Le Pen says 'world peace' would gain from a Trump-Putin-Le Pen trio

For Europeans this is fucking real. There's already a war in Ukraine. There are enough hints that Putin is actively destabilizing Europe.

Russia doesn't have the capacity to do much militarily aside from bully its neighbors. Russia is a strong regional power, and that's all they've been for decades. The war in Ukraine won't have any significant effects that the other wars Russia has had with its neighbors didn't have (Georgia and the Chechen wars most notably) as far as greater Europe is concerned.

The notion that the Ukrainian or Syrian conflict will spill over into active fighting in other parts of Europe is absurd. Countries have been trying to destabilize one another for thousands of years, and what Russia is doing now is child's play compared to the larger conflicts during the Cold War. Those didn't lead to Europe being overrun by the Russian bogeyman either.

Yea, NKM is pretty cool for a right wing candidate, which probably betrays me as a horrible globalist bobo. Sarko is a piece of shit and I really really really hope he does not win.

Since we are talking about right wing primaries. I have not followed French politics *super* closely for a while (I emigrated a while back) - but how is Valls a socialist? How is more a socialist than NKM for instance? More on the right on social issues, does not seem on the left on economic issues? Party affiliation in France sometimes confuse me.

edit: just checked the latest polls, and god am i so happy to see Cope at the bottom of them. I had the misfortune of seeing him once at my university and I don't think I have ever met a bigger worm.
Valls is at the PS while NKM is at UMP or whatever they want to call themselves to avoid judges.

And Cope is the rightfully at the bottom!

To avoid judges? Enlighten me?

Basically anything and everything related to Bygmalion as well as the hilarious Sarkothon.
You can read this article, it's stands on its own. I noted nothing that could point to it being utter BS and express rather well wth the idiots at the UMP thought they were doing.

(ps: who the fuck thought that les republicains was a good name)

Give them a break, they were already out of ideas for coming up with UMP they couldn't possibly find anything better than to remind everyone that they were a shitty version of the American GoP.

Trump/Le Pen and world peace? There are two images that immediately come to mind:

Not too surprising. Germany learned from the past, the rest of us didn't. As the saying goes...
Germany learned from the past that world domination doesn't come from war, so they set up the EU instead and tried it that way. That's what the Brexiteers told me anyway...

Whats with all these little politicians thinking they can hang with the big boys?
1st Duterte says China, Russia and Philippines can rule the world...
Now LePen thinks France can hang with USA and Russia...
I know these guys are nuts, but this is some real delusions of grandeur.

I'm pretty sure she won't win and not in an arrogant "Trump won't win" "Brexit won't happen" kind of way. This is different.

First: the FN has a long history in France, they are known far-right nationalist. The Le Pen name doesn't give good connotations. It's a scary name. The racism in Trump and Brexit was somewhat less explicit (and therefore more "excusable" for voters).

Second: unlike Brexit and Trump, this isn't really a 50/50 situation, there are a lot of parties involved and there is a sort of solidarity between the parties to stop the FN if they go to the second round.

Third: I read somewhere that after Le Pen (father) went to the second round against Chirac, FN voters have been heavily studied by pollsters. There won't be as many "hidden" votes so to say. The polls even tend to overestimate the FN a little bit because of this.

I live abroad, but I'll vote for whoever goes to the second round against Le Pen. Easy choice.
