Anti-consumerI really don't get the comparison with Xbox One. Totally different reasons being compared.
I know. Their asses are hurting from the pounding the Big N is giving them.
Damn......I'm spending way too much time on GAF when I know who the OP is just by the thread title

Your filling entire GAF of your bitching about Switch 2....Give it a break.
Nintendo is one of the biggest legends in the history of the whole entire video game industry. They were here way before Sony. In fact Nintendo released the color TV system 15 back in the late 70s, which was the very first generation of gaming. So Nintendo darn seen it all and they been there and did that. I believe Nintendo, just like your Sony is too big to fail in the video game industry. Sure both companies have released failed products, but both companies are so embedded in the video game Industry that they're not going to fail like Microsoft. So this situation that you're trying to compare between Microsoft and Nintendo is not going to hold up. Nintendo has a complete and total 100% monopoly over Japan. With that alone, Nintendo is not going to find themselves in the situation like Microsoft. So you're trying to draw a comparison and I understand what you're trying to say but it's not going to hold any weight. Unfortunately, both Sony and Nintendo Have the luxury of being arrogant. These two companies have won generations in their past. And Nintendo has a monopoly over handheld gaming they're not going to fail like Microsoft. Even if Microsoft and sony come out with hybrid consoles, it's going to be too little too late by time they arrive on the market. At this point gamers only have two systems to choose from, that's a PlayStation and a Switch and guess what they both have a duopoly. Microsoft when they release the Xbox one did not have a monopoly over the industry. As a matter of fact, the 360 lost that generation. So the Xbox one was entering a new generation in last place. Nintendo is going to be just fine.Microsoft was riding high on the success of the Xbox 360. Despite the notoriously unreliable hardware—I went through five of them—the gameplay experience and Xbox Live were excellent. During that era, Sony lagged behind in online capabilities, and Nintendo still acts like online gaming is stuck in the 90s. Even with the Red Ring of Death issues, the 360 was a dominant force and firmly established Microsoft as a major player in the console market.
The original Xbox laid the groundwork, but it was the 360 that truly let Microsoft show what it was capable of. They were winning on both hardware and software fronts, raking in revenue and building a loyal user base. Microsoft was on top—and they knew it.
And then the arrogance set in.

^^^^^
This smug Son of a Bitch comes out pushing features nobody asked for—especially the always-online requirement. On top of that, they tried to force that half-baked Kinect hardware onto everyone. Microsoft took all the goodwill and momentum the Xbox 360 had built and trashed it in favor of corporate-driven decisions. The Xbox brand still hasn't fully recovered from that misstep and remains in a shaky state.
Now Nintendo seems to be following the same formula. The Switch was their first major success with a broader audience in years—let's be honest, the Wii was largely a casual-focused console. The Switch brought back gamers like me who had grown disillusioned with Nintendo. Personally, my relationship with them went from love, to frustration, back to admiration, and now disappointment again.
The upcoming Switch 2 appears to be heading in a direction most of us don't want: rising game prices without meaningful improvements in quality. Many games won't even come as physical copies—just digital keys, which are basically store-locked DRM. Their online store still looks like the same outdated Switch interface, and there aren't many compelling titles on the horizon that would appeal to players already invested in current-gen PlayStation or Xbox systems. The biggest draw seems to be a new Mario Kart, but I've seen no justification for it costing more than other titles. Sure, there will always be die-hard Nintendo fans willing to pay any price, but the broader market may not be as forgiving.
Here's where Nintendo has backed itself into a corner: major developers have already stated they won't be increasing game prices. We're seeing high-profile titles like the new Mafia game launching under $60. If games like GTA 6 hit the market at $69.99 while Nintendo asks for even more without offering the same value, it's going to raise red flags. Once casual gamers start noticing the price discrepancy, Nintendo's inflated pricing strategy could seriously backfire.
To make a long story short, I believe this will cost NIntendo and will have a much less success with the Switch 2.
laughing now Im sorry my friend

