Kanye goes on epic, disjointed rant on Ellen show

He has ideas but people are just holding him back. Shame on Mark Zuckerberg for not reading that tweet and giving him 53 mil.

Just think, if he could use that money to manufacture more clothes in sweatshops, some Americans would feel better about themselves and humanity would be saved.

Is it true that he is only known for saying and doing stupid shit and being married to a kardasian? Or does he have actual talent? I only have heard one song of his.

As much as I love Kanye, that whole bit about "making clothes" and "ending bullying" was sigh inducing. How do you expect to stop bullying when you're creating a clothing line where a Wal-mart $5 looking sweater costs $300 dude?

I don't think there is any other thread in all of GAF where more people have posted that evidently haven't either:

A). Watched the video
B). Read more than the first page of the thread

That's not how having access to all the food all the time works.

I don't care about peoples' weight in general, but for what it's worth, the wealthy are in better shape than the poor overall. Healthful food is typically more expensive and what's cheap and plentiful is usually garbage and diabetes inducing.

I don't understand how it is physically possible for a person to take themself as seriously as he does.

I'll just leave this here.

What worries me more is how many likes this received.. proves how many idiots are in this world.. like those believing lemonade was not a ploy to get morons to join Jay-z bs streaming company.

Did you need anymore proof of that?

Look at the views pewdiepie or any other moronic Youtuber gets...

What's so stupid about that tweet? People wanted a better version of Wolves, Kanye said he would make it, and he made it.

some of you may know that I have been a huge anti Kanye person over the last few years. I still don't care much for him, but I don't really see what all of the fuss is about. He seems extremely passionate about his thoughts and ideas. I think he is just having a hard time speaking about them in a manner that is clear or concise.

I actually admire that fact that he is talking to the audience and not Ellen. The dude is obviously on something, but isn't everybody nowadays.

He seems to have decent ideas, and I could tell that he wants change. I only worry that this Kanye is not the Kanye that we always see.... You have to wonder when he will revert back to the old Kanye...

but overall, I don't mind his message at all. And I have been one of his biggest enemies on here... Not to mention endured a few bans due to topics about him....

I feel like Kanye West's stream of consciousness "rants" are important and I'm glad he gets mainstream platforms to express himself. People criticize him because he doesn't go on these shows repeating shit that was written by some PR person to promote whatever latest product he's peddling. It's inarguable that his music and clothing are genre pushing. Anyone with that much creative talent is going to be very odd and unique, it's a fact.

He's one of the best Hip Hop producers ever. Produced tons of iconic songs before he rapped at all. After that he's made a few classic albums. He's talented. Also Yeezy's are dope.

Just got done watching, and I suspect ^this + nervous energy.
It wasn't that bad. He just says a load of nothing drivel, which fits right in on daytime TV. Don't understand the hate.

If he's not on the autism spectrum after watching it, I'd be surprised.

He really doesn't get why making expensive clothing does not make the world a better place.

No, that's not it. He isn't good at articulating his points of view. He comes really close to saying something truly great, but it's being said in not the right order. I've seen this happen to him before in interviews. He has the passion but constantly gets flustered and trips over himself when talking.

Basically what I'm saying is that if this were WWE and he were Brock Lesnar, he needs a Paul Heyman to speak for him. He needs someone to convey his thoughts and actions to the public and refuses to admit it. So he comes off as childish and and rant-ish when he wants to spread a good message.

Edit: If you ever heard Timbaland or Jay Z talk about him in older interviews, they said he was like this even during his producing years. Passionate but not well spoken.

I agree 100% with what you said. I would not be surprised if Kanye has ADHD.

we don't need less people like kanye, we need more.

it's true.

yeah it's easy to shit on him if you only look at the surface and see the memes painting him as a rambling guy who thinks he's god. yeah he says stupid shit sometimes and i'm not gonna defend him for everything. but his music and general attitude towards art and life is really inspiring. genuinely helped me to cope with depression and become a more confident person.

he's like THE person who doesn't need a pr department. it's so important to see someone who's that huge in media just be themselves.

Yeah, Kanye is one of those artists that is so much better talking through their music than in person. His stream of consciousness style of articulating himself works really well there. These cringe inducing rants don't do him any favours IMO, even though I don't particularly disagree with anything he's saying.

After some of the comments here I expected a really crazy rant where he was completely wilding out. But not at all. This is actually one of the more genuine rants from the dude. Yes he had said plenty of crazy stuff before and yes a lot of that was clearly for attention seeking but this rant here really did not strike me as attention seeking. He says some good stuff here and I honestly don't believe he's just saying it for the hell of it.

Of course he'll soon be back at writing odd and crazy tweets, but I guess I have to give him credit for this. I thought this rant was fine.

You nailed it.

We've got armchair concerned psychologist diagnosing him based off of WebMD symptoms and we've got people who haven't watched the video wondering "how his $600 line could possibly help bullies lol".

Either watch the video or be creative if you're going to make an ass of yourself.
