Leaving a Nintendo Family group and creating a new one?

Hi GAF.

I am part of a Nintendo family group with my brother and sister-in-law. I want to create two online accounts for my daughters, and since they are minors, Nintendo requires them to be supervised accounts. I don’t have a problem with this and actually prefer it that way.

The issue is that I cannot create supervised accounts myself because I’m already in a family group, and only my brother, as the group admin, can create them. I want to create the accounts myself, so my only option is to leave the group and create my own. Since it’s only 70 euros a year, I don’t mind, but when I try to do this, I see a message saying I may face restrictions in creating or joining another group within the same year I leave one.

My question is: can I leave this group and create a new one today? If the answer is no, I’ll have to create the accounts using my brother’s user, which I’d rather avoid (OCD kills me).

I’ve written to Nintendo asking about this, but they haven’t replied, probably because it’s Christmas.

Thanks!

Down here in Argentina there are some draconian rules, like if you leave your family and try to join a new one before the previous subscription both you and the group you are trying to join get a shadowban and got to reach Nintendo to request an unblock. I guess because we abuse the system quite a lot...

My Nintendo dad left 27 years ago to get the new Mario game and still hasn't returned.

Ur shared memories will always be there, bro :)
