Largest drop of games FPS boosted to date, bringing the total number of FPS boosted titles to 97

Check the specs of your TV. If you bought a 4K TV within the past 4 years, it will probably support 120 fps at 1080P.
It does. My X900E if I set the HDMI mode from automatic to manual allows 1080p at 120hz. The thing is, I lose out on HDR and at that point it's not really worth it to me. Maybe for a game like Hollow Knight where AFAIK it's not One X enhanced (?) it wouldn't make a diff dropping res. But in most cases, it's not worth it for me.

I think people can never really be made happy no matter what they do
They released a few 120 hz games last week and people were bitching about xbox one 30 to 60 fps , now they did just that and people want 360 and og games
In my opinion assassin's creed origins and odyssey + darksouls 3 is checkmate

Not a single Xbox 360 game, I was expecting Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey
The newer the game the easier it is generally as developers are coupling animations and physics less to the framerate than they used to. Also Xbox One and later systems run a fully virtualised HW where the games are coded to a virtual "metal" layer thus making intercepting and changing bits and pieces in the games easier as well as more reliable.

They explained that it would be only Xbox One games to begin with. We will see if they add Xbox 360 at some point, but don't get your hopes up.

This is already a fantastic, free, service for the players.

Wow this really is amazing! This sort of thing will get me to buy a Series X when some of the exclusives land and really have a blast with it.

I love these games getting an upgrade:
- Deus Ex Mankind Divided (!!) will be so much more smooth and responsive now
- Far Cry 5
- Sleeping Dogs will be amazing at 60fps with all the combat
- Metro 1 & 2 at 120fps will be fantastic as well

Also, I finished Hollow Knight already so won't play that one again soon, but at 120fps is amazing with its twitchy gameplay.

I bet 360 games will be next. they said they're doing Xbox One first.

they are probably working on a big drop of games like today for 360 titles.

Mirror's Edge would be nice (they can sadly only push it to 60 tho since above 60 it has some physics glitches which is why it's locked to 60 on PC too)

but if they push it to 60fps it will be glorious. it's already 4K and has native HDR (no auto HDR) support on One X/Series X

I didn't previously notice that Homefront: The Revolution had been added.
Two thoughts on this:
1. This game definitely needed a boost. Aiming responsiveness and precision weren't the best.
2. Does the included Timesplitters 2 easter egg game also get a boost? :)

And yet the 360 library is what needs these upgrades the most. The 360 library is superior to the Xbox One in every way. I would definitely consider getting a Series S/X if 360 games got a FPS/graphics boost.

the really weird ones are Gears 4 and The Evil Within 2.

both of these already have a 60fps mode on One X

"maybe it's meant for Series S!" - no it's not, notice how MotoGP 20 was also 60fps on One X but not on One S, that one got an exclusive Series S boost because of that.

the FPS boosts on these is also turned off by default, which until now meant that the games will run in One S mode if you turn it on.

my theories for these that could make sense are,
for Gears 4 maybe this boosts the Resolution Mode, but it is unstable and therefore off by default.
and for The Evil Within 2 it could be a way to have a more stable 60fps, as the One X version played on SX doesn't lock 100% perfectly to 60fps (it's close enough tho imo)

but until people test these this is only a theory of course.

super weird tho on first glance not gonna lie

They do get a graphics boost. Several
OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games get a resolution boost and many get a texture filtering boost which can be very very noticeable on XSX.

Sony during the GDC style presentation "we have around 100 games taken from playtime stats to benefit from the boosted clocks and we will share the info" but haven't. Meanwhile Microsoft out here literally revealing the entire list of FPS boosted games. Microsoft is killing it with their backwards compatibility support.

They are indeed especially in terms of clarity and transparency. Props given where they are due: there are key titles from OG Xbox, Xbox 360, and essentially all of the Xbox One titles… many of them have some form of graphical enhancement (higher resolution for some, 16x AF texture filtering for most of not almost all) and they all seem to benefit from the faster CPU and SSD.

From the Digital Foundry tests though you can see the number of games that benefit from enhanced BC (there is quite a lot). Some like GoT are now running 4K@60 Hz for example and that it is thanks to a similar FPS boost option. Sony does also plenty of good things here and there but they suck at shouting about them sometimes.

Damn was hoping for Cyberpunk, but there is some damn good games on there for a boost
But Cyberpunk already has a 60 fps mode?

I tried Recore and the game is absolutely transformed, went from almost unplayably choppy to smooth as butter. Always wanted to try it, guess it's gonna happen now.

I hope Sunset Overdrive is next, this game is a masterpiece which would benefit from it immensely.

I have said this before but as a PC gamer with my whole gaming history in front of me on Steam, and other launchers, it blows me away how some console fans on here seem to be so against past gen games.
Maybe its just console warring because Microsoft are really pushing the boat out with BC.
People who are against it is usually because their platform of choice doesn't have the feature.

Amazing update. Microsoft actually makes me want to use backwards compatibility. Digital Foundry has their work cut out for them haha

Downloading a bunch of oldies to try this out. Some I have played before (Titanfall 2), some I have not (eg. Recore and AC Unity), but it sure is fun booting them up to see this black magic in action!

Untitled Goose Game at 120 fps! Holy shit that is way too much goose for one man. This changes everything.

Nice to see that the resolution boost they added for the Remastered version of AC:Rogue isn't lost on Series X when using FPS Boost.
4k/60 for that game is pretty great.

they really gonna make me regret buying any multiplats for playstation last gen huh.

Just tested out Anthem, Sleeping Dogs, Watch_Dogs. phenomenal improvement. most noticeable on Anthem. As that game was such a rough rocky juddery mess running at like 25fps before.

kinda bummed i read the deus ex one wrong. I thought it was Human revolution at first glance. Which im playing rn

Not on Series S, locked to 30

Great games on the list. I just wish they would not drop to base xbox one version, even if it doesn't exactly hit 60fps with X1X settings. The resolution drop is too much in most cases. I hope they add another compatibility option for such games in the future.

No kidding, just started it, played until the first boss, feels like a completely different game!

A lot of 360 games already have optimized versions for Xbox One X (also available on Series X).

This is awesome, definitely in for Wasteland 3 and Yakuza 6. Will probably finally try ReCore again too thanks to this. Really cool stuff.

Is this confirmed? I was under the impression that in instances like this it was just a lower resolution.
I thought it was the Xb1 version, a lot of games are just higher rez on XB1X v XB1. And I think the settings are the same on this game other than rez, though I could be wrong.
