"Rage faces" are fucking embarrassing to see someone post.
Also, laughing at the dude getting literally offended over video games. Wow.
"Rage faces" are fucking embarrassing to see someone post.
They had two straight E3's to drop bombs totally uncontested.
They're not going to start now.
Nintendo bring it HARD this E3.
Yeah. Their UE3 experience was part of why GungHo bought them as well.
Does the next Mario or Zelda run on Unreal Engine 4?
Oh wait.
Mark Rein is a cock and the manbabies that hang off his nuts aren't worth my time.
Honestly, I don't think the Wii or Wii U's success was ever going to be with third party support. It's a machine that is specifically targeted at a different crowd. On one hand it uses a "gimmick" (I'm growing to dislike this word) to attract a mass crowd, and on the other it relies on its hardcore followers who come for first party games.Honestly, I'd be fucking contempt with full-on JP support and said support actually making it over here, you can keep your western games, but JP doesn't seem to be as graphics-focused as western companies, only thing is, WHERE ARE THE GAMES?!
Most would say 3DS, which is fine, but I'm waiting on real JP support, we had 2 JP-localized western games announced in the past day (Rabbids Land and F1 All Stars, da fuck), but the real JP support is non-existent. Even multiplats from PS3 would be fine, Dark Souls 2, Armored Core 5, Lightning Returns, smaller companies like say Atelier games (if allowed, I hear they're using Sony's engine, so that's won't happen then), Nippon Ichi games, you name it, Wii U's getting nada!
What is possibly going through Iwata's head right now? I remember how gung-ho they were about the 3DS' 3rd-Party support from the get-go at E3 2010. Namco Bandai, Tecmo Koei, and Capcom are the JP devs shelling out ANYTHING, ALL of which are ports...
Nintendo is in MORE than dire need to come up front and announce JP support, because they need a miracle at this point, I'm a believer in their 1st-party output, who isn't, but even Wii had more support at this point.
You said there's a Wii U 3rd Party Direct coming Iwata, well, WHERE IS IT?!
This is the reason of why most third party developers and publishers don´t support Nintendo platforms.
Does the next Mario or Zelda run on Unreal Engine 4?

If the Wii U was a mobile phone, it still wouldn't get unreal engine 4.
Western Third parties don't like Nintendo and I have a feeling it's because of Reggie.
Did I say anything of the above? Nope. My 'salty' post was a response to a bunch of cocky manchildren collectively laughing at a piece a hardware.

