This is the one game that I feel that the enemies are celebrated more than the heroes. Look at any KZ2 poster, picture, or artpiece, and it's usually of the Helghan army. It's not a complaint, it's just a general observation. Kind of cool.
I feel like it's way more important for a game like this to have more iconic enemies than heroes. If you were on the other side than the one you play as, the game would seem way more generic. Constantly having well designed enemies around definitely makes the game stand out more.

I've always preferred the locusts in gears, I really liked the way they look and sound. Helghasts are on another level, they are not just beasts/enemies, they are smart (AI) and know how to fight. Can't wait to play this game on elite and see how are they behaving on the field.

For those who have the full game are the helghast more aggressive on higher difficulties and will it give me a good challenge?. The AI is amazing in demo but never to the point of being threatening. I'm not tooting my own horn here but fps have been my favourite genre since i can remember and i pretty much can complete any fps game on any difficulty with ease. I will still Love the game regardless but would be nice to have a good challenge.

Demos are typically set to easy/easier difficulties in order to welcome in new players and not turn them off.

I wouldn't worry. Plus, after playing games like Resistance and Halo 3 on their harder difficulties, I've realized that despite dying more often, you'll get way more enjoyment out of the game if you start it on a harder difficulty. That way you get to really appreciate the AI and see it in its full glory.

I believe Veteran is the hardest setting you can play out the box and I will be using this difficulty for my first play through. I'm not sure if I will play again on Elite or immediately jump in to the MP component.

Thats dumb. I like to enjoy my games, and not get insanely frustrated with them on the first playthrough. I want to take in the atmosphere, and not get killed every 2 seconds.

Remember, is this era, Hard is the new Normal.

If you play KZ2 on Normal, you are actually playing it on Easy.

For reference, McBacon completed the game (1st playthrough) on Veteran in about 8 hrs.

Then you are absolutely free to decrease the difficulty...and I totally see where you're coming from. Which is why I typically start out on normal, and then go through a second time harder. But some people are looking for more than the story, some are looking for a challenge.

And to me, after playing some high profile FPS games and nearly having them put me to sleep because the lack of challenge, it sometimes makes more sense to start out on harder difficulties.

Assuming that the difficulty in the demo was on normal, I'm definitely going to bump it up a notch.

It's not like I'm an expert player or anything, after playing Resistance 2 I had to actually bump the difficulty down a notch because I initially set it too high. I think it has more to do with odd scenario design in that game that is full of ambushes, but I won't go into that in this thread. :)

Speaking of which, I thought the scenario was great in the demo. Despite being like a 2 minute demo there were intense times, slow times, but it all felt very consistent and never exceeding a certain threshold.

Yes, Normal is confirmed to unlock Elite.
Excellent. Will cruise through the vistas on normal before fucking up Elite Helghasts on my second playthrough.

One of the perks of a concise SP campaign, I guess. :p

Not really, because most games seem to be too easy for casual gamers on the normal setting. I remember back in the day games on Nintendo & Genesis were hard as hell and you would not dream of playing the game on hard. It seems like games now are too easy just to be more accessible to the masses. Typically the normal setting is too easy and the most difficult setting is too frustrating so that hard setting tends to be just right for the hardcore gamers. That's my 2 cents.

Bomb! Missile! Missile! Earthquake! Bomb! Mines! Fuck! Missile! :lol Is not accessible to the masse.
Then the devs patch it because it's a little too hard. I'm still struggling with it, but I understand what you are saying man. The hard level must be really hard and rewarding. To each his own.

I said influence I didn't say copy infringement. :lol
what aspect of the design is influenced? because all the similarities i see between the two designs are their tank-like features (treads, armor, mounted gun). otherwise the designs are quite different. i used to play 40k, btw.

edit:

see what i mean by 'quite different'?

The way the treds are covered and the gun mount seem similar. I don't know if it was really influenced by such, it could just be that they're both APC's, I don't know enough about APC's to comment.

Noob question: How does playing with your friends work in Killzone 2? Do you just join your friend, then the game keeps you together for the next match? Or what?

Such a long explanation. :lol

Really you need a video, I do not have anything to make one really so maybe someone can post one.

The emblem is in a different area toward the back, this is the bridge at the beginning. Its a very long bridge too.

EDIT: Will try to type, one moment.
EDIT: Nevermind, thats to video poster. :D
