I won't consider this movie canon if it does't take place on Nublar.
Takes place on Nublar set in the modern day.

This is likely why they run into the old Jeep. It would be awesome if we got this movie where all this new stuff is happening, and the main characters are all journeying toward something like Grant/Tim/Lex were but then ran into older remnants like that old Jeep and such.
Nedry's jeep maybe?
I think you're operating your logic a bit too mechanically. Perhaps that happens sometimes (I'm sure it does) but that isn't to say that Colin didn't want to go through the script and work through it with Derek Connelly until they found something that they wanted to work with. I mean they could have just taken Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa's original script if they wanted to make a quick buck, but they didn't.
I don't know how much you may or may not be right about, but it's still such early days that I don't think anything is finite at this point. It could be good or bad just like any other film.
Jeep number is Hammonds Jeep when they arrive on the Island. I suspect it will be some sort of lost in the jungle type thing that's stumbled across. Be a neat moment people like wtf is Jurassic park? since the original park never went public.
Universal accidently Destroyed Nedry's jeep number during reconditioning and accidently gave it a new number.
It's worth remembering that it wasn't originally delayed due to script problems. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=555028

I'm honestly not sure, someone should check the numbers.
Nedry's jeep maybe?
It does and its set after the first film.

I think Sorna could be awesome if done right. If they used Chricton's TLW as inspiration, they actually went into the whole dinosaurs dying before they reach maturity plot, it could be awesome.
someone point me in the direction of details. I have been against the idea of this movie since feathers gate and dinosaurs with guns leak.
idk. for me, Jurassic Park has always been about the concept of man playing god with science first, and then a horror/monster/thriller second. The Lost World watered down the first book/movie's themes of capitalism, man playing god, etc into just a story of greed. Jurassic Park 3 takes place in an alternate dimension where Sam Neill plays himself playing Alan Grant in order to pay off a loan... at least in my head.

Basically 20+ years after the events at Nublar INGEN has been bought by PATEL Corp which decides it can do what Hammond could not as far as making a new and safe Jurassic Park named Jurassic World. We know the shit hits the fan again obviously but the exact details of what happens are all speculation.
This time around though it seems the park may be a success for awhile and then things go bad.
can't help because im only following it here on Gaf but
1. 22 years after JP1
2. Isla Nublar
3. The park has been completely redone
4. I think its actually open for business in this
5. Dr Wu is the only returning character so far
What makes Jurassic Park so special is that it's a movie about dinosaurs.
What makes JP2 and JP3 suck is that they are movies that happen to contain dinosaurs.
Don't really get the hate for TLW. More Malcolm is always good, maybe because Jeff Goldblum is the shit. Other than the San Diego bit, which wasn't that bad, and the gymnast bit, fucking cringe inducing, I really enjoyed the movie. The cliff scene and the long grass scene are amazing.
Armored golf carts. Yeah those will be safe against a T-Rex attack.
"Remember what happened to those inspectors of the first park?"
"Yeah, that T-Rex attack was brutal."
"That's why we upgraded the armor, but it made the jeeps too slow and took down the action-radius by about 200 miles, so we made some adjustments."
"Golf-carts?"
"No. Armored Golf-carts. If a T-Rex or Spinosaurus bites on the armor, he won't penetrate it."
"Won't the people just fall out?"
"Yes, well, they should remain seated anyway, it's in the safety instructions."
I hope we get some dinosaurs with feathers
But they're going for realism in their depictions of dinosaurs.

Yeah, Trevorrow's decision to go without feathers is pretty lame.
I get it, a lot of feathered DInosaur art sucks. That doesn't mean feathered Dinosaurs look bad in general.
Or just go out and observe some more crazy, exotic birds. The possibilities of feathers are limitless.
So is there a good read anywhere on what the plot of this movie will be?
Feathered dinos can be pretty scary. This fucker still gives me nightmaresDinosaurs just don't look threatening with feathers. They lose the scare factor and go into cute and adorable territory. It just doesn't work for them. Actual birds on the other hand can be threatening with feathers because...they're bird. Dinosaurs aren't.
So you'd rather have cute and adorable dinos then scary and menacing?
Yeah it's pretty much based entirely on the fact that they've given a director whose first (and honestly rather middling) indie feature that cost less than $1 mil a $200m budget. It just screams crazy to me.