It's almost as good as the time he asked how many people owned Gamecubes and several people raised their handThat's great and all (seriously, that game is gonna be amazing) but did you ever hear about a console getting laughed at by a full audience of devs? Even the Vita didn't get that.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/news271005epicmanrants said:The vice president of Epic Games, the studio behind Unreal Tournament, Unreal Engine 3 and forthcoming Xbox 360 title Gears of War, has unleashed a stinging attack on the Nintendo Revolution "freestyle" controller.
Speaking at the IGN Live event, Mark Rein told the audience: "Don't kid yourself - you're going to see more gimmicky, crappy, cheap, I-wish-I-hadn't-bought-it gimmick games based around that controller than you can ever possibly imagine.
"I guarantee you there's going to be lots of people who say the whole reason for this game is this controller, we made the perfect game for the controller. And all it'll be is about the controller, and not necessarily a great game."
That said, he went on, "Nintendo, you know, is going to make amazing games. I mean that's a given." Rein then conducted a quick audience survey to find out how many people present owned a GameCube - and seemed a bit disappointed by the rather large number of hands raised.
So he asked everyone who didn't also own a PS2 or Xbox to put their hands down - and concluded that under ten per cent of the audience were Cube owners only.
"Hard to make a business on less than 10 per cent," Rein said.
When asked if he could envisage an FPS controller that might beat the old mouse and keyboard combo, Rein replied: "I could, but it's not the Nintendo Revolution controller... Didn't you see when Iwata-san held it up? The two controllers are the little wand controller and the other one is a joystick - and it's a joystick with a bunch of ribs under it.
"Remember the one that nearly destroyed your thumb on the Dreamcast, and on the N64 remember how after you played a game for a couple of hours you had to suck your thumb for a month? It's that kind of controller."
Another developer on the panel argued that the Revolution controller would indeed suit FPS games perfectly, but Rein was having none of it. Holding up an Xbox 360 pad, to whoops and cheers from the audience, he proclaimed: "This is the Xbox 360 controller, and there's nothing wrong with it.
"It works just fine for playing games, and it works fine for first-person shooter games, as evidenced by the fact that they sold more first-person shooters on consoles than anybody's ever sold on PCs."
Rein wouldn't be drawn on which next-generation console he preferred, telling the crowd: "Both of the next-generation consoles are great machines. They both have lots of power and they both have lots of memory... I don't think anybody's going to be disappointed with either of them."
By "either" and "both", he's referring to the Xbox 360 and PS3 of course - Rein said the Revolution didn't count since "most developers know nothing about the Nintendo system. They haven't gone and announced specs so I can't say.
"If you read the rumours apparently it's a great machine, but nobody really knows yet."
But as powerful as the PS3 may be, Rein is no fan of its controller, either - at least as far as the prototype's concerned.
"I don't think anybody knows what the PlayStation 3 controller looks like," he said.
"I think we all sure as hell pray like hell it's not that stupid-looking thing they showed at E3."
Not content with having taken a pop at both Nintendo and Sony's controllers, Rein also took the opportunity to have a go at his biggest rivals - who he claims are being far too grandiose when it comes to developing next-gen games.
"I've heard EA and Activision make absolutely ridiculous statements about, 'Oh, it's going to take 30 million dollars to make a game and we need 300 people - that's just a bunch of bullsh--.
"They're just covering up for their own management and incompetence. Or mismanagement I should say.
"Our team size is only about 50 per cent higher than it was last generation, and we're making fantastic games. Gears of War is only about 25 people, and that's smaller than most current-generation game teams."
You can watch the video of the event, during which some other people whose names we didn't catch did try to get a word in edgeways, over at IGN. Gears of War is due out on Xbox 360 some time in 2007, and while it might get a PS3 port we wouldn't hold your breath for a Revolution version.
Fuck. Wow, straight up laughter.
I...have nothing.
First console to be nearly zero third party support?
Man oh man. Nintendo had better be burning the midnight oil on HD game development with all the new studios they've created...right? They DID prepare for this....RIGHT?!?
First off, they have a remarkable amount of money behind them, and the Wii U is still technically profitable (so long as everyone buys at least one game, which is likely given that's kind of the main point of a games console), so I sincerely doubt they will never release a console again.
Second off, if they have any sense, they won't wait five-to-six years to make another console.
Precisely. You know it's gonna work out well for Ubisoft.Much as with Frostbite 3, (hell, even CE3) this is about business and ROI, not hardware. People should be focusing on the projections of opportunity cost in this thread, not hardware power.
Will UE4 run on the Wii U?
"Hahaha no." Rein said, with expert comedic timing. The room erupted with laughter.
Can GAF Wii U owners use google maps to figure out where to move the goal posts to now?
Nintendo bring it HARD this E3.
Keep laughing it up, chums. Mark Rein has 5 more years, tops. And this has nothing to do with Nintendo either way.
Way to presume I'm salty (or at least way to presume why I'm salty) though.
Did I say anything of the above? Nope. My 'salty' post was a response to a bunch of cocky manchildren collectively laughing at a piece a hardware.
Look at what Rein said.Well given UE4 could scale for mobile and toasters, what you say us disingenuous at best, trolling at worst.
That's a valid argument. Personally I think anybody who has been newly exposed to those franchises is noto the kind of person who's going to buy a console just to play a new version. Time will tell.

First console to be nearly zero third party support?
I find it funny when people call it the Gamecube 2.0 or the N64 2.0.
Wii U owners should cry tears of joy if the console gets the kind of support either of those two consoles had by the time it's all over and done with.
they're not laughing just at the hardware. they're laughing at:
1) the notion that nintendo's systems are ever going to get quality third party support, when they haven't ever since the super nes
2) the idea that there's a market for third party games on nintendo's systems. people buy nintendo's videogames for nintendo's games. see 1)
3) the fact that manchildren like you are so attached to nintendo, to the point where you deny yourself actual games and get mad at developers when they making the right choice
but hey, at least you got mario and zelda. i mean, you don't want more games anyway. you got a life outside videogames right

I would laugh if it wasnt so damn pathetic. The Wiiu is like the industry joke at this point
Calm down, step outside for a while. No need to call anybody a chum in here.Keep laughing it up, chums. Mark Rein has 5 more years, tops. And this has nothing to do with Nintendo either way.

With no Frostbite and no UE4, the Wii U is basically dead for 3rd party Western Support...
And most likely destined to a third place finish in the next generation console sales in the US and Europe. Just my predicition.
Where are you even coming up with this leap in logic? lol
