Does it feel drastically different from the beta memor... I mean mr_nothin? I'm downloading the demo now (sorry Europe). Setting up a Euro account was easier than I thought.

To me the games controls feel more sluggish than they were in the multiplayer beta, and I put 60+ hours into that. Not a bad thing overall, I'll just have to get use to it and mess with the settings. Games plays great though.

So is it definately normal for the screen to flicker and jolt then?

I'm starting to think I need to change the settings on my TV...even in the option's menu...if I scroll over something (Axis, controls, etc) the whole screen flickers and moves.

It's a design choice I think, and it's awful. I can't even look at the menus for long without it giving me a headache. A simple option to turn that shit off, same with the loading screens movement would have been great. I have no idea why they changed it to this style.

Shit man :( That's messed up. I'm kinda terrified right now. I'm also from the US and I have a 60g PS3. I'm downloading the Euro demo as we speak. I'll let you know if I have any problems on my end....

Well the majority don't have the problem thank goodness.

The worst part is I just got this unit from Sony less than 2 weeks ago.

My first 60GB got the ylod.

One thing that colored me surprised is that the ingame XMB with kz2 is fucking smooth compared to every other game :O

so awesome. (found some new ideas for my theme so nice to check out every single areas and borders and so on :D)

Still have a couple pages of this thread to read, but I wanna say something first.

The running, jumping, and overall mobility feels FUCK-AWESOME. I can't usually say that about many FPS's (looking at you, Resistance 2 and L4D - getting stuck on a tiny obstacle is just a hellish pain in the ass)

I must have downloaded when everyone else was done because i got it at 1mb+/s :P

Anyway i definitely gotta stop watching so much media before playing. the demo didn't had nearly enough impact as the beta did, i've seen this demo a million times before playing it, and the maps on the beta were way more awesome than this :3

I just blew up the bridge with a grenade thee hee

To be fair to L4D, its gameplay is very reliant on quick movement. You're up against hordes of zombies - Killzone 2's weighty controls wouldn't be very welcome.

I got popped in the head and died after soldiers dropped in and before it was game over this helghast soldier saw me and raised his arms in triumph and cheering over my death. Instantly though a flurry of bullets took off his head as his arms were raised...awesome :lol

Woah... I'm gonna go play it a few more times! :D

I love that gun that the helghast on the roof of the room in the warehouse drops. It's a shame there isn't anymore ammo for it in the warehouse. Btw are intel & helghast flags in the demo?

Love the demo. The controls definitely have a bit more weight to them than what i remember from the beta.

The AI is fantastic imo. They're really good to fight against, i can't wait to check out what they're like on harder difficulties.

There was a part where one got the drop on me really good. It was in the warehouse and i was on the ground and the first wave of Helghast dropped in. One of them ran behind cover, i was shooting at him but didn't hit him. Took my attention off him and shot at another Helghan and the first ran off into the room by the stairs. I finished off the second Helghan then ran in the room after the first, i tried to melee him but missed then tried to blind fire and hit him a couple of times while he ran back out of the room, there was fire from some of his allies so i didn't chase after him. He disappeared so i stood in the doorway taking out the others, then all of a sudden i see out of the corner of the screen that helghast went around to the only other entrance from the side and hacked me to death. :lol So great. :D

I never noticed this until now, but what happens to the little circular aiming thing on the end of the ISA assault rifle when you zoom in. Looks like it just disappears to me.

Hahaha...

I like running around the APC and climbing on top of it from the rear while the Helgast is still shooting from the APC turret. I melee him to death.

goddamn.. love this game.. controls are fine.. i used the default controller layout with inverted y axis, a little more speed in turning and i think it works fine..

it reminds me a lot of rainbow six,... which happens to be my favourit shooter.. kinda like a perfect marriage between Rainbow six and CoD4

can't wait for the final game.. i'm going to play this demo a lot.

It feels a little different from the beta, or maybe the controls are different in MP, dunno. Graphics are really much better than MP...I was actually surprised. :P

Guerrilla can change the controls a bit because they can control where the enemies are coming from. MP requires different capabilities for players.

Jesus people, the Gamestop demo is out. It doesn't take all that long to DL either (at least it didn't when I did, traffic maybe worse now though).

Anyways, my only, and mean only gripe with this game so far is this. Gamma adjustability needs another few notches for us with properly calibrated HDTVs, especially on my Super fine pitch CRT. It's way too fucking dark. Cranked up that setting, I still couldn't see that freakin' symbol lol.

As far as I'm concerned, this is easily the best overall presentation any FPS has ever done. The visuals, the animations, the audio is equivalent to Jennifer Aniston whispering in your ear to fuck Isla Fisher harder while she's screaming in pain/pleasure. Not to mention all the little touches to detail you find looking around the environment. Usually I'm not one of those guys that lurk about and look at every little detail, but after noticing little touches here and there, couldn't help myself from being that guy. This put me in the same level of intensity and immersion as Black Hawk Down (the movie) did. It's incredible. GG is remarkable.

And I can't help but smile looking at people trying to adjust to the controls, used to the game holding your hands and aiming for you, I'll catch you guys in MP. :D

After turning up the sensitivity to max, the delayed feeling went away. Fucking LOVE this game.

Couple pictures...

I'm actually happy I don't feel any of the control problems mentioned by SamBishop in his review. To me this controls like a dream really. I guess he was alone in that after all :P

Another observation I made - there is definitely, 101% for sure, some aim assist in the game - Sam, this is definitely true. Not much, but it's there. I'm in the warehouse right now, and when aiming at helghasts from above, I can clearly see how the reticule slows down as it's passing over them.

got full rgb enabled?

This demo is great! I played through the first time with the standard control scheme, but I don't like the controls that way, it reminded me of the standard Resistance control scheme. Then the second playthrough, I changed the settings to:

- Alternate 2
- Zoom hold option on

And bam, the game was suddenly much more satisfying to play. Weird how controls can make a difference huh? Anyway, the game looks and feels great on my full HD TV. The graphics are top notch with very much details to it, and the atmosphere is very awesome. Also, the second time I played through, there was a different conversation when I pulled the guy up onto the lift. Gunplay is nice, but you have to set the controls to the configuration you like. This is a day one purchase for me. Wow, what a great game. Also, I didn't notice that you could help/heal your allies with the '0' button.
