Largest drop of games FPS boosted to date, bringing the total number of FPS boosted titles to 97

WE NEED ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Says parity here
Taken from the DF

"But is resolution really the only difference? We lined up a series of test shots designed to compare each version and found total parity: texture quality is standard across all four machines, object pop-in occurs at the same distance from the player, texture filtering is similarly mediocre wherever you're playing, while terrain displacement decals pop-in at the same point as well."

Just noticed The Division is on the list! Nice. Always quite fancied replaying that with a buddy, but not at 30fps again. Ah shit, now my backlog is growing with games I have already played.

Just tried out Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Running that at 4k60 is some kinda space wizard shit MS and makes it a much better playing experience. Looking forward to seeing what else they add to it now!

Sonic nooooo!

Unleashed you will remain unplayable for now, but maybe you'll be in the next wave, just gotta believe. That's what Parappa would have said if he were still alive today He was a good man, RIP.

A lot of 360 games already have optimized versions for Xbox One X (also available on Series X).
Optimised Xbox 360 games are also enhanced on Series S, but in native 1440p and not 4k. All OG Xbox games are also rendered in native 1440p on Series S.

I thought it was already at 60 when the developers released the patch back in Feb?

Assassin's Creed Unity...solid 60fps! I will start the game from scratch...it looks really well on a large screen and forced dolby atmos puts me in there.

Wish Gears:UE got the 60fps boost...like if Gears 4 can...why not that since it's a very high profile game on X? Really McLovin this fps boost more than any other feature.

Does the resolution take a hit when boosted to 60? When I played Sniper the res didn't look good, but I'm not sure if that's the original res or it took a hit. Anyone know?

Yeah, its an issue right now with some games that were one x enhanced, they go back to running at base xb1 resolutions. I have to imagine microsoft will have a fix for that coming soon

Wow this really is amazing! This sort of thing will get me to buy a Series X when some of the exclusives land and really have a blast with it.

I love these games getting an upgrade:
- Sleeping Dogs will be amazing at 60fps with all the combat
Just played a couple hours of Sleeping Dogs and it's amazing with the auto-HDR and 60fps.
Perfect excuse to play through one of my favorite games ever.

if the game doesn't have FPS boost on by default, that means that activating FPS boost will make the game run in One S mode instead of One X mode.

the issue for most games is Dynamic Res.
games with dynamic resolution have an FPS threshold. basically as soon as the framerate is about to drop below the target framerate (so 30fps or 60fps depending on the game) the resolution will go down in order to keep the framerate up.

now comes the issue... without patching it, the game will always only start to drop resolution if the framerate target can not be held. if the framerate is boosted to 60fps from 30fps, the resolution will only start to drop once it goes down to 30fps as that's how the game is programmed.

some games have extensively high upper resolution bounds that would never be reached on One X, titanfall 2 for example has an upper bound of at least 6144x3160 (6K). but of course in reality it would maybe run at around 1500p on One X, and on Series X the resolution will hang around or above 4K at the standard 60fps.
but now the game got FPS boosted to 120fps. if you would run the game in One X mode it would always try to hold a 6K resolution UNTIL the framerate goes below 60fps, and not even the Series X can hold a steady 6K res even at 60fps, so patching in a 120fps mode in this One X version of the game would result in a VERY unstable framerate that would jump between 60fps and 120fps all the time and would hang around maybe 70fps on average.

so that is one of the reasons some games run in One S mode. maybe Microsoft finds a way to tell the game to lower its resolution earlier than specified, maybe give the game fake data so that it thinks the framerate drops below the original target when in reality it doesn't. but it's hard to say if they can do that without a patch by the developers.

BUT of course there are just some games without a dynamic res that somehow still have issues in One X mode when boosted (see Fallout 4) but for those I feel that Microsoft should give us an option for a high res Boost mode, since stuff like Fallout 4 run pretty well even at One X mode, even tho not perfectly stable of course

Was excited about this...until I played a game and discovered that they use the base Xbox one version to boost. Farcry New Dawn looked so awful.
Damn this had so much potential.

not all games use base Xbox One mode. (see above)
Prey for example runs in One X mode, same with Skyrim and every One X game that has fps boost on by default

Man if only they could boost the One X games I'd even be tempted by system.

Common Jim, you can boost Pro versions with the PS5 power delta, don't you want to own Phil again?!? Lol, Sony.

since so many are posting questions about resolution, here is the list they released today, and I marked every game that has a One X patch AND RUNS IN ONE X mode with FPS boost with an X on the left.

I might add that this might be incomplete since I used the Wikipedia page of One X enhanced games and I myself noticed a few games missing that i know definitely have One X patches, like UFC4 for example was missing. so this might no be all.
every game that has "Off by Default on Series X" checked on the right, has a One X path but will run in One S mode

curious games on the list are Gears 4 and The Evil Within 2, which both have 60fps modes just from the One X patch, and they also both have a check for off by Default. so I have absolutely no idea with those games... like... what?
maybe Gears 4 boosts the resolution mode with this but it's unstable and therefore turned off by default, and maybe The Evil Within 2 gives you now the option to run in One S mode to have the Framerate 100% locked since the One X patch runs not 100% stable (but very close to it)

TL;DR: X on the left = ONE X MODE + FPS BOOST, checkmark on the right = ONE X PATCH EXISTS BUT RUNS IN ONE S MODE WITH FPS BOOST, list might be incomplete since the wiki page I used had some errors

Damn, I'm here unable to decide what the hell to play first. I started replaying Recore the other day, but now I'm torn between Yakuza 6, I still want to get back into Like A Dragon, was replaying Halo 3 recently due to my Halo Infinite hype, started a replay of Skyrim the other day that I was enjoying way more than my initial playthrough years ago, and now I've got Tomb Raider on the mind.

What's really badass about what Microsoft is doing is that it revitalizes interest in games that were already released. Some of these games are going to get some extra sales because of this announcement.

Definitely going to replay Alien Isolation at 60FPS now. It actually looks surprisingly crisp and holds up really well despite never having had a One X resolution bump.

So I made an actual list now that can be edited and stuff. so forget that png I posted. but once again, not sure if it is 100% complete as some One X enhanced games are not listed on the Wiki page I use. i added 1 or 2 that I know were missing like Unravel Two.

if the ONE X ENHANCED says YES and is GREEN it will run in One X Enhanced mode + FPS Boost.

So the games without a checkmark left or right, run in what mode?

that means they do not have a One X enhanced patch to begin with. I made a better list 4 posts below the one you quoted where you see if it is One X enhanced and if it is using that mode in FPS boost.
the 2 weird outliers are Gears 4 and Evil Within 2 which already ran at 60fps but still got "boosted" to 60fps while apparently having it off by default... super weird

Tried Dying Light and yep, it's 60fps. Immediately felt better to play. Shame it's still in the 900p region, but I can live with that.

Having AC Unity on the list gives me hope that Odyssey will be a possibility.

Hmm. Alright thanks. The first one you did confused me, but the 2nd is better.
