This and Mad Men. My two favorite shows currently on air will be ending right after the other. 2015's gonna be an emotional year for me.

i know right, whats even worse is i cant seem to find anything to watch long term to replace them.

Not sure if Masters of Sex is on your radar? And The Americans? Those are two shows who delivered two good seasons now and look like they'll be around for a couple of more years.

Not sure if you can qualify it Mad Men tier. But it's surely up there with the later seasons of Justified for example.

yeah both of those were nice surprises, i hope they dont go anywhere for a while. maybe its just seeing all these long running shows come to a close around the same time thats over blowing it a bit.

The Americans gave us my favorite full season of drama television this year. I love Justified to death and I liked season 5 more than most people, but as I'm sure it's been discussed in this thread it was weaker than usual. Not caught up on Hannibal yet (which is the only thing I might enjoy more), and Mad Men was only a half (but perfect) season. The intricacies of The Americans' parallels between international conflict with marriage and relationships just blows my mind.

Also... Tusk!

- EW: 'Justified' taps 'Lost' alum Jeff Fahey for guest arc in final season
Jeff Fahey, also known as Frank Lapidus on Lost and Duke Perkins on Under the Dome, has signed on for a multi-episode guest gig on the sixth and final season of Justified, FX confirms.

Fahey will play Zachariah Randolph,
a weathered and shaky sixtysomething man who is well-worn from a life of hardship and alcohol. He is also described as a “an old coot from the hill country” who “can still find his way around an abandoned mine shaft.”

I finally got around to watching this show earlier this year (still haven't seen the 5th season). I wish I hadn't waited so long. Going to be sad to see it go.

I know this season needs to be the end, but I so wish this season didn't need to be the end.

Can you elaborate on that? I can see why this season needs to be the end, but I don't know if you're saying it for the same reasons.

Personally I enjoyed every season but considering the show peaked early on (season 2) and never quite reached that same level of quality, I think ending it next year is not a bad idea.

I also think Walton Goggins being a regular is both a blessing and a curse, because at some point his journey has to end. Whereas Raylen seems more like the kind of archetype that could go on tackling more cases.

For both reasons you mentioned, really. Less so that the show peaked (it did, but aside from a few low points I think it has maintained a very high standard since then) and more that the stories of these characters will begin to wear thin soon. I love all of them, and I want to see more of them, but I know if I do it just won't be as good. They have arcs and extending them any longer will just lessen the impact of their resolutions.

Apologies for bumping without any significant news, but today is Walton Goggins' 43rd birthday, and some of these pictures/clips are hilarious:

On series 3. This show is amazing. I'm glad I gave it a chance. In the uk stuff that is usually on channel 5 is mediocre at best. I thought this was just another American cop show with a guy wearing a hat.

Damn this shit is legit, I nearly watched sons of anarchy over it.
