Most important all - gameplay - Well it has quite lot of flaws, example the aiming can be annoy because the control is hard to manage. Sniper aim need steady hand which it is same control as Goldeneye aiming. Like when you shooting, the cross aim will move from the force but it little too much.
AI has sometime buggy, because some helghans don't shoot at all but not that frequency.
Still, I'm happy to played this game after know what's going on this universe and why it isn't big yet. If gameplay easy to bother you, stick with youtube. If old game (Low-tech or buggy) don't bother at all, you could try it out how much it change when KZ2 out.

Well, very short one - At the begins of humans have colonised other plants in the Milky Way. Helghast have always been on the sidelines and moved from Earth to forge a new society but has some decade of their armed forces and living in bad conditions. So they want take over Earth. ISA to stop them.

Who was that general (or was it a sergeant?) that double crossed you and you had to kill him? Was he part of the ISA or Hellghast? I can't remember

Actually it wasn't Earth that the Helghans invaded, it was Vekta. Helghan and Vekta being two colonised planets in the same system with a bit of a 'history'. ISA was the name of the Vektan forces, and you played as them (four playable characters).

The Vektan orbital defences were sabotaged, allowing the Helghan ships to attack Vekta unhindered. Caught by surprise, the scale of the Helghan invasion had the ISA in turmoil. Earth sent it's Navy ships to defend Vekta, but it turns out that the ISA General in charge of the orbital defences was a traitor. He fired the orbital defence weapons against the surface of Vekta in aid of the Helghan surface invasion, and planned to catch the relieving Earth forces off guard and blow them to pieces as they arrived in Vektan orbit. After messing around on the surface of Vekta fighting Helghans for most of the game, your final job was to recapture the orbital defence platforms and stop the Earth forces from being wiped out.
 
freeze fest right now. Thats three games in a row. Still had a blast tonight! So close to general right now. 19 points or so. I actually had that in the one of the games that froze. On the Killzone website, it says I need 67 points. Oh well, either way, that is only two games.

And once again, does anyone know what your rank being in purple means?

Cashmoney? Nah, I'm not sure. I think he was promised something by a Helghast leader, maybe a high position once Vekta was supposed to be conquered.

Pretend you're running a high spec game on a low pc....

Framerate is uneven, everything is not smooth, movement feels a little clunky, controls at times feel like it just doesn't "click", in game voices are terrible.

But it REAKS of atmosphere, great level design, the craziest amount of level variety in a first person shooter ever, cool weapons, one of the first FPS games that don't feel like a floating camera with a gun, awesome reload animations, cool story cool environments.

Basically: If Killzone 1 was on PS3 and got a HD makeover and played like KZ2, it would be be seriously awesome, even if the game sucked, the environments are really really great.
 
Played only three rounds tonight before getting disconnected but was playing with a really good team, it made things so much more enjoyable.

Yes, playing with a good team makes this game so much better. I can tell that Clan Wars are going to be extremely fun!

Yeah the freezing sucked.

For the purple rank, log into the beta website and go to your Military Ranks page. Then hover over the purple Honor Rank ribbon, it tells you what it is. (Not saying what it is due to NDA)

I'm not 100% certain, but I'd be VERY surprised if there were ANY reused samples from Killzone 1 in Killzone 2. I spent a very long (subjectively) period of time thinking of different ways of reacting to someone throwing a grenade at you.

Yea, I dont know what's going on. A lot of weird stuff going on for me. Every game I played, it froze. And that Mad_Midger or w/e his name is...kept shooting me through walls, that guy was BS.

I was doing so bad tonight. My worst night so far

Ok, found out what purple means, lol. It means you are in the top 2-3% in score for the week! That is awesome! I was ranked 20th last week!

Also, 14 points until I level up to General!!!! Would have had it last night if we wouldn't have had all of those freezes last!

Even back then it looks better than anything that's been released so far.

And that level is sooo much more interesting than the one they've shown since. Sure, the one they've been showing is only the first level but the E3 one has many more up close and personal gunfights with the Helghast, so you can see the quality of the animations and gunplay.

I was watching previously released single player levels too lately. I can't wait to see the early December content.

One thing I hope that's been improved since then is the voice acting. I hope what we've heard thus far have only been temporary tracks because they reminded me of those really old Gears of War demos where the voice acting was provided by Epic employees before they laid down the real tracks with professional voice actors.

Everything else is just so cinematic, they need to nail the VA too.

I think that if GG is going to release a demo then it should be like the Warhawk demo where you get to play one map, a few classes and weapons, and one mode (perhaps body count or something) for 10 minutes. Let people be wowed by the multiplayer visuals (as they really are better than most games) and then players will be completely floored once they see the single player visuals.

Honestly, I think that for the rest of this generation only Sony will be able to outdo this level of work. I can't see any third party (outside of Epic) able to do anything like this, and MS doesn't seem to be very dedicated to really pushing its internal studios.

This is the first gen I recall hearing this argument. Support the devs and buy the game. I never look at split screen over a solid SP/MP.

Well in all fairness, this is the gen where splitscreen has really fallen to a back seat because of increased online console gaming functionality..

I seldom play games by myself; it's always with friends at the house. It's a real dealbreaker when a game like this doesn't have local multi.
 
I have to say though, splitscreen and co-op are a fantastic way of getting people who don't own the game to get into it easily and swing them toward a purchase via word of mouth. This game has neither and I personally think it will affect the legs this title has.
