L.A. Noire, but you doubt EVERYONE.

Very Poor Hoice of Wor

I just wanted to throw this in here for weekend GAF. Honest to God, the game coupled with the commentary is EASILY funnier than The Naked Gun reboot, and probably funnier than The Naked Gun 33 1/3. It's video game related. Enjoy.

yes! a man after my own heart! l.a. noire is comedy gold! i appreciate that it's completely unintentional on the part of the developers, who gave it their all, but my first time thru the game, way back then, after taking the game at face value, i came away very disappointed, not with the overall atmosphere, which's awesome, but with how clunky much of the interactions were. but, a few years later, on replay, bingo! it was like a light came on! & i realized i was playing what might be one of the most over-the-top video game comedy gems ever...

glad to see others enjoying it, too...

I remember watching Funhaus playing the game and I absolutely disintegrated when the guy started driving like a complete dickbag to every mission.

Own it on PS3, 360 and Steam. Only finished it on Xbox One tho. Didnt like it at first, hated when I got the answers wrong.

Man, I loved this game. I'd really like something in that setting and time period again. The atmosphere, the music, the voice acting, the story was all great. And I thought the gameplay was fine too.

I only played the game a bit. I bailed as the game engine was pretty sketchy especially in shootouts (like the early act with the bank robbery). Walking around exploring or doing dialogue pics was fine, but the action gameplay parts were a slog. In the action scenes, there is no way it was 30 fps.

A game that came out in 2011 during the 360/PS3 era. And still the best mocap face and lip syncing animations.

it's not really traditional mocap. they filmed the faces of the actors and overlayed it as an animated texture to the character model.

the issue with that approach was that the camera system they had to use to get this to look convincing from all angles was massive, and it meant they couldn't record the face motion and the body mocap at once.

and due to that disconnect, it often looks very weird and clashing when a character is moving both the face and the body at once.

It would be a funny video if the creator didn't love the sound of his own voice so much.

In the spirit of The Naked Gun, I fondly remember Frank Drebin's monologues. I simply think of what he does in the same arena.
im not saying he shouldn't im just saying it's too much.

because the humor in the video really is the absolute mental shit Cole is saying :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I did not watch the video... but there is no way in hell this is funnier than Naked Gun 33 1/3, not if we remember the prison scenes and THE facepalm scene, for God's sake! :-D

I was thinking of the facepalm scene when I was typing it. That's why I said 'probably'. 😆

Watched and dropped after 5 minutes.
The game itself is amazing, entertaiment and funny most of times(the oldman part still cracks me up).
The video maker? Not funny at all.

This would be absolutely amazing, but unfortunately Rockstar doesn't do these smaller games anymore :(.

I also would have loved to see something like Bully.
Manhunt should be a prime IP for the pickings.

Make a survival horror game, or make it one of those Friday 13th/Dead by Daylight games.

Crazy, I just checked Steamdb and DbD has 65,000 CCU now. It's CCU trend is actually inching UPWARDS since launching long time ago. Friday 13th is dead. 12 people playing!

I just finished it yesterday. Over 100 hours across all platforms since it came out. It might still be the most immersive world in a video game, feels like a time capsule to the 1940s.

It makes me laugh that "if in doubt, charge the communist" works every time.
