Three years.... Interesting that the spirit wilds issue still hasn't be solved. I wonder if it will be?

You can't expect the integration of a whole new race and species in three years, even with the avatar.
I will say that I wish they could squeeze one more season out, if it truly ends at season 4 it would be a whole 1 cour short of the last airbender.
Anybody cant wait to watch the nostalgia critic's vlogs for season 4?

Wasn't the whole point being to not solve it?
I agree that integration and the resolution of that plot isn't likely in 3 years. But the bigger issue is how much they've avoided it all together. I mean, they put so much focus on Korra leaving the portal open, and thus ushering in the age of a new world, where both spirits and the physical world have to co-exist together. THAT was the massive change from her actions.
We later find out that it also brought back the air benders (and restored some balance). However, the whole plot with Zaheer, anarchy, and governments changing was a result of a bad guy just happening to get air bending as a result of her actions. It's kind of strange to shift focus to that as the final conflict going into the end, vs the spirit/physical world change from the portals being kept open.
I agree. I expected a huge focus on how humans and benders would deal with the spirits, such as apartheid issues. With such a large repercussion at the end of season 2, it was severely disappointing that only two episodes adressed these concerns. It should have been inter-winded within the series, and within the lore and atmosphere of the episodes. I wanted to see the spirits struggle/get along with the material world.
That was so hype, didn't expected a time skip at all.
And i sincerely can't wait to see Toph, this will be fucking glorious!
i was hoping for atease since hes supposedly coming backhiroshi
i guess i'll just keep waiting
They better finish the series off proper with another time skip 20 years later. A nice wink to the camera and silence/fade to black![]()
Should end with "all is well". And showing the characters at a party with their babies and stuff. Shipper bait ending.
I edited my post. But I also think on a surface level, I kind of expected like more variety with how the world has changed. Outside of a couple of scenes, it seems like the world is the same as it's always been. I kind of expected a more colorful world post harmonic convergence. So even if they didn't want to touch on this on a plot level, at least SHOW us the world has changed.
We should have an ending like The Sopranos

"So Korra what will you do now?"
"Well with that done I guess Mako and I can st-"

She look awfully like Mako in that shot.Kuvira does seem to be in control of a good chuck of the Earth Kingdom:

The old guy to her...left? Was the Earth Queen's Grand Secretariat. He got a job with the new boss.
Poor Suyin :S What the hell happened to the Metal Clan. Looks like the people of the Earth Kingdom begged for order after the Red Lotus insurrection, much like the Communist in China after the fall of the last Dynasty and the Civil War.

What if Toph actually isn't in Book 4. Korra just stumbles into a cave and finds the remains of TophI didn't seeat all in the trailer.Toph
???Epic Trailer. But nothing beats this theme.
I'm kinda surprised, I didn't see Mako, I assume I missed him but really looked like he wasn't getting much if any screen time in the trailer.
Yeah not that much footage of him but he is in there a couple of times and he's also sporting a new style.
You know what would be crazy? What if Bolin ends up being a bad guy?
probably not a bad guy but unwittingly working for the bad guys
it kinda looks like he's pitched against Korra, Mako and the rest of the crew
You know what would be crazy? What if Bolin ends up being a bad guy? Since Korra is supposed to be the complete opposite of Aang, it would provide a nice contrast to Zuko turning good by the end of Avatar.
Same thing I posted in the other thread.
he won't turn evil but I see him having to have some moral issues working for what looks like the metal guard
This would be an absolutely terrible idea for an evolution in his character. I wouldn't mind much him unwillingly working for them due to Opal, but even that is very weak since their relationship on screen has also been weak and ineffective. The motivation isn't believable to the audience.

That arc wouldn't feel earned with his character. I fear the writers abuse the time skip and try to pull some wonky character shit. Nothing this extreme though. But yeah, time skips can either be used really effectively or can be mishandled and be a crutch for lazy writers.
Edit: I agree it will be more like a dilemma where he's become apart of the metal clan military during the time skip and has become deeply involved with Opals family. But when all hell breaks loose and the army splits and pushes for power, he'll be caught in the crossfire. I could see it tearing him and Opal apart. But no way will he become evil. At best you might get him sympathizing with the army at first assuming their intentions are well. But he'll ultimately come back to team Avatar.
