Laura Fryer: Saving Bungie

adamsapple

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Bungie is facing an existential threat. They've lost the trust of their players, partners and team. Marathon is struggling and they've once more been caught stealing artwork. Can Bungie or Sony lead the team through the latest crisis? The odds are stacked against them, but it's possible with the right approach. Studio survival isn't guaranteed, though, as you'll see when I reveal the fate of Microsoft's first foray into the fighting and RPG genres, project "Dragon".

xbox fans legit worried about bungie

anyway there was a thread about this already , should merge

They should have launched Destiny 3 and gained a wider audience instead of just catering to their existing player base with their endless DLC for Destiny 2, and also deleting the first half of Destiny 2 alienating new players. It's still a solid team with very competent tech but their business decisions have been in the gutter when you have plebs like Luke Smith at the helm.

gamepass content.
They have enough of that, none of the talent that made Bungie great back in the day are there any
Ore it is a pointless expensive company that will produce a piece of shit like Marathon after half a decade and god knows how many millions of dollars

I wish Bungie would make a narrative driven rpg with the quality of myth the fallen lords. Something that had the character equivalent to all the petty soul gems in oblivion, which is good in its own right. They need a fantasy ip!

Sony could have added a couple more billions and bought Capcom, From Software or Namco Bandai instead of Bungie...

They already have a stake in From through Kadokawa.
Doubt Kadokawa would sell entirely.

Sony to buy Bandai Namco......hahaha mate you must not know how expensive that would be for Sony.......they aint big enough.
