I just watched it, and it was really funny. The series never really recovered after the death of the actor who played Murphy, but even still it was pretty funny stuff compared to some of the other crap on adult swim (such as Tom Goes to the Mayor).

Anyways, if you missed it, it will repeat again in a few hours.

I call shenanigans. They can't let this flagship go down- Sealab was just starting to get back on its feet, too.

It was seriously FYAD the show.

there was a bump before sealab that said "back to school" plans or something like that, 13 new eps of sealab. but you never know with these guys.

Its sad. The selfish part of me wants more Sealab, but without Murphy it does seem somewhat rudderless (no pun). The only thing that could legitimize a new season for me would be some kind of new character, totally different than Murphy, that could put some kind of a fresh spin on the show. Usually characters like that fail miserably though, and in that case it would likely just tarnish the greatness that the show has already achieved. I guess its best that it ends here.

An ASIAN character.... that would be fresh. Tiss sad, while i agrree that without murph its been tough. But they havent rellied on just one character to deliver the jokes. They actually give some of the other mains a chance to shine. That episode with Debbie going to church was great.

If this is true and they never come back to Sealab then my faith in humanity has dropped.

This sucks if this is for real, but the newest eps have been a little stale, and I'm not just talking about Goz being gone, alot of the episodes after were really good. Still, I sure as hell hope they don't drop the general idea of Sealab. I would love to see more classic cartoons get redone in the same way, Specifically Smurfs, Captain Planet, and G.I. Joe obviously.

Watching the Murpy tribute at the end of last nights episode made me realize how much the show has declined since he passed away. I'm glad they ended it - it just hasn't been funny lately. But when that show was funny - man it was a riot.

Tom, Robot Chicken, Futurama, and reruns of Home Movies.

Plus, Full Metal Alchemist and Teen Titans. Shut up, Teen Titans is awesome.

Whoops, looks like you listed Tom first there. Err, at all. Don't forget Family Guy and GITS. Otherwise, agree.

Oh, and don't forget watching 26 "Big O" episodes for the hundred thousandth time. AS really is going down the drain. Someone bad took the helm sometime in the last year or so it seems like...So sad. :(

I'm glad it's over the way I'd be glad if the Simpsons stopped around season nine or so. Sealab was definitely getting to a point where the new was tarnishing the memory of the old.

Compare this to my feelings about, say, HOME MOVIES ADULT SWIM YOU FUCKERS.

Had a pretty big typo in that post. :p

Yeah, you don't want Tom in there. Not funny at all. And OH NO, you forgot Justice League Unlimited (unless it's not on [as] but I think it is)! Cowboy Bebop, too.

Home Movies only got better and better, I have never been disappointed. Also, did I not read that they will be airing new episodes this summer?

This sucks. But not quite as bad as TGTTM sucks. Horrible show

But at least there are new episodes of the horrible show.

Granted, the new episodes of the horrible show are still horrible, but new horrible is better than the same horrible for months on end.

Of course, this could all be avoided by cancelling the horrible.

If getting Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, S-CRY-ed, and Metropolis ALL next month is your idea of "going drain the drain" then I can't imagine what your idea of Adult Swim's heyday was.

Not to mention new Family Guy on the way (though American Dad I could do without, at least from what has been seen so far).

Anyway, Sealab hasn't been good since Harry Goz died, plain and simple. They had a few lucky hits here and there, and a few episodes were pretty funny, but Murphy-era Sealab is some of the funniest stuff around while post-Murphy Sealab simply is not.

He wants more Pilot Candidate and Blue Gender?

Sealab Season 3 is unwatchable in my opinion. The best season was the first when it was very simple and very hilarious. Season 2 was great. Season 3 just tried too hard to be funny.

What about ATHF Season 4? Or is that show even on too anymore? What season was the "Spacecataz" beginning on?

Less anime more funny. Dammit.

I agree that it's nice that they finally got some new anime after two years of mostly bleeding the shit out of what they have. I don't know if you've noticed that they've been playing Trigun for the umpteenth million time recently, and as I said, Big O season *1*. I'll be interested to see how many episodes we get of Samurai Champloo and S-CRY-ed. Yay for Metropolis but that's a movie so that doesn't count since I can't watch it all year. Paranoia Agent I haven't seen, so I'll reserve judgement. Of course yay for Family Guy although some of that goodwill for Fox.

What really pisses me off recently is greenlighting what are IMO shit projects like TGTM, the sudden decline in writing quality in shows like Sealab 2021 (not the best to begin with, but far above what it's been this season), and shows like Home Movies and Venture Brothers not being asked to do new shows. Seeing TGTM being greenlighted for an additional eight episodes or whatever while fans bled from their eyes from hate for it and begged for more Venture Brothers was really the final pisser at the end of a very slow '04 season. I think most people are left wondering who in the hell is making these decisions?

This is an unlikely rant from me since I'm mainly an anime fan, but dammit, it seems like I've seen every one of the decent shows that are on weekdays four to ten times each. Per episode! I stay up late and I have nothing better to watch when I'm in bed! Good quality AS is important to me!

I think you may be mistaken; Brendon didn't mention anything on his website about it, and I would assume that would be top news.

I believe the official, technical term is:

"cuz anime is teh s uck" ;)

(I kid because I love. I'm really digging FMA, and I adore FLCL.)

AS had already ordered a full season of TGTTM and these are the rest of the eps. Meanwhile VB season 2 was greenlit a month ago.

Trigun was off the air for months and is only getting one run through before it gets booted off the lineup again. And that's 2 seasons of Big O (also known as "the enitre series"). It's also getting booted off the lineup in 3 weeks. And they're getting 26 episodes each of Champloo and S-CRY-ed...because that's all there is.

As bad as it all seems now on the comedy side, they did make one good decision...

Never forget. The wait is nigh-unbearable, though...

ATHF is huge at the moment. I can't believe the general public likes it. I never would have thunk.

I think its great. Thats good that there are new episodes on the way.

Bump for Venture Bros. Adult Swim has really fucked up lately with their new offerings, VB is the exception. No, I'm not a fan of Robot Chicken.
