No, I certainly wouldn't want it ignored completely.
It is implied in JP3 by Grant that InGen had either cloned dinosaurs "off the list" or someone was still cloning them. They never went anywhere with that notion had I would certainly think it interesting if it was in fact the latter.

Findings since around the mid-nineties have shown that a rather large swath of theropods (the meat eating dinosaurs and their relatives) were at least partially covered in feathers for at least part of their life. For instance, Tyrannosaurus may have had feathers, for instance, as an adult, and almost certainly did as a juvenile. Velociraptor, though, had feathers for sure (and not just a small smattering--it had full-blown wing feathers on its arms). Gallimimus almost certainly did as well, as with Compsognathus--just to list off the dinosaurs from JP that would be most affected.
Most of the other groups of dinosaurs (like, most plat-eaters for instance) probably didn't.
