What was the deal with the Uncharted early release? Did it just kind of happen or was there an announcement about it? I didn't have a PS3 at that point so I don't know and was wondering how similar of a case it is. With LBP I just got a call from Gamestop saying that I could pick it up and the date was a few days early.

You could probably put whatever skin on the Helghast that you wanted, as long as the animations and sound bites remain I think they would still be a very rewarding foe.
That gives me a hilarious idea. Reskin all the helghast as pop stars. That way I can kill Christina Aguilara, Brittney Spears, Rihanna, K-Fed, Soulja Boy, Madonna and all the other stupid F***s without actually formulating a plan to actually do it IRL. Plus they get to live, so it's win/win. :D

That's because MM/Sony did that last minute recall. Gamestop was just "nice" enough to sell the new copies when they showed up since the game was supposed to out for over a week already.

Rachet and clank did it as well. I don't think there was ever an annoucement, they just did it. I never heard anything at least, I just got a call.

It just kinda showed up without much fanfare or announcement it was like..."Hey Gamestop, and EB are selling em" I called, and then picked it up. Talking about Uncharted here...Maybe there was a blog announcement, but I think I just read it here.

What is the grey market? Otherwise known as people stealing it and selling it on the streets? I'm just not familiar with this term at all..

No that's the black market. I think the grey market is stores selling it earlier than the street date. Someone'll correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure. :lol

HOLY SHIT

This multiplayer map!

I don't think it was in the Beta, but its like some crazy Shanty town bridge in the middle of the water. Its like some crazy Fallout 3 shit, I'm going out of my mind at some of the design in this game.

Nope, but I think its merely that the servers are offline.
Cool, fair and good decision by GG/Sony. That's also means imo, that we will not see KILLZONE 2 official release before 25/02 ;(

Guerrilla deserve to be praised for their technical achievements, the game is well beyond anything else on consoles and indeed there are things KZ2 does that Crysis doesn't. However, I'm fortunate enough to have been able to upgrade my PC very recently and I can say that there is nothing,
NOTHING
, on this Earth that even approaches Crysis. I've been trying to find stuff to try on the PC to satisfy my graphics whorishness as much as it did, but it hasn't been fruitful. Not even demoscene stuff. :/ Thing is, it's really a 2011 game that happened to come out on 2007. Perhaps by then there'll be PCs to play it at a smooth 1080p60.

Sound, however, has impressed me more in KZ2 than in any other game, truly amazing. That, and the whole sense of so much stuff going on at the same time. It's war out there!

yeah, I agree. I think what throws a lot of people off is that there's just so much going on in KZ2 that other games feel STATIC in comparison, which is why they think the graphics are better even if some games do a few little things better. Without going too much into comparison territory, I've recently played a few of the higher profile FPS games on the 360 & PS3 and the air just feels stagnant, buildings are a bit too square (even if textures rock out), but most importantly, it doesn't really feel like a warzone even with enemies coming out of the ground while you're defending your mates giant vehicles...

This game destroys absolutely every game on the market even crysis, the lighting is just unbelievable :O

Destroys? Um, no. It's definitely a fantastic-looking game, but the market has come a long way with titles like Gears 2, Uncharted, and even sports games such as MLB 09: The Show (I won't even bring Crysis into the discussion, because if you think KZ2 destroys Crysis you have a shitty rig or you're completely delusional).

The funny thing is, I think KZ2 has pretty closely approximated the initial E3 video that created such an uproar. It's just that visuals in general have come a long way since then (at that point, COD2 was actually considered a pretty good-looking game, if I remember correctly).

In any event, I think the real success of KZ2, based on the demo, is that it actually seems like it's going to be a really fun game with all of the necessary "accoutrements" (playability, level design, enemy AI, etc.).

Okay, I'm going to shut up now. This is a dead horse.

I was thinking about that kind of reasoning myself indeed. The AK-74 is still regularly used despite having been designed in the '70s after all. But as you said, it's not perfect. Assuming the Earth population stops fighting right now and starts living on cannabis for the next 300 years, you'd still have something more advanced than what we see in KZ2. At least double fire weapons :P

Well there are rifles that were designed more than a hundred years ago and still are in use today (the Lee Enfield for example). Taking into account that the ISA is described more as a militia than a high-tech army they aren't that off imo. Technology may very well be much more advanced on Earth compared to this conflict in a remote system/colony.

Destroys everything else may work with all others except crysis. But, it does say much to say that it really comes down to art style and settings tastes that will determine your choice. Crysis is still a killer looking game, and moves nicely too when on a proper gaming rig, it does say much though that a $400 closed box can do what it does. Outside of the initial cost of the PS3, I have to say, it's become my most respected machine. And that's Pre-Uncharted 2 LOL.

That does make sense. It looks like the old stoner got "Idubbed". Bullpup is the way to go with rifles, and the old Stoner design needs to go. Next biggest breakthrough will probably be in the form of "projectiles" if anything. H&K basically perfected the Stoner top-end, and Sig perfected the AK blowback. Now they need to take their systems and apply them to a bullpup design (though HK saved the L95 rifle already, they said that they need to do a ground up to make something perfect).

Corinth Crossing gets you hot, eh? Wait till Visari Hammer, that is all kinds of AFW.

I was pretty amazed at the barbed wire?? was i the only one? hahaha. I was trying to see if it was moving with the impacts of the explosions or it just had the same animation loop. But damn, the details are what make this game.

I'll try this next

I fucking love the multiplayer, cannot wait to play without these people who never talk and all have the world [BOT] in their PSN name,

So I think the word on the street is that the Press Kit from late Jan isn't compatible online, but the Promo Retail one that people like me and nofi got is compatible.

Is that about right?
That is correct.

FINALLY. I dropped by "The Garage" yesterday and my friends had replaced our busted projector with another. Took these with my cellphone, so I apologize for the quality.

I never got the hype on Crysis...bought the game, hacked the config to run on very high and was like, umm this doesnt look that good.....until I got my hands on some uber config and ToD shit...now that shit blew my mind.

Crysis on high is not that impressive IMO. But get your self a nice config and the game is beyond anything I have seen.

Wait, hold up. I was gone for a few hours, seems like a lot happened. Did some people get the game early?

And if so, is there something I don't know?

Yeah some vids are on youtube of people unboxing it as well.

I don't know if I can say, I don't want to get anyone in trouble. I will say tht it's 100% legal, and that it wasn't from a store.

OK guys is there some type of secret society type of thing going on here among the elite:lol

I want in. How, where, why, and when can I get this game. I want it now, please, pretty please

:lol

CONCEPT:
Continue the war against the Helghast in the best‑looking shooter on the PS3
GRAPHICS:
Phenomenal visuals shine a spotlight on this system’s capabilities
SOUND:
Sound effect work is a standout success, while the constantly shouted voice acting leaves a little to be desired
PLAYABILITY:
Numerous control schemes and the clean only-shows-up-when-needed HUD are both welcome
ENTERTAINMENT:
Intense, frantic, and technically polished, this is a great addition to Sony’s lineup of exclusives
REPLAY:
Moderately High

Weird, the review is barely negative, but yet its only 8.75. Seems it would be higher off of the summary alone. Hmm ah well, doesn't detract me from getting the game.

thanks loudninja
