this will be a solid match, considering that we've all seen it about 20 times in the past year it damn well better be. Well here's hoping for Kofi to continue his reign and maybe he will one day ascend above the mid card he seems to be locked down in.

REY MYSTERIO vs. CM PUNK
This seemed to come out of nowhere, I didn't even notice the feud start up. another solid match at least but didn't I just see this on Raw? oh such fabulous booking!

WADE BARRETT vs. EZEKIEL JACKSON
Another Big Zeke bodyslam spam extravaganza? oh be still my beating heart! I've been a big supporter of Barrett but he has completely fizzled out thanks to the fact that the writing staff on Smackdown can be bested by the plots of mere picture books. I expect Jackson to win and go on to do absolutely nothing worthwhile.

BIG SHOW vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO
For me Big Show is great in multi man matches but completely boring in singles matches. So in other words I really don't care what happens here. I'd call him the Big Slow but raw has crapped over those myths, Rock's going to need new material if he ever calls out Show again.

ALEX RILEY vs. THE MIZ
Make it or break it time for Riley? I would think so. He is however still a rookie, I don't expect much from him here, still the fans are behind him for reasons I don't quite get, Miz must be a better heel than I thought.

RANDY ORTON vs. CHRISTIAN
Another match that should be solid, bonus points if Christian wins.

JOHN CENA vs. R-TRUTH
Truth has been the most entertaining thing for me in WWE this year, as someone who even liked him back when he was pandering to little jimmy and singing his songs i'd be pretty chuffed if he came out on top here......but he wont, so here's to another Cena victory. I can't bring myself to hate on Cena because his victories lead to much hilarity.

As always very insightful stuff.

Even though I would hate to see Someone like Sting or Scott Steiner go, I do have to agree with him 100% on this.

I don't want to watch Tommy Dreamer, Team 3D or any of the likes nowadays, yet when I turn on Impact, I'm sure I will loose at least 15 minutes of my evening to Boring Ray run his mouth and put up a shitty match. :-/

BIG SHOW vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO

Del Rio wins.

ALEX RILEY vs. THE MIZ

Miz wins by DQ.

RANDY ORTON vs. CHRISTIAN

Randy Wins. They gotta push that up and comer.

JOHN CENA vs. R-TRUTH

Cena wins because its Cena. Plus has WWE ever had a black WWE champ?? Probably a DQ finish or truth wins but the ref reversing his derision then Cena F-U's truth for a quick pin.

Ultratech said:
Aside from one or two, these are the most bizzaro PPV predictions I've ever seen. You expect both heels to win and take the belts off their respective superman champions? Not hardly.

Anyway, my picks:

Kofi v. Ziggler
Should be a great match, probably the best on the card.

Maestrio v. CM Jesus
They've been pushing Punk a little recently, but he's not going to go over Super Rey. Not in this lifetime.

Barrett v. Zeke
A feud no one cares about with a face that is as bland as week-old bread against a heel that should be being pushed to the top. Why does this sound familiar?

Big Show v. Del Rio
If the plan is still Del Rio v. Cena at Summerslam, I'm not sure about this. I think Show ultimately goes over, but Del Rio gets the last laugh in the end to look strong before being fed to the red and blue wolf.

Alex Riley v. Miz
This will probably have a blowoff at Summerslam, for whatever reason. Riley is a Smackdown wrestler and should be on there, but continues to be on Raw for whatever reason. Good job brand extension!

Orton v. Christian
No way Christian comes out on top. Vince hates him, the Internet loves him so that's the perfect combination of being buried for life. Even if Orton can't wrestle, it'll be a surprise RKO to bury Christian once and for all.

Cena v. R-Truth
Anyone expecting Truth to win is either naive or delusional.

oh and Rey v. CM Punk

Punk Wins.

I expect since Punk it gonna take time off in a few months that they will build him up and get him in a title match with Cena so Cena can AA his through the stage or something.
