Phenomenal voice acting and animation. This show made frigging ORKO one of my favorite characters.

The villains were all great. I'm very much looking forward to the next batch.

Most people who gave issues with the series are judging it by what they wanted it to be instead if what it is. Because it dies that very well.

Managed to watch all of it, has some serious Saturday morning cartoon vibes with a healthy injection of contemporary social commentary and a peculiar campyness. I do not know what i was expecting but it got some things right. Voice acting was all over the place however and when it's bad it's quite bad. Vehicles are still stupid, characters also still look stupid for the most part, it is He-Man after-all but with the softer side of Sears in its DNA. I'd venture to say that the new She-ra was better written with much better character development despite its own set of problems.

It's so weird but I think on some level it must be working or achieving some kind of goal.
Amazon's LOTR show also seems to be going along this same guideline.

I reckon it could be something like if some content in a franchise is poorly made and poorly received then future good content is more likely to bounce back even stronger. So if you look at the long term it might be better to have a short term "failure" that angers loyal fans so that you can recover with something that "makes up for it" and make even more money.

Maybe a Ghostbusters 3 would have been seen as boring and stale but Ghostbusters Afterlife will be seen as the absolute savior of that franchise everyone loves.

It is incredibly obvious and repetitive when you are looking for it. Mass Effect legendary edition was going for the same thing when they leaked the butt scene removal thing but it just didn't catch on.

The leaker to Clownfish in this case was probably someone at the studio to get the ball rolling.

The know if they create original IPs with their ideologies shoved in many wont watch it so they constantly attempt to use existing IPs with already established fanbases. Terminator was one of the worst offenders.

Overall enjoyed it. The side characters are much more entertaining to me so I enjoyed the direction it took. Heman himself, isn't an interesting character so good on them for taking the chance.
Most important, looks like we get a lot more of Mark Hamil.

I wonder if this thing could have been salvaged with better marketing. Call it "MOTU: Death of He-man" or "Trials of Teela" and sell it as 'inspired by the 80's cartoon' instead of as a direct sequel with He-man front and center. If they didn't have the rights to the filmation stuff and had to go at it obliquely and they intended to side-line He-man and focus on side characters then the marketing department REALLY dropped the ball and they should have muzzled KS since he gleefully helped dig that hole.

If their hope was to create a new MLP then by all accounts it failed horribly in "reimagining" the IP.

Still, if you don't UNSUBSCRIBE, even for just a month, Netflix wins! Hate watching is still giving them money..

I mean. Lena Headley was great. Man at Arms sounded great. Mark Hamill is always great. Scareglow was a standout to me. Teelas voice was solid too. Once you get over the familiarity with Kevin Conroy Batman I could even appreciate Mermans voice. Even thought Cringer sounded good. So yeah I'd say I was pleased by it.

It baffles me how we in the modern age, now turn liking a piece of entertainment into a negative connotation, even a means of disparagement but I suppose that's the way of the world. Le sigh.

People are taking the show way too seriously. Its portrayed in a very matter of fact manner, no one turns to the screen and gives you a speech about why it had to be Teela who does this because she's a strong woman. She accepts plenty of help from males and her and her entire group are saved by Man at Arms in epsiode 3. Its just an action adventure show, there's no need to overcomplicate it lol

Judging from the reviews that I've read in gaming press at the time this game came out, I predict that the internet shitstorm would be of biblical proportions.

I can still remember one prominent magazine giving it 6/10 and the author spending like half of a 3-page review harping on that one point and using juvenile insults towards Raiden. Those were truly different times.

Transformers War for Cybertron. Where the animation is on a great level with voice acting that is miles better. To shit on Masters of the Universe it also has a story that is both a re-telling of the original with a modern take on it. It handles the IP with care and pushes it into a dark and mature direction. Literally everything a nostalgia driven fancof the original G1 always wanted.
Both cartoons have a 95% critics score on RT but only one didn't bomb with viewer scores.

I also liked it, being a He-man fan myself , grew up in the 80s. The end was briljant, a nice take on things , it is called masters of the universe.. not He-man master of the universe..

I'm sorry, but this is untrue. There are far better animated shows on netflix alone. I wouldn't compare it well to any of the previous powerhouse netflix shows.

You don't like it and that's OK but it's not poorly written at all. The characters are far more fleshed out here than the old show and the relationships between the characters is far more important and have more meaning. Missing He-Man does not = poor writing.

The Filmation version, the sequel, the 2000's, the comics, they are still all out there and can be watched and read in your preferable manner. There are fans of just the original show, there are fans of just the comics, there are fans of just the reboot, there are fans who love everything He-Man related, there are fans who hate the cartoons/comics but love the toys and there are brand new fans due to this new show. Plenty of old school fans love the new show as well. You don't get to dictate who the fans are and pretend that all fans hate it because it's simply not true.

I love Jay and Mike but your image is the poorest and laziest possible critique you can throw at someone because you don't know anything about the person you throw that image at. Me personally, I remember watching He-Man every day it was on but I can no longer remember any of the episodes. I just know the show doesn't hold up anymore.

Had a blast watching this. Was always more of a D&D cartoon guy along with the LJN toyline. But watching Revelation has prompted me to go back and watch the classic MOTU.
Revelation is goofy fun.. aside from Teela, who is dull as tacks and near impossible to root for. But otherwise had a good time watching, and have been recommending it.

Yea we must be looking for different things. Im a much bigger fan of TF but I find it's animation AND voice acting no where near this show.

Many TF fans absolutely hate it as well. I dont but id pick this over it any day.

I follow the YouTube Outrage Nerds (y'all probably know who I'm talking about) and I actually understand and agree with a lot of the criticisms being thrown at Hollywood and current day media. That said, it does get repetitive after a bit and I have to step back. The negativity from these folks could generate a Ghostbusters II-esque river of slime that could consume us all.

It would be nice to have a more neutral take on all these new shows and movies based on existing properties. Not everything has to be seen through the lens of "being under SJW attack."

Normally I'm fully with this mindset, and really I'm still with this mindset even here, but who likes the show and who doesn't is much less important here than Kevin Smith lying to everyone about it. I don't even care about the "bait and switch" as that's just another aspect some some might enjoy, and some might not. I mean they were great as toys. They were imaginative and weird and conjured a whole alternate universe. And the little comics that came with them actually had some pretty cool Frank Frazetta inspired art.

But the show was just rock stupid. They didn't care. At least with GI Joe and Transformers they got Marvel comics involved and tried to come up with something. But He-Man was just a commercial for the new figure every week.

And now they're trying to give these characters depth and development, and like, there's still a dude named Fist-O with a giant fist.

Alright, a buddy really wanted me to join his group watch so I checked out the first two episodes. Overall I found it a little on the boring side with some questionable writing, especially the dialog and a scene in which He-Man just stands there and watches as someone is about to "end the universe". Another character reacts to the events and disclosure of certain information in a wholly unbelievable way that makes them instantly unlikeable, and they remain unlikeable through the second episode.

But, the animation is good. I agree with people saying the same. Very vivid colors and effects, magical effects really sizzle on the screen.

Knowing how the story plays out because I spoiled myself, I don't see a point in watching the rest of the episodes, and I doubt I'll watch the second part given how poor I found the writing.

A good team can make a good show out of any property. Netflix's Voltron was league's better than this and that orginal show is just as bad as he man was.
