In a way, this is more Zelda community thread than the actual Zelda community thread. ^_^
Why don't we just have a bunch of items that can be combined with arrows, materials and stuff.Yeah but then you'd have to use up both bombs and arrows. I think it would be cooler if just got explosive arrows that used up arrows.
Regular bombs are boring anyway.
Probably not since bomb are a important that n Zelda.
Guys in preparation for this game, I want to beat all the major 3D zelda games that have come out. Incredibly, even though I have played games for more than 20 years, the only Zelda 3D game I have beat is Wind Waker.
So in which order should I play the games? I'm planning to get both Ocarina of Time of Majora's Mask for my New 3DS, replaying WindWaker for the WiiU and getting Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword as well.

Any game that you choose its going to be a masterpiece anyways, you won't find anything like 3D Zelda anywhere else, the 3DS games also have the best art direction on the system.Guys in preparation for this game, I want to beat all the major 3D zelda games that have come out. For Majora's Mask, I'd actually recommend you use the VC version on the Wii since MM3D fucks up some crucial mechanics. Or an emulator.
Give the people what they want!Aw HEELLL naw, no romance options.
I hope they stop sticking to the same conventions over and over in Zelda. The series has felt stale for a LONG time because of this.
Like let the new game use an entirely different item set.

If the only 3d Zelda you played was Wind Waker things from here will only get better.
If you want to play from the worst to the best I would recommend next SS, TP, MM and Oot.
This is a pretty good sequence.SS, Oot, TP, WW again, and then MM.

lolololol
Zelda U will top all the lists anyway.

What kind of modern Zelda game would it be if Link didn't have his harem.
who cares he always ends up with no one or Zelda, HW was the perfect opportunity to mix things up.Its technically true, link has always had an actual harem since OoT which was when nintendo wanted to have a dating sim, ever since there has been atleast 2+ girls that wants link's dick
I love SS, but really? Majora's Mask is the last one? I would place it 2nd.

Weird to see this thread bumped all the time. Is it like the unofficial Zelda community OT?
We always play with people's heart by bumping this thread.
It's March, so not much longer now until E3. Can't believe it was shown almost a year ago already. I'm just excited to find out what it's going to be called, what the theme of the game is, etc.

Count me in with this list even though I have TP on top of SS. I still consider MM the black sheep of the 3D Zeldas. It's kind of a sloppier game than the rest.Best to worst would be SS, TP, OOT, WW, MM.
I'm with you. I get excited just thinking about how the overworld theme will be. I wonder if they will make just one Hyrule Field theme given the map size. Maybe some variation of the main theme depending on the area you are.
The "gameplay theme" is probably what I'm most curious about. I loved ALBW's; I thought it was extremely clever and well used.
ALBW is a damn solid game, but I think it's unfortunately kind of forgettable. I really enjoyed playing it and it had some standout elements though. Something about the story and how quickly you can get through it sort of came together to make it a kind of passing experience for me.
He can play majoras mask 3D all he wants. He said only beat windwaker so its pretty much new to him.I implore you not to ignore the 2D games. They're equally good and in most cases better. ALTTP, LA DX, OoA/OoS are well worth checking out and are easily the top 3 Zelda games. Minish Cap is aight as well.
Anyway for the 3D games, I recommend you simply play them in order. For Ocarina of Time the 3DS version is alright.

WWHD is the definitive version of that game so you're all good there.
With Twilight Princess you're better off playing the GCN version so you can use buttons for combat and stuff.
Skyward Sword is only on the Wii so you have no choice. Those visuals are BEGGING to be viewed in HD though, so if you have Dolphin give it a chance. I can't connect my wiimote to my PC so I never got the chance to try.
Now of course this is just my opinion, but the quality of the 3d games goes down quite a bit starting with Wind Waker, so prepare yourself!
I NEED to hear Zelda U's main theme like yesterday! I'm so excited to finally be able to hear it at E3! I think it gives a good impression of the overall atmosphere of the game itself. I LOVED Skyward Sword's main theme, so I have no worries that this one will deliver as well.
Well, I was referring specifically to the ability to become a painting and walk along the walls.
This isn't aimed at you specifically, but I always find it interesting when I see people complain that ALBW was too short, too easy, too simplistic, whatever, given that it's literally LttP2, and that's what LttP was. I'll get concerned when a Zelda game not intended as a close sequel feels overly simplistic.
So what kind of items are people thinking about that could shake things up a bit? I loved the beetle and that Gust Bellows(though it appeared once before in a hand held game right?) TP gave us the ball n' chain and the spinner which was criminally under used. I really can't think of anything to be honest. What can be used partially for combat and partially to cross wild terrain?
Skyward's soundtrack period was something else. It was a really huge score with a lot of themes, and that boss theme that begins with the four note "you found something" motif was excellent. I really hope Mahito Yokota is on duty again; he did the soundtracks for both Mario Galaxy games, Skyward, Captain Toad, etc. Dude is a magician.
I want to see something like the Rock Feather in a 3D Zelda. At least something that can grant Link the ability to jump high. The 3D Zeldas always feature some type of light platforming but they don't go further than Link's tiny hop. You're usually relegated to crossing in between two shifting parallel blocks. Some of the 2D games actually go really far in this area designing entire dungeons around an item that can make Link jump. I can imagine some pretty cool ideas springing forth from a character that can jump high. Plus, it's one step closer to Link adopting ninja hood which I've always secretly wanted. So what kind of items are people thinking about that could shake things up a bit? Yeah, I know what you was referring to and I agree completely, that element was very very cool. I just kind of kept going into my thoughts on the game. I really liked it, I guess I was just trying to say that I thought that it lacked something, soul perhaps. Like you just kind of blow your way through the game pretty quickly and there's not much else to really say about it. But for what it is it was very well made and tightly designed. My favorite aspect of the game was how downright creepy some of those dungeon themes were.
Fighting Koloktos for the first time was amazing for me because my siblings were watching at the time. I was struggling a little because I hadn't quite figured out the timing, and then heand everyone in the room screamed simultaneously. It was hilarious.stood up
I hear this so often and I don't understand why. No one ever quantifies what they mean by "soul". I mean, the characters and setting are on the same level of quirk as links awakening. The game had motifs and unique one-shot characters. I liked it, but I guess I can imagine someone not doing so. But I can think of games that I don't like that are still unique and have a earnestness to them.