I'm not trying to argue with people too much, but Sony has the Vita and the Vita is another flop just like the WiiU . Sony and Nintendo is very similar whether you guys want to admit it or not they have a very loyal fan based who loves their franchises with all of their soul. This is why Nintendo is untouchable just like Sony untouchable. These two companies have a strong cult like fan base Who will do anything for those two companies. So I know you're talking about Nintendo in your comment and I know you're acting like Nintendo fans is in the comments are getting out of control, but the fact of the matter is from a Nintendo fan perspective, we see Sony fans doing the same exact thing. The problem is Microsoft does not have a fan base like Nintendo with Sony. You see I'm not trying to put neither company down. I'm telling you like it is Nintendo is no different than Sony and Sony is no different than Nintendo. They both have very loyal fan bases. That's why they are too big to fail. Their fans are going to come out no matter what. Because both companies have gamers who grew up with their platforms they will equate Nintendo and sony with their childhood. Nobody equates Microsoft with their childhood people could care less about the Xbox brand especially in Japan in China and Korea people could care less about the Xbox brand in those three countries but most people in those three countries love Nintendo and Sony very very much. That's why Microsoft is on the way out. There's nothing Microsoft can do at this point because the majority of gamers worldwide could care less about that brand. So the mistake they made with the Xbox one really doomed the brand in this industry from a console perspective. Because the brand was already strongly disliked in most countries around the world, even in the UK.It's EXACTLY what it is. Corporate executives foolishly over reaching when they have some prior success. The difference is that Nintendo fanboys equate Nintendo's IPs to their literal childhood. Look at all of them squirming on this thread when you point out the obvious similarities to Xbox's business practices. Its a forum, if you don't like the topic then don't click on the thread. These people will endure Nintendo's abuse because they're basically in a cult. It's just like people who buy Apple products. It's a public company, guys. They are not your friend. They do not give a shit about you. They are only in it for the money and the overreaching shows how little they respect you. Wake up already.
The Wii U proves Nintendo isn't untouchable, but I also know these execs aren't naive. They understand things can change at a dime, but a lot of what Nintendo is doing is pushing things to see how far they can go. Obviously they can go pretty far with their shitty business practices on GAF. Can they in the real world though? Will normies put up with their shit? I genuinely hope not. I like Nintendo's IPs, I grew up with them too, but there's a breaking point and they've long passed it with me. Too much bullshit and not enough payout for tolerating it.

You're saying this from a person's perspective who might be a PlayStation fan you're on the other side of the fence saying what you're saying. But people from the Nintendo side of the fence, we see Sony fans here in these forums, doing the same exact thing. From PlayStation fans perspective, sony could do no wrong people are always defending the mistakes that sony does simply because they get all the third-party support and have the most powerful console so people are willing to support Sony and cover up Sony mistakes. You see, sir Nintendo gamers see Sony fan boys always bashing Microsoft and Nintendo products. We see it clear as day in all of these gaming forums , but a person like you will never see it that way because you're seeing things from a Sony perspective a Sony fan perspective. That's why I said what I said to you about Sony fan boys and Nintendo fan boys both do the same exact thing because both companies are so big and beloved around the world that they will Not fail in this industry. They are too big to fail. Both companies are smaller than Microsoft and Google, but both Microsoft and Google failed in the video game industry just like Apple when Apple released the Pippin. Do you understand why because all three of those companies do not have long deep roots in the video game CONSOLE/ HANDHELD industry. They was not here long long ago making consoles. So gamers will not have any nostalgia for any of those companies franchises. And when it comes to Microsoft, it was always a one false move and your done type of situation. Gamers really don't have patience with Microsoft and they're willing to cut the company loose Instantaneously, especially in Japan. We're talking about video games. People are so genuinely triggered by anything bad said about Nintendo on GAF. It shows people are not thinking rationally but rather reacting through emotion. The love for Nintendo at this point is like Stockholm syndrome.

I respect your response because it was a very sound and understandable reply. So I definitely appreciate your message. I see where you're coming from now.I don't think Nintendo can totally fail either because I agree the brand recognition shields them. Their IPs elicits intense cultish following that can give them a large buffer for their missteps. I think that explains their behavior today. So by no means am I saying they're going to fail as in go bankrupt and cease to exist, but they can feel pain to the point that they're forced to make changes. That's what everyone should be hoping. I don't think anyone actually hates Nintendo, we just hate the people running it and their decisions.
That explains the massive success of the Wii U, GameCube, N64 and Virtual Boy.Nintendo could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and wouldn't lose any sales...
For fuck sake if you dont like it then dont fucking buy it.....all this crying needs to stop.
ok lolI'm hurting, all right. June 5th can't get here fast enough!
Xbox Series X is somehow even worse than the xbox one debacle which at least redeemed itself somewhat with the badass Xbox One X.Xbox one don't offer any noteworthy adjustments, Series X cleaned up the Xbox One. I believe Microsoft will release the Xbox 720 next gen, with an emotional embrace, smart "gaming first" decision.
I'm sorry that Switch 2 broke you.
For fuck sake if you dont like switch 2 crying posts don't fucking read them.....all the crying needs to stop.
People are allowed to have their own thoughts you know.
This is the whole story of Gamer79 childhoodNintendo has broken into every part of this man but his wallet. Mind, body, spirit, and very likely elsewhere.
