XB has made tons of improvements lately. The one hole they still have for me is Japanese games. They have made some improvements by getting things like Nier on XB, but a lot of Japanese games are still missing. It will be interesting to see if they can get more traction with Japanese games with a move like working with Kojima.

No but neither cost 100 million to make and the first 12 months of a consoles launch doesn't require massive industry defining games to move hardware.
Case in point: Try to get a PS5.
Jim Ryan probably looks at the budget Kojima wanted and thinks "I'd rather use that on a better gamble."

most likely not, and I honestly hope not... Death Stranding looked barely any better than MGS5 while being way less complex in terms of AI on the map and physics. MGS5 meanwhile ran at 60fps while DS ran at 30fps... so yeah, no thx.

- Abandoned was announced.
- Theories exploded about being a Kojima's game because you know Blue Box never released a game before and from nothing they show a game exclusive to PS5.
- To counter the theories Grubb's Xbots created the news theory that Abandoned can't be a Kojima's game because he is having a tea time with Uncle Phil.

After MLB, i am beginning to consider picking up an xsx. My PC should be better than the xsx, but you know how I have to throttle it to make sure it doesnt overheat which brings my performance down to 2070 levels or below the xsx.
If MS gets RE8 next month, i might pick up a xsx if i can get my hands on it.
TBH, this is the Microsoft I wanted. Going all in with big bucks and investing with talented devs like Kojima essentially writing them a blank check. As long as they dont ditch gaming like Google did with Stadia, I think I am gonna like this new Microsoft.

I get that the headlines are shocking, hype inducing, and Sony (again) has egg on their face. All of that is true.

Matt from npc era and nate drake kinda sorta confirmed it's what they've heard. I get it, it seems unlikely but it's probably true. Sony is asleep at the wheel at the moment and/or this deafening silence will wind up not living up to anything. As a PlayStation only gamer it's just stunning to see Sony's willingness to do Jack all with brand power at the moment.
