Mark my words, this time around Link is a lone wanderer without a place to call home, just traversing the lands until he comes across his destiny. That would be neat and kind of explain his wanderer outfit and hood.

Sorry to see motion controls probably not making a return for this game, especially after Miyamoto's comments from back when SS released, saying he doesn't think they could go back to regular sword combat.
But if it was a tradeoff between that and an open world, I'm ok with it.
I really, really hope so.Link is righ-handed in this game. This has to mean motion-control will at least be an option.
So, at the end he willWhat if this is the Hero of Time when he returned to Hyrule years after defeating Majora?
Lets hope it. New to this land, just arriving with Epona, a tent and a fishing rod. Nothing else.
(The Sword is then given you by an old man in a cave)

I thought that Link never went back to Hyrule, and that is why the lands were flooded?

This is a new Link.
The lake hylia part kind of blew my mind. It might put the game much closer to twilight princess than I thought, in terms of chronology.
But I didn't mark death mountain - we don't even see it here. I just marked another mountain. Death Mountain is waaaay to the north.
720p60 I can dream.
This is Nintendo. There is a trick.
If motion controls is an option, I hope players using standard controls will still be able to swing the sword in precise directions, maybe by flicking the right stick while Z-targeting? It's not like anyone is going to use it for camera controls when doing that anyway.

It most definetly is 720/30 with V-sync on.
Some of it is 1440p. You can´t apply this logic this time. No way this is going to be 1080/xx.
What materials is 1440p?
I didn't realize I was in the minority when it came to motion controls,
Yeah.. its reasonable to believe this will be 720/30
Resolution and framerate suffer a lot in open world games.
I just found this pic:
Imagine how beautiful night time would be.
Just adding to the Hyrule geographical study...
EDIT: Actually I think Link is a bit further to the South-East.
Not sure, but I believe it says that the game is a work in progress. Can someone here translate what the text says in the bottom right corner at the start of this video.

The Splatoon screens were 1440p, for some reason. The Zelda screens were 1080p.
So if the Hyrule Warriors inspiration stuff is true, I think the overworld is gonna be a lot more lively than we think.

You mean like having things happen even when Link isn't there? Wasn't a huge part of MM the fact that scripted events were running whether you were there or not?

A personal favorite of mine would be the story between OoT and Wind Waker, where hyrule gets flooded/destroyed in the end, just because I think it's such an important/interesting periode that has only been referenced. With Wind Waker HD on WiiU this could make a coherent back to back zelda experience.
It would be interesting to see what the state of the world was like during that era but it's not doable. The reason why the world was flooded was. That really takes it out of the running.because there was no Link to fight
Things happen while you're not there in portions of a OoT/WW where time flows. Jogger in hyrule field in OoT. Ghost ship in WW.
Not much, but it was something. Weirdly enough, I don't think anything happened on its own in Twilight princess, despire hyrule field et al having time flow normally.
I certainly expect that wildlife will be affected by day/night. Hopefully NPCs have paths they travel, too. Especially some sort of shopkeeper (while I love you, beedle, please don't be in this one, you felt SO out of place in skyward sword).
I guess at least some events will be related to the time.. otherwise, they could just show time like in OoT.And the fact that the clock is displayed at all times points to that. Why else would the game WANT you to know what time it is?
Sweet! Watching it now.
I really hope the next footage we get has some clear music so that I can get a taste of how the soundtrack is shaping up. Also looking forward to some dungeon footage. Guys, I'm genuinely convinced that EAD may well be making the best open world game ever, perhaps the best game ever. My hype is in overload and I'm riding it to the moon with nothing but a Wii U gamepad. Roaming bosses, random events, hidden secrets, plenty of things to do in the overworld, an in-game time system that works on hours, 60 frames.
This is going to be something special, my friends.
Any theories on where in time line this might be taking place?![]()
Just had to share. I wasn't far from this when I saw it lol. Guy freaks out when Reggie shows off the goods.

You're overhyping yourself with nonsense. The "best" open world or overall game stuff is meaningless because it's entirely subjective anyway and you will spend hours arguing with people who prefer other games and then there's the simple fact that the game won't be 60fps.
Only idiots do that.
