Kinect Preorder ~$89 shipped at TRU with sale code right now

I have a feeling it will end up at $99.99 anyway, so saving $10 or so (CA) doesn't seem worth it. Nice find though, especially if it stays $150.

Damn it. Doesn't seem to work with Dualshock 3 controller. Need another on after spilling water on it.
Really?

I just got mine for $34 shipped :D

I applied one code at the start, and the second at the page before they confirm your order. It went through smoothly for me.

Damn wireless 360 controllers for $29 .. Tempting for whenever I pick up a 360 S

Oh shit Hori 360 fight stick $29.99 ... Tempting as shit, might buy and mod lol

Didn't bite on Kinect but picked up a 360 play & charge kit and Wii Classic Controller Pro for basically cost of shipping/tax cause I've been sitting on a $25 TRU gift card for a while.

Bought. Just hope they honor it, and that microsoft releases something more enticing than that weird Milo pedo game.
Just kidding Peter.

This is kind of important: are you charged immediately for the preorder? I can't remember with Toys'R'Us, and it would make the responsible vs. good sale question I'm having a lot easier.

Thanks, Golem. Holy crap, glad I jumped on it. The second code already doesn't work anymore, and that tweet's going to draw a lot of attention to it.

Now I wonder if TRU will be forced to cancel it, or forced to honor it.

Quick quote from the order summary, for anyone who wanted direct proof about the non-immediate charge:

Your credit or debit card will not be charged until your item(s) is shipped, at which time we will email you tracking information. Before your item(s) is shipped, your debit or credit card statement may show what looks like a deduction from your account. Please note, these funds have not been deducted but are being reserved within your account to ensure your order can be processed. This is known as an "authorization hold" and typically lasts from 3-7 days, depending upon the policy of your bank.

I won't pay $150, $100, or $50 for this thing.... I have zero interest in Kinect. I don't play the stupid motion control gimmick games for my Wii, therefore I don't see myself playing motion control gimmick games for my 360.

I mean did anyone else see the Forza preview.... That stuff looked miserable to play.

Then what legitimate reason did you have to enter the topic, or even reply following that? There's an obvious reason, but not a legitimate one.

For this preorder, you won't be charged until it ships, correct?

See #61. To my understanding, you're not billed until about 3-7 days before they ship it, where they put a hold on your account for the amount so it's ready when they go to actually charge it.

Edit: You already got it.

Zero interest?

And yet you've wasted yours and everyone else time telling us how much you hate kinect this thing your not interested in. :lol

I saw this earlier, and I got in on one.

Had $22 in credit there, cost me $74 out the door. Extremely happy about this. Should be honored I'd guess. I can't see them taking this one back
famous last words though, right..

Shit. Haven't been following Kinect too closely because of the price point.

Is there any concrete word on how much room you need to use it? Living in a NYC apartment here.

I wouldn't even bother with the second code. Only use one to avoid them trying to cancel your order (possibly) for having 2 codes.
:|... Wish I had read this beforehand.

Only 89 for me since it's shipping to DC. Wasn't planning on buying a Kinect but it's worth it at that price just for the dance games and interface stuff.

Funny how much more excited I became for Kinect after seeing a price point less than $100. Ordered, really hope it goes through because the $150 price was kind of bumming me out. Let's goooo Toys R Us! I'm thinking it might work because instead of a simple pricing error this time, it's just taking advantage of a coupon code that they're even advertisting on their site.

Used a $10 GC I had sitting in my wallet as well, hopefully that'll give me some staying power.

Thanks for the heads up. Second code didn't work for me, but the 40% off one did. $89 and then after NJ sales tax the total came out to $96.29.

I doubt TRU will honor this but it's worth a shot.

thats what the price shouldve been without a bundled game

dont cancel this toys r us, or i might have to knock something over in november

Part of me hates myself for buying this, but I can't pass up a good deal like this. At least I won't feel to bad if they cancel them. :D

I just called up customer service at TRU just to make sure this was legit and they were surprised at what a deal it was so they called in a supervisor and he said it was mistake and that it would get fixed by the morning.

j/k, but you know some idiot has probably already done this
Why the hell would you do something like that?

I think at this point, with the thousands of orders, tweets, retweets, etc., that there isn't any way this will go "under the radar". Either they'll accept it or not at this point, I don't think even someone calling them is going to suddenly raise a flag. I'm guessing this will get taken down at some point today, or Kinect will become "temporarily unavailable" for the rest of the day.

Problem is, most game accessories are high margin products. Kinect, on the other hand, seems to be selling at cost.

I'm curious what their reasoning for cancellation would be though, unless there's some fine print somewhere saying that coupon codes can't be used on pre-order items. It's still a video game accessory, so it'd be hard for them to say it's an error somewhere. But they can also cancel orders for any reason, so we'll see.

Their fine print reads that they can cancel or change the terms of the discount at their own discretion.

Also, to those wondering why they seem to have been charged -

Your credit or debit card will not be charged until your item(s) is shipped, at which time we will email you tracking information. And they said hardcore gamers wouldn't buy Kinect. :lol
Add a 40% or more sale on the shittiest of shit and people will buy it just for the fuck of it.

Hell, even I added it on cart, went through the whole checkout process for the fuck of it (cause I live in Canada and the offer wasn't available there).
