King of Fighters XIV Burn to Fight (CE) Announced for NA on PS4

Is there any particular reason this isn't coming to Xbox One? Sony didn't have any part in it's development, did it?

Simple: There's no market for fighters on Xbox One.

They tried that last generation with Xbox 360 with most fighters...look what happened.

but the 360 did fine for fighters. The PS4 is just so far ahead of market share with Xbox this gen it isn't worth for a lot of these niche games to go to Xbox.

Wasn't 360 main console for marvel and sf for most of last gen though at evo?

Only because those versions ran the best. FGC is platform agnostic for the most part. Many people preferred PS3 early on because they were coming from PS2 and it was easy to get sticks working.

I think 360 did fine for SF and probably Marvel. Anime games would have been a split similar to JRPGs, I'd imagine.

Not sure how Namco games fared.

Already preordered the japanese version 'cause I'm a filthy weaboo but it's awesome they do stuff like that for other markets. Good value, too.

They'd sell a lot more of these if they switched the main cover art with the soundtrack art.

Is this the same thing as the Gamestop steelbook preorder? Like will I get the artbook there or do I need to cancel and preorder elsewhere?

Listed on amazon. Just not available yet.

Thanks! Now we wait.

Yeah that Kyo art is not my favorite...
Yeah...very poor choice. They have 50 fighters in the game and they choose the main dude with a very meh art selection. SNKpls

All pre orders come with the steel book. This is a separate edition of the game.

Now I wait for it to go up for the 1 hour I'm busy and be sold out.

Come on now, it's Atlus, not Nintendo. I don't think you'll have to worry.

I hope this comes to Europe too. If so day one

Same, but it's published by Atlus. Given their current Euro publisher issues, that fact makes me slightly doubtful that we'll get the same package, if we get a special edition at all.

I might pre-order the American version when it's listed on Amazon and see what happens.

EDIT: And it seems I won't even be able to do that.

It's listed and hasn't gone up yet.

The only reason why the Xbox 360 versions of games such as SF IV & it's iterations, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3/Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 & Mortal Kombat 9 were used in the majority of fighting game tournaments, was because they ran better on that platform than on PS3.

Besides those, every other fighter ran just as well on PS3.

No in store pre-orders for gamestop yet...maybe up tomorrow.

For $80 tho, I'm in. I cane help but feel like i'm getting less tho considering XIII came with 4 disk OST for retail of the game. I guess the Artbook and Steelbook make up for that? to each their own.

Eh, not to make your decision more difficult or anything, but XIII's soundtrack was free with preorders. That alone probably made it better than the ones packed into most LEs to this day.

It was a weird time. Street Fighter IV arcade cabinets ran on Windows XP Embedded so I think the programming environment lent itself better to 360 versions. Now it's pretty much all PS4 except for Smash, UMvC3, and Killer Instinct.

I'd love to get this but EU and Atlus.

Come on Deep Silver!

Amen to that!

I don't get it, she ain't always on the cover?

After the "no Mai no buy" reactions to XII, it seems like SNK has no choice but to make sure Mai stays visible in most of the promotional material, regardless of her competitive tier or story relevance.

I'm surprised none of the Maximum impact characters made it to this game... I actually dig some of them :/

Maybe some of the outfits will make it - Mai's MI2 alt was nice.

I agree. No one cares about Ultra SF IV anymore (especially not with the hardcore SF fans who disliked SF IV from the start), & the only reason of bringing out the Xbox 360 now is for UMvC 3, because sadly, it'll never be ported.

i was gonna go with the CE for the steelbook but i just noticed the bonus offer from amazon is a steelbook so all is good and i can stop hitting refresh

I was honestly expecting to spend more on this so this is a surprise. I'm going to wait on amazon to preorder my copy and if I can't then hopefully I can get it somewhere else.

Thanks to the prime discount this brings it to just over normal retail price. Which is a hell of a deal for the soundtrack alone. What we've heard so far has been amazing.
