No, it'll just help stop kids from being bullied, which is a perfectly noble cause.

You really think that will stop anything? Bullies don't really care how you look, they only care about making other people suffer, whether as a coping mechanism or just because they get off on it.

No.

Preventing bullying of lower income students wearing "discount fashion" is what his point was.

And that little idea could affect lots of students, that to this day, get bullied for the same shit.

His point is that just because an idea isn't large at scale, doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

People often overlook lots of variables that affect people on a personal level, and those smaller causes can make a bit of a difference.
Loved when he said that. It's a genuinely good idea.

People will continue to chalk it up to this or call him crazy because of how he acts. It's understandable. I'm just basing what I see on past facts. The 'Early Kanye' people praise is mainly his music, not the person. Seriously, go listen to interviews about him, listen to what Dave Chappelle said about him when he met him right after College Dropout hit. It's the same dude.

Guy.. This guy is delusional, an egomaniac and crazy. The George Bush thing during a telethon, the stupid shit with Swift at award shows and his non-sense rants every other week point to it. He should really just spread his messages though his music and then shut the fuck up.

I'll just leave this here.

And a week after that they hired Tom Thibodeau.
Coincidence? I don't think so.
Don't doubt Ye.

I've literally seen it in action and just described my own personal experience with it, which you conveniently didn't bother quoting.

This being the same individual who has white t-shirts with insane price gouging.

He's designating style at a price.

Something smellin' like shit, that's the new fragrance
It's just me, I do it my way, bitch
Some days I'm in my Yeezys, some days I'm in my Vans

Bullies aren't some "big bad guys" cracking their knuckles and getting off to stop their insecurities.

Bullies are/can be regular people cracking a joke about how some kid wore the same shirt three times the same week.

It's obvious you've never had to directly deal with/seen that type of situation

He's too materialistic to really put into effect what he believes people think they want, he sells 500$ shirts, how does that help the low income kid with bullying... he's made tons of money, his wife has tons of money.. he can start doing what he claims he wants to do, why doesn't he start in his home town of Chicago.. proof is in the pudding ye..

"I spent $400 on this, just to say.. .. you ain't up on this"

He comes across as poorly articulated and a little bit crazy in the interview, but with the help of Kayne translators in this thread, I think he does have some valid points about clothing, bullying and classism. A clothing line aimed at disarticulating this, really isn't the worst idea in the world.

I agree and understand his rant. I thought it was beautiful and it's a shame that the quick response is to laugh at something you don't understand.

Labeling every passionate speech Kanye gives as a "rant" effectively dismisses him and his arguments. In this case he seemed to be making a pretty solid argument about validation. It's not about giving him awards. It's about recognizing the brilliance of an individual's art. And when you basically dismiss the art of a large group of people, specifically black people, you're silencing them. You're telling people they're only good enough to create shit that we steal later down the road and play off as our own.

We're talking about people who have been placed in an art plantation. And folks have the audacity to laugh or criticize Kanye for wanting to escape it.

You've got to be kidding. The man is a lunatic. He's on the verge of a mental capitulation. He needs a reality check or some sort of help.

Strangely, I think I largely understood everything he was trying to say, about bullying as well as black struggles to break the mold in society, in one's career or artistically or through business etc. I mean this isn't really much of a rant so much as Kanye seemingly trying to publically unload his stresses and concerns surrounding the things he hopes to accomplish as an artist-turned-entrpreneur.

Granted, the dude doesn't sound entirely stable (there's a part where he spontaneously starts using his own thoughts to start rap improv, almost as if conditioned to speak in meter) but I feel like I get him here. Just hope he gets the mental and emotional support he can get b/c he's a great artist, albeit misunderstood

I don't know why people are saying his little speech is delusional. I mean he has some pretty valid points.

The only problem is he isn't good at articulating his message across.

Drugs. He looks and sounds like he is on drugs.
Stay in school and don't do drugs kids.

He ain't on drugs. This is just what Kanye is like.

Anyways, yeah, he comes across as a bit crazy in this clip, but I really do think he means well. I'm genuinely curious to see what he would do if he was given all the resources he wants. I want to see some dope shit.

If I could have one answer to the universe, it would be to know if his weirdness is an act or not. Sometimes I'm convinced it is, and then other times I just don't fucking know.

What's with all the people weirded out by Kanye's normal talking lol

Seems like y'all have been overexposed to the "RANT" Kanye and haven't seen enough of his actual interviews. Granted he seems maybe a littleeee bit more soft spoken, at least tonally, considering he got censored like 3 times haha.

If you can say it in one sentence, why can't he?

I hate to harp on things, but what's the problem?

He's going through a lot of things that he personally sees as an issue and that people don't even give the time of day.

Rather than going around the usual talk show formula of questions surrounding family life->aesthetic->promotion he just directly said what he feels isn't talked about in media.

I'd say he enjoys harnessing attention, bc he knows it gives him an opportunity to make a public difference and potentially get recognition, but he isn't very articulate outside of the musical setting and doesn't care enough to be conservative/deliberate of when he harnesses that attention.

I think it's 50/50. Kanye reached heights no mortal men should ever reach, there's no way he didn't get at least partially messed up in the process. I think he just extrapolates that because his fanbase seems to really like it.
