It's quite tragic obviously. But there's also something beautiful about how he's still enthusiastic about the medium and feels like he still has new aspects to explore.

I ain't the only one who pumped the air when I saw Brendan Fraser in the trailer. This has to be the second movie with Leonardo involved with a Native American woman as the other one was The Revenant. He's also been known to do charity work for the American Indian, so it's not surprising.
Absolutely. Anything more from him is a gift at this point. It's amazing that he's still taking risks and pushing himself.

It will be since it's being produced by Apple Studios but it's also getting a theatrical release. I would imagine Scorsese insisted upon it. I would expect the time between the theatrical release and it being available streaming won't be that long. I'll still be seeing it in the cinema though.I thought this was coming to Apple plus….

80 seems to be the new 70. There are still a number of major film directors in their 80ies making new movies so as long as Scorsese is healthy there's time for a couple more.

Yeah, he had a similar arrangement with Netflix for The Irishman. Theatrical release first then available within a month or so via stream.

The Irishman was a dud for me, really hope this turns out better. Looks like a lot of CGI was used. Leo is going to deliver, that's for sure.

Ah yes, clearly Martin Scorsese wants to take down white people. He's just churning out that "overt racist propaganda". Maybe take a step back and consider if you're in too deep on that stuff.
And yeh, seeing racism in everything and declaring it to be propaganda is pretty typical of a culture warrior. Watching so many film discussions devolve into talking about the extent to which something is woke/problematic has become incredibly dull.

Agreed. Even though I didn't like The Irishman as much as his previous works, it's still miles above most schlock that comes out these days.
I also feel the same way about Mel Brooks and his comedies (although he hasn't been in the director's chair since Dracula: Dead and Loving It in 1995). One of the best to ever direct.

Hope you're able to read my post when you come back. That interpretation is not only incorrect, but may be the least charitable interpretation of a Scorsese film I've seen so far.
That's like saying Goodfellas and Casino were intended to propagate the idea that all Italians are violent, greedy criminals.
One non-hypothetical, common misinterpretation of Goodfellas/Casino in particular (by concerned moms and gangster wannabes alike) is that they glorify organized crime.
Scorsese's message if anything is the opposite, that crime doesn't pay for many of its characters.

I can't wait to see this! Scorsese is a BEAST with the camera and picking the right actors! Put Deniro and Leo in EVERYTHING as far as I'm concerned! They're MAGIC! I said what I said!
I also hope anyone who complains about historical inaccuracies complains about this because I know there will be liberties taken like with The Revenant. But that's what makes cinema... Cinema... Especially with true stories... Because we're being entertained! And Scorsese is a MASTER!
