So incredibly shitty...

Basically like TP, which was underwhelming. I was expecting more in that front, I don't know why bother then, I'd rather take the hub design from SS.[/QUOTE]

Oh god it begins!

2015 - The year Skyward Sword becomes the greatest Zelda game.

some people like some zelda games, some people like other zelda games

"zelda cycle"

I assumed this thread was for reactions of any sort, not just positive.

I'm honestly baffled by how bad this reveal was. seriously, they emphasized waypoints. WAYPOINTS. they could have reshown the first Oblivion trailer and it would have been more impactful. I don't understand what people are getting hyped about based on what they saw in that footage.

It's absolutely 100% fine that you don't get what people are hyped about, we can't all like the same things. If you're not excited for the game that's okay and you can state that all you want, but is the "LOL Nintendo fans" type stuff you're posting in addition to that really necessary?

Milking?

Here are the main line Zelda games on consoles and their release dates.

1986: Zelda - NES
1987: Adventures of Link - NES
1991: A Link to the Past - SNES
1998: Ocarina of Time - N64
2000: Majora's Mask - N64
2002: Wind Waker - Gamecube
2006: Twilight Princess - Wii
2011: Skyward Sword - Wii
2015: Zelda U - Wii U

That will be 9 Zelda games on home consoles in 29 years when Zelda U is released. The last new Zelda game on a console was 2011.

They release 1 to 2 Zelda's per generation on consoles.

Hell, add in the handheld games and it's still not that bad

1986: Zelda - NES
1987: Adventures of Link - NES
1991: A Link to the Past - SNES
1993: Link's Awakening - GB
1998: Ocarina of Time - N64
2000: Majora's Mask - N64
2001: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons
2002: Wind Waker - Gamecube
2004: Four Swords Adventures
2004: The Minish Cap
2006: Twilight Princess - Wii
2007: Phantom Hourglass
2009: Spirit Tracks
2011: Skyward Sword - Wii
2013: A Link Between Worlds
2015: Zelda U - Wii U

I left out remakes (like Link's Awakening DX, and Four Swords which was attached to Link to the Past on the GBA), and you forgot Four Swords Adventures

16 games in 29 years

This is exactly what 5-year-old me always wanted.

Since when has Hyrule had a beach? If anything, this is Termina or Koholint

This is hyrule pangaea, duh. Before the tectonic plates shifted.

Oh shiiiit!!!!111 That looks amazing! Though I'm still not convinced they can make it look as good as the picture (kinda hard to tell how good looking the game is graphically since it's off-screen). Anyways, this will definitely be day 1, and it's awesome to get an updated confirmation that we're still getting it next year.

Edit: Just to make sure, this is the picture I'm talking about, though I think we all know that.

There's just no way the game will look this good.

Aonuma already said the game looks better than it did at E3

Hate the shoehorned tablet integration, hopefully its fully playable with pro controller. Also the terrain has got to get more npc looks pretty empty

I'm willing to be real money it'll be like WW HD and have all the motion stuff be completely optional, and give you the ability to play the whole game with the Pro pad.

Let's add a Loftwing descendant mount and get some air travel too.

Much like how Rito evolved from Zora, there's bound to be some sort of species evolution in the time lapse.

Some new enemies too, evolutions of past design with new mechanics.

When people are saying that negative opinions are trolling, yeah, I think it's fine to point out what IMO are glaring shortcomings of that reveal video.

I've been playing Zelda games since 1995. The way the franchise got milked after Ocarina didn't go unnoticed.

wow my absolute condolences. You have been missing probably the two best games ever made.

The game looks amazing, I dont know what people want, a town every 100 steps?

I am sure the overworld wont be as empty as twilight´s was. Not when the main focus of this Zelda is the open-worldness.

Just need confirmation on pro controller support, which in turn means no forced motion controls.

Rest is amazing.

"Horses don't usually run into trees."

You know this was really obvious but I never thought about it until it was said. Video game logic has gotten me used to horses catching on polygon seams and other bull shit and stopping.

Like I've said before that's perfectly fine. But once again why the "lol Nintendo fans" stuff? Do you really think that's mature way to post?

Out of everything posted on GAF every day, you're calling THAT out? Yes, I think it's funny how defensive some Nintendo fans are to any criticism.

Would be nice, especially if camera can be handled with right stick and not tilting. That said, I REALLY appreciate second-screen maps. So handy in the DS/3DS games.

Eh, looks alright. Big world, but empty. Combat and animation looks similar to all the Zeldas since Wind Waker.

I feel the series needs a bigger change than what i'm seeing.

The game likely needs to be done in about 10 months. Can we stop calling this "early" footage?

We don't know from what build this footage is....so yeah it is early footage.

Hell 3dWorld leveled up hardcore in like 6 months.

If it still looks like this the next time they show it..then panic.

and besides, it is off screen footage via stream.....like come on.

no, but past experience has prepared me for tedious fetch quests, bug hunts, or long travel time to get to an island that wasn't even worth it, so I don't want to jump to any conclusions.

Miyo mentioned insects, so you best be equipping that net and catching everything like it's your first time!

Btw, is the stamina/sprint bar gone? Maybe they'll make it an item in this one.

I think simplicity is the key, great gameplay and beautiful locations equals fun.
