I read somewhere that the post credit scene with the bros is in-game graphics rather than CGI. Is that true?
Nope, it's CG, exactly like the small clip we've seen from the game where Regis sends off Noctis.

But, how come Nyx is still loyal to Regis? Is it because he was indebted to the King for saving his life when he was young?
An awkward smile animation doesn't wipe away all of the great facial animation presented so far otherwise. FFXV's tech is capable of some really good facial animation, even if it has some weaknesses like awkward smiling (which, to be frank, is the downfall of many games' facial animations, so FFXV isn't alone in that). It also doesn't mean that your dumb argument of "Luna has smooth skin so she can't emote" is any more true.Yes it is. First of all, it's especially prevalent when characters are doing things like smiling. It looks so awkward and almost creepy.
It's better than average Japanese games for sure, but definitely not what I'd call top notch, (especially not the english version). It's not even that their skin is too smooth, they seemingly don't have blend shapes for things like cheeks. Even weirder because child Noctis does during that dinner scene. And as someone said above, Regis as well.
Somebody ask Nomura what he thinks of Kingsglaive.

Nomura : " what's a kingsglaive?"
It seems the XV team is banned from mentioning Nomura and Nomura is banned from talking about anything relating to XV.. Noctis for KH3 please.
I still believe that all of this should have been part of the actual game, especially since the story in Kingsglaive seems so much more interesting than what we know about the game's scenario.
Nomura's dead silence on XV is one of the things that concern me most. Has he said anything significant in the past 2 years?
On a related note, I wonder if Nomura had any involvement with Kingsglaive seeing as he directed Advent Children.
WAIT A MINUTE. I just realized there might be a chance that Driver-san is still in Kingsglaive.
Never forget.
Kingsglaive isn't some completely separate story. Whatever elements are in Kingsglaive are a big part of FFXV's story as well, since Kingsglaive doesn't actually resolve anything. We just haven't seen much of that since Tabata seems to be really keen on spoiling as little of the story as possible past the first chapter of the game. Still, there will definitely be more Kingsglaive/Versus XIII tone stuff in FFXV. That'll just mostly happen after the first chapter once shit starts hitting the fan and Noctis & Co start getting embroiled deeper and deeper in the schemes of Niflheim.I still believe that all of this should have been part of the actual game, especially since the story in Kingsglaive seems so much more interesting than what we know about the game's scenario.

And Cor could very well replace that driver. His VA is the same as the driver's, but it's never been explicitly stated that Driver-san has been replaced.
First, the bolded, what are you talking about, many triple A games have gotten that right since last gen. Let alone the beginning of this gen to the current day. Honestly, when you look it, what's great about it, faces shift unnaturally from word to word, (this has been the case in a lot of SE's english lip sync for a while). You should stop misquoting me btw:An awkward smile animation doesn't wipe away all of the great facial animation presented so far otherwise. ^FFXV Luna in-game looks like they have trouble getting her model to emote correctly due to the lack of things like facial wrinkling.
It must be incredibly awkward seeing all those scenes cut out of the game and repurposed for a film. I can't imagine he's super happy about how the whole situation turned out regardless of the quality. Didn't he want multiple XV games?Somebody ask Nomura what he thinks of Kingsglaive.
No it isn't. You're just plain out wrong with your silly "their skin is smooth so they cannot emote" BS. Sure, it's not perhaps on the level of Uncharted 4 or something, but there's still some really good, top-notch facial animation in FFXV.

If it had to e episodic then they wouldn't be able to call it FF XV I guess. And about FF VII Remake be episodic... UGH.
Sure they could have. FFXV, FFXV-2, FFXV-3. Boom.

It's not that simple. The difference is that the Remake is a sure fire success. An episodic FFXV isn't.PSY・S;209571114 said:I wonder if making the game episodic like FF7R would've been enough to save Nomura's original vision.
That would be horrible. It's different than FF X and XIII where at least we can just ignore their sequels because we have a conclusive story in their respective first games. We would buy FF XV knowing that in the end we would get a "To be continued...".

Tabata basically confirmed it by saying he wanted one game. FFXV simply couldn't be episodic in Sqaure Enix's eyes, so saying that it would have "saved" the original vision is a hypothetical that doesn't make sense.PSY・S;209571804 said:Wasn't that already the case with Versus, though? You guys wanna make a separate thread to discuss current gen mocap and facial expressions?
(Not being snide, I think it's actually an interesting topic but every other post being about FFXV's faces is kinda derailing, especially when the thread isn't even about FFXV the game)

Yes, but Versus was an spin off title. If FF XV becomes a sucess they will probably make sequels, but it will mostly like be the same case as FF X-2 and XIII-2.

Yes and no.
2008-2011 - Nomura would play with the idea of Versus being a new sub FF brand of sorts, but never explicitly said it would be multiple sequels or confirmed that.
2013 - When the game was rebranded we got "The World of the Versus Epic" tagline and Nomura confirmed there would be sequels.
I very much doubt that. I don't think they're that invested in XV specifically. They want it to be a good game, so that people take the single-player entries of the franchise seriously again. They want it to sell well because both the game and it's technology have been a bit of a cash sink. They want to finish it so they can prove they can after a decade. But I'm pretty confident this is it for this specific world/fiction.
Sure they could have. FFXV, FFXV-2, FFXV-3. Boom.
Maybe, but they would need to only re-use assets from the first game (the world, characters, etc) and create some things new, exactly like they did with FF X-2. Only if FF XV exceed expectations of course.
They would have been eaten alive if "FFXV" consisted of just the Insomnia invasion and the game ended when Noctis and co get out of the city. It works for VII-R because we already know how big the material is and how everything pans out in the original game, but I don't think the first bits of FFXV (Insomnia invasion and getting to Altissia) would have worked well as a standalone game.
Althought I guess Nomura could have wanted to tell a full story in one game and then have multiple side stories told by spin-offs that eventually lead into a proper sequel to the main story, like he does in Kingdom Hearts. And we would have been stuck with the XV world for years. Because S-E was actually conscious that XIII-2 and LR would be smaller games than XIII and they would need less development costs, but a potential XV-2 and XV-3, with Nomura's vision, would have been to hold up to the first game in terms of content, development time and care.

I still think it's silly to think that FFVIIR:E1 would just be the Midgar section. They said every episode would be as big as one of the FFXIII games roughly, so around 40-60 hours mainline story. So, 40 hours of only Midgar?

That's my bad. Always interested in technical discussions. Speaking of the film, does anyone have any thoughts on what we've heard of the actors so far?You guys wanna make a separate thread to discuss current gen mocap and facial expressions?

Sure, but in a way that FFXV(-1) would have a story with a proper end and the sequels would tackle other stories that maybe tie to what happens in the first game, but aren't necessarily straight continuation or at least the kind of continuation that would have ended with a "to be continued..." in FFXV-1.PSY・S;209571804 said:Wasn't that already the case with Versus, though?
