K-on! Community |OT| Never Ending Talk About Never Ending Girl's Talk

I got Steam so I can easily pick up on sales. I haven't bought a game full-price in quite a while.

This is easily the best thing about steam. I got the 3 most recent Tomb Raider games for £6, which is about half of the price of a preowned copy of the bundle on the PS3. So good!
It's also the worst thing though, I always end up impulse buying things that are cheap :D

I don't know if my computer can handle steam games.

Only one way to find out, get to installing Portal 2! If you can't run that, then I can recommend you a good toaster.

You're "crazy!"

Something, something, swans.

Yup, the only thing I pay full price these days for are fighters and action games. Even then I might find a pre-order deal, but everything else gets bought on sale. Those Steam sales will kill you, though. I have 448 games at the moment, guess how many of those I've played?

How do you guys cope?!
Admittedly, I've only had steam a very short period of time, but I only have 14 games on it! That number will probably jump a little with the Christmas period sale, whenever that is, but still. 200+ Games =O
I'd end up staring at the list, and spending more time deciding what to play than actually playing!

Nice.

It will only jump during sales if you have a wishlist. Speaking of which, I need to add the rest of you. This is totally K-On related because it has to do with the K-On GAF Steam group.

I gave up on buying things during Steam sales unless I am sure I will play it. Though, I wouldn't have gotten L4D2 if it weren't for my base consumerism impulses.

I rarely play on Stem even though i have quite a few games. I played more on PC in the 90s than now.

My gaming in general has suffered greatly since I started watching anime and movies a lot more.
I really miss the days of playing UT99 and UT2k4 though. Easily the best/most fun shooters I've ever played, methinks. It's probably nostalgia or whatever, but it was so awesome that they gave you their devkit with the game and let you do whatever the hell you wanted.
It really is a shame no developers seem to do that anymore.

I do tend to ramble =X

I have somewhere in the 120's. I keep telling myself every summer sale "this is investing in the future when I build that PC later this year".
I've been telling myself that for years.

This is the exact reason I got more into anime. I dislike games and movies more than I ever have and decided to turn to something else. I just happened to run into K-On and thought "there must be a reason this is so popular." It just so happens that I ended up really liking it.

But then they can't sell you four maps for $15, think of the poor publishers!

Heh, it's kind of the same with me. I got alot more into anime when I started wanting things with an actual plotline(not that all anime has any sort of coherent plot!). It's just nice being able to relax and watch something that's pretty lighthearted and fun, rather than killing wave after wave of other people in most of the generic shooters that come out - CoD, I'm looking at you!

This is too true :( The worst thing about it is the fact that the players suffer so much because of it. A very high percentage of the user made maps for UT were way better than most of the maps provided by developers of other multiplayer games released at around the same time.

I have never looked to video games for any kind of story. My complaint is that everything gameplay-wise is being dumbed down to the point of being so shallow that a puddle is starting to look as deep as DMC3 or 4. They're just not fun to me anymore and there's really no reason to play them more than once, if that. I guess I just miss being challenged and it was the main reason I played games. So, why not try something new?

Luckily, we can just put our money toward other things now, yes? Mmm... merchandising.

Haha, merchandising. OH GOD, MERCHANDISING.
I haven't actually bought any merch, cause there's nowhere to put it in my crappy room in halls :(
I have, however, spent waaaay too much on manga. In the last 3 months I've spent approximately triple what I've spent on gaming in the last 3 years.

It's not your fault that manga has been more enjoyable than games for the past 3 years. The one thing I have a hard time adjusting to is the prices of anime/manga and its merchandise. For someone who always said, "Oh, that game I have a little interest in is coming to Steam? I'll wait for a $5 Steam sale," it's a tough adjustment.

Aye, it is. It's not too bad though, as one of the shops that sells it near where I am does 3 for 2 on most of their stock. It's still pretty insane that one volume of manga is priced the same as a full novel though, considering the difference in content.

Ok, I redownloaded Steam and I'm gonna try Portal 2.

Only K-ON! GAF could talk me into downloading this again.

EDIT: This is my specs.

AMD A4-3320M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 2.00 Giza with like 4GB of RAM

I figure I can't run big games from the responses I got before about the PC version of Last Remnant but surely I can run older shit or older MMOs...right?

I'm willing to bet Portal 2 and L4D2 will run pretty decently on that. It's basically like Intel HD 3000 graphics in terms of the IGP performance but for Source with lower detail and resolution it might be okay.

Oh...fucking nice.

Could I run any MMOs? I feel like getting into FFXI.

I'm not quite sure what the bolded is, but given the CPU you should be able to run older games.

EDIT: Beaten with a better answer.

No. I did not draw this.

More Ritsu love, please.

It's a shame they took the best game off of GGPO, but I'm usually down for whatever as long as it has good netcode. Also, yay, connection is better.

And yet, I'm still pleased, even more so since it's my favorite moment with her.

I'll be bringing the Azunyan love soon. I have an idea for how to start the HTT timeframe stuff now, so I think I should be able to write from there. I had all the stuff in the 2010 timeframe planned out, which is easy because Azunyan doesn't have to interact with any characters from the K-ON world in 2010. They might all be dead, or some other reason. But they aren't there. Making her secretly an Assassin while also having her have the normal school life seen in K-ON, that's way harder for me to write.

I said that mostly to try and lure him out of hiding.

I can see how it would be difficult, but I really don't have any ideas of my own either...

Azunyan inarguably is the best. I'm not going to write fanfic about the worst girl, after all. Plus she won Japan Saimoe 2010. Therefore, she must be the best!

The night that I headed out for the midnight launch of the Wii U, I marathoned the first disc of the Season 2 boxset 2, and...

It ended at episode 22, and I'm getting such a sense of dread and finality whenever I glance at the second and final disc that I think I won't be watching that one until I don't even know. Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star, both are series that I greatly enjoyed (for very different reasons) and also felt like I couldn't watch or read them again a long while afterward when I tried to revisit them (Again, each for very different reasons). I... I don't want this to happen with K-ON, and I can't begin to piece together why this is.

It's also really confusing because I finished reading the 4-volume manga version of K-ON already.

It sounds like you've thought about it.
I'd love to do comics, porn or otherwise, but I never know where to start. Doesn't help I suck at writing too.
Not like that's a prerequisite for H-manga anyways...

If it helps any, there's always the movie to watch afterwards! And maybe this thread will help you avoid that curse.

Doing H comics isn't exactly hard to do....just hard to do well.

Tis why I always got to respect these doujin artists.
