cakefoo said:Erm... there's no trickery. It's just true motion blur. Videos don't hide the trickery or flaws. You can look at screenshots and everything looks 100% natural.
If you want exaggerated motion blur, see Crysis:

Looks more like the tree and gun were being shot out of a cannon, rather than slowly tipping down or waving, doesn't it? It's also a buzzkill to notice static background objects being smeared. Also, look at the edge of the gun- a common flaw in most games' motion blur, which Killzone 2 doesn't suffer from because it doesn't rely on cheats. Most games' blur looks like a 2D picture smeared and badly photoshopped into the frame. Killzone 2's blur, on the other hand, takes no such shortcuts.
Cell processor, perhaps? I don't know how KZ2 does it. I can assure you that you are entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't make it true.
That got me thinking if it was necessary either... But part of the assist is that it's so simple to take and come out of cover. Press the stick to come out, let go of it to go right back to cover. Leaning left or right out of cover keeps the lower half of your body protected, which could be important to beat the game on the later levels/higher difficulty.Knox said:Just played the demo. I don't see the point of a cover system. What's wrong with crouching and strafing for cover? It just seems like something to put next to a bullet point. Other than that I thought it was good.
Goodman, and let it be known I love the default controls now.bcn-ron said:Let it be known that I'm maintaining my preorder.

Don't be a troll, he's comparing the 2 games use of motion blur.kiUNiT said:So does KZ2 look better than the screen of Crysis that you posted?
I will have to use alt 2 in mp, but for sp its default.Ploid 3.0 said:That picture isn't a good example of Crysis' graphics.
I changed over to alt2. I like zoom on L1. Darn cod4 and R2. I don't melee much in the sp demo.
I have no desire to debate that. I only posted the shot to show the flaws in videogame motion blur.kiUNiT said:So does KZ2 look better than the screen of Crysis that you posted?

SumGamer said:Only spent 5 mins with the demo so far, stunning indeed. A question, what happen to shoot the cover and it will break feature? I've emptied a mag and it'sstill fucking solid, even granade still.
So is there a difference between pushing up and just letting go of crouch? I tried using the cover system the first time but I just played again and ignored it, for me it worked much better this time.alr1ghtstart said:Love the cover system. Cover, push up, zoom in, headshot city. It's why the default controller system works best (it feels strange holding up + L1+L2 in alt.2).
Yeah it works really well,I can do it with ease now.Ploid 3.0 said:I use it in the demo.

How big is the demo to download and all i need to do to get it is make a euro account right? thanks
Sounds greatkiUNiT said:Thanksl I should get a chance to see it first hand later tonight.
Yeah I feel Crysis has the "We looked at a Caribbean vacation photos and tried to make the closest facsimile" Vs. Killzone 2's "We watched awesomely stylized Sci-Fi films and recreated that."FoxSpirit said:Granted, I only saw HD videos so far but... KZ2's lighting engine is superb. Utterly superb.Yes, I dare to say better than Crysis which lloks outstanding in many ways but the lighting athmosphere KZ2 creates is breathtaking.
In your opinion.tale said:The awful controls were a real barrier for me

And yeah.
tale said:The awful controls were a real barrier for me - even with the Alt. 2 config - and I didn't think the combat was all that good - it felt a lot like Resistance 2 but with much better graphics.
I do like the fact the Helgast have robo-Cockney accents though ... I might just rent it for that reason alone.
They react to it, just not all the time.Gully State said:I found it comical that you can shoot off the helmet of the Helghast and they don't notice.
