Wait, it's called Indominus now?

Yes, it's name changed after the leaks. I believe the final design did as well. I have heard so many valid descriptions of the Dinosaur over the stages of production, and it was constantly changing. My personal favorite was the larger Masiakasaurus looking one, least favorite being concept art that leaked.

Outta curiosity, where was David talking about this anyways? I'm looking for a good forum to talk paleo and JP.

It was on facebook. He commented on someone else's post, so it's hard to find.

So, no trailer with Mockingjay?

The Jurassic Park arcade game apparently has a feathered species:

Some photos of the new and up-coming Jurassic Park shooter arcade game. It's a pretty typical shooter and is definitely non-stop action. The species I saw represented were Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, Compsognathus, Triceratops, Dilophosaurus, Stegosaurus, Pteranodon, along with a small feathered species akin to Archaeopteryx or Microraptor. The info I received is that there are actually 30 species represented. Other enemies included large hornets and spiders (lol), along with weapons that you'd never see in the films (a freeze ray being one of them).

That is amazing! I finally went and beat The Lost World just this year, too :p The actual arcade looks pretty overdesigned and ugly though (takes up a lot of room). Hope my local places will carry that.

It actually says artwork is not final, and unapproved by the licensor thankfully.

If that new JP arcade game is similar to the one Raw Thrills released last year then I'm excited as hell since the old one is pretty damn great.

Found a video of the arcade game:

I LOVE the old TLW arcade game. Damn shame it never got ported to anything.

edit: You can even see the feathered species in there; looks like they fly or hover.

Yes!!

Ok, yup, story seems to revolve around the cleanup of Nublar in preparation for building JW. I wonder if we will see that feathered species make a 'cameo' appearance in JW.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain there are gonna be some tears shed on Thanksgiving Day.

No JP in 14 years. I'm 24 years years old. That means there have been more years in my life without Jurassic Park around than there ever was with it.

Feels like 65 Million Years in the waiting.

You and me both. The original was a big part of my childhood. It was one of those movies I was glad to see when I was young, since I missed a lot of 80s' classics. I can't think of anything else in a cinema experience that could beat out the trex scene. Pure magic.

JP was my shit as a kid, I had every single figure(Humans, dinosaurs, vehicles, sets) from 1and Lost World along with lot of other stuff.

Dr Grant was like my Indiana Jones as a 4-5 year old.

Teaser. The CGI looks worse than Dinosaur Revolution from a few years ago. That was a TV production too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvdIL7pUjcg

I also feel the teaser was made with the expectation that people would flip out at the scenes. But what do we have?

1. Somewhat reminiscent scene of the gate (but i don't care that much about the gate)
2. Galimimus scene where motion blur obfuscates every detail of the dinos, also: boring lightning
3. Brontosaurus scene with "the Ball" and also boring lightning. The dinos don't really shine.
4. Redhead actor looking confused in a generic control room setting
5. Chris Pratt looking confused in an elevator

So far, so disappointed... I was ready to get blown away by the effects :(

....I was so focused on the crazy ball that I didn't even notice the background :(

Ok yeah that slow CG was... meh. Hope they touch it up before release. Still several months (and enough time for the internet to flip out to make a change :p)

I just saw a picture from a licensor showing official JW plushes.
Among them, the Indominus Rex.
it was
very similar to a T-Rex, with bigger prehensile arms and a crest that started from the back of the head and went to the middle of the back. It had two small little horns above the eyes.
The most bizarre thing was the color: a very light grey, almost white.

Overall, i'd say this concept art is pretty damn faithful (at least judging from what i've seen).

Wait, where did you see this? Shoot me a PM of you don't mind.

I gotta say, Indominus looks
pretty natural, thankfully. I think hearing what it was a combo of was a big deterrent but its design isn't extreme or anything.

Indominus. They changed it after leaks.

Ah ok, I figured this was just an older piece.

I figured as much. Kind of like a Carnotaur. That's why I didn't get why people were flipping out and complaining about there being a newly made dinosaur. Did they think super weird or something?

Weren't the early rumors that it had a cloaking ability too? That's what I was worried about.

How is it pronounced: Indo-minus or In-dominus.

I think the second. Like indomitable.

I think early rumors were
size of T-rex, toe claws of velociraptor, cloaking like a cuttlefish, and spits venom like a cobra.

It DOES look like it based on a Rex has some long claws on its forelimbs (but not "toes"). Remains to be seen if it can spit venom or use camouflage. Given the very neutral grey coloring that we've seen from leaks, I bet the cloaking is still in.

Also given the trailer shows
"do you really think it climbed out?" they are clearly in the enclosure thinking the dino is not, so it likely is hiding using the camouflage ability"

So, that Lego Pteranodon color scheme:

PmT9vNl.jpg

It's the same color as the new Jurassic Park arcade game that is loosely a JW prequel:

It's probably not 1:1 to the JW Pteranodon, but I'm thinking it's based upon JW art, much like the arcade games Raptors.
