1) The melee animations with the guns are horrible.

2) The death animations are so dumb. Most of the time they don't reflect the gunfire at all.

The first is debateable, but as for #2, really?

The models interact amazingly with every single shot that hits them. It's weird in MP, but in single player it's like perfectly cinematic..

I agree with you on both points but I understand why #2 happens. Since the characters have to transition into the waving for a medic animation they need to fall in a specific way so that the move from the death animation to the in need of aid animation isn't jolting. I'm pretty sure that both will be less noticeable in actual gameplay as well.

It's been mentioned a lot. I'm pretty sure that Guerilla was working on a fix for this in the final game.
 
The death animation delay is only a mp issue though (viewing the sp footage I got it's always instantaneous). Some latency ordeal with the dedicated servers somehow.

Not true the delay animation is due to the fact, that we can be respawn by medics and your character make signs to other player to revive him.
If you shot him before count down is over (yes it's vicious) he is instantly dead...

problem is/was that if you killed someone, for instance with a shotgun shot, you hear the sound that you killed someone, but the death animation starts half a second later--- the guy you killed stands there for a fraction of a second and then the animation starts...and this locks very strange

The NDA is still watertight, I'm afraid. The only relaxing of embargo's going down relates to the PRESS not the Beta Testers.

I would think the death animation lag is because you can get revived in multiplayer while in single player when you kill someone they're dead and that's it no reviving/reaching to the sky animation in single player.

The overall design in KZ2 is of course awesome, but whats really awesome is the consistency. Awesomeness awesome.

Dream game is something from Guerrilla that is primarily built for OTSV but gives the option (on the fly) to jump into FPWV.

Kind of like the first bullshit GRAW video from E3 a few years back, the one that Ubi was never able to match with their actual game (and yet got no shit for, despite the Killzone 2 target video taking all that heat)...

ISA scout design is truly something special :D

EDIT: Imagine Naughty Dog teaming up with GG to do a Killzone Third-person shooter, with another/new leading character perhaps. A new narrative in the KZ universe. The new third-person perspective would symbolize the new angle of the story . . .

This game is so 'metal' imagine this : Blasting some MP rounds with some Ramnstein, NiN ,Rob Zombie ,Metal Church,Metallica ,Megadeth ... AWESOME MAN!

I've never used custom tracks, or played other music during a game... although I've muted a few games that had really annoying music.

I miss the Killzone 1 melee... but I guess that wouldn't really work in MP. They need to have more force.
 
Do you automatically go into the mode of waiting for a medic when you get killed? Say if I shoot someone in the head do they automatically go down and cant call for a medic?

I only used on High Velocity Bowling... Oasis and Deep Purple :D

I don't think headshots do it. Explosions will totally kill though. Also, if a grenade goes off near you while you're laying on the ground you will die.

When they're being shot, they react just fine.

The problem is death. When they die, they flail around a little bit, and when that animation kicks in, shooting has zero effect, which ruins it (for me).

It's most obvious when a rocket/explosive hits a person, causing him to spin around a bit, rather than get tossed away from the impact.

I wouldn't really call pointing out the death animations as trolling. In every video that showcase the ridiculous delay and "jumping"/teleporting of the bodies, it really REALLY sticks out, unfortunately.
 
I hope GG will fix the MP death animation where you die, fall on the ground and the character literally slides to the "medic help me" animation. That looks really awkward.
 
I am so eager to play this game. I have one question, do you get any bonus for kill streaks, or is there an notification that you have certain kills in a row?

Well, as I said above... it's one of the two things that bother me (both things are animations) and the rest of the game looks great.


It just seems dumb that a game with such high production values has such an easy problem.

The shotgun is horrid. It's only useful up close and anyone that has spent a good deal of time with that rifle I posted will cream a shotgun player.

I get a lot more kills with the shotgun then I do with the rifle, I guess its not that way for everyone. But still the sniper rifle owns everything
