LEGO Dimensions |OT| Not Lost Dimensions

How is the Scooby Doo pack for someone who generally thinks everything Hanna-Barbera made was garbage? I've always liked the spooky theme of Scooby, but god damn, the cheesy "humor" and laugh tracks ruined it.

Is there a good guide to follow on the best fun packs to purchase? I currently own all of the level packs, the Scooby team pack, the witch fun pack, and the cyborg fun pack? With the Best Buy sell going on I'm thinking of purchasing some additional fun packs ($6 with GCU). Any recommendations?

I don't think it's for you, I think it's got canned laughter and it is kind of goofy.

What's Homer's abilities like? Useful in the story? Seriously considering The Simpsons Level Pack as it's £22 on amazon at the moment. My kit's coming Thursday and to start off I've got the starter pack, BTTF and Doctor Who level packs.

I LOVE the Simpson's stuff - it's colorful and familiar. Bart not being voiced sucks, but Homer is fun as all get out to use. His usefulness in the story is hard the judge since the games aren't hard, but I control him almost exclusively because he's just charming and fun (also his voiced commentary makes me laugh).

I've seen a lot of people mention that Bart isn't voiced but what about Krusty? Does anyone have him and know if he's voiced?

The distribution of sets in stores seems really spotty. I've seen displays most places, but I've yet to see any Doctor Who stuff physically in any store. Do we have any indication of sales numbers yet?

In the US there are a few situations:
-Most retailers has been doing different offers ($10 discounts, buy one get one free/50% off, etc) on Level Packs since launch, to move unsold stock, drive sales; but at the result of later releases like Doctor Who receiving smaller shipments, and older ones like Jurassic World still being sold out.

-Recently, Gamestop put Fun Packs at $7.50, Amazon and Best Buy followed suit. Amazon had a "thing" on which you could get the Fun Packs for $2.50 because when they price matched Gamestop, they forgot an offer they had of $5 off.

At the moment, is just the aftermatch of the holidays and different offers. In a week or two, we should know if things will improve.

I've only got two more trophies to get for the plat!

I need to finish the Portal level in under 25 minutes, and save up a million studs to buy that chrome paint job.

Where in the world are you?

The Doctor Who set was never offically released here in Switzerland, and the Ghostbusters level is delayed until March.

I read somewhere that the Portal one was only do-able by saving and quitting then reloading each save.

So I just snagged the Wii U version for $26. Was waiting on PS4 but couldn't give up the deal. Worth it?

It's the least powerful version and has a few bugs from what I have read, but I imagine playing it where you're comfortable is going to give you the best experience. If I'm being honest, given the choice, I'd go PS4 over Wii U. But that's a really great price for the starter pack. I'd nothing else, maybe you can find just the PS4 disc for cheap?

No, it can be done legit (and that's how I did so). I don't remember exactly how close it was - and it took me two or three tries - but I did it as intended.

Have they really not patched that out yet? They've been pretty good about breaking exploits in other LEGO games.

Yeah I've actually planned it out. Gonna snag the PS4 disc from Gamestop used, since the Wii U game will net me an $11 trade in credit.

Anyone recall the best level or hub world to grind studs on? I haven't actually bought that multiplier red brick because I didn't realise that also costs a million studs, I'd rather spend all that on the chrome paint job.

Edit: doesn't matter, I've answered my own question.

If you have the Simpsons Level Pack (Mysterious Voyage of Homer), you can get about a half million with the 2X multiplier in one run through that level.

Which fun packs are really worth getting to try and complete the game at 100%? I bought the Wicked Witch and Bart. I was considering Krusty. Then there is Wonder Woman and Cyborg whom I'd like to get since I'm a DC fan. I'm trying to stockpile with this BBY $6.00 (GCU) sale. Any thoughts would be awesome!!!!

Where in the world are you?

United States, I've looked in stores around northern California, New York, and Washington DC. All the stores seem similar. It's just weird to me that I haven't seen the Doctor Who sets in person on the shelf anywhere.

And I'm just a sales numbers kinda guy and am curious how this is doing compared to things like Disney Infinity.

Just finished the Ninjago campaign event and... well the production values are really high and it's pretty fun BUT, i can't help but think how pretty much every level in the story mode so far has been one boss fight after another which does seem to get a little repetitive frankly... Will it keep going like this or will there also be some more "traditional" levels like in the other Lego games? Or do i need to look toward the hub worlds or the level packs for that instead?

I see plenty of them. Just checking Best Buy's stock shows inventory in all of my nearby stores.

It is quite boss heavy near the start, that Ninjago pack was especially bad cos it was three in a row wasn't it? The rest of the levels do also feature boss fights, but just one at the end of each level, all except the Midway Arcade level.

Luckily they're all mostly fun and unexpected, you can't normally guess who's going to turn up. The main issue I had was that the way you had to fight the bosses became quite repetitive and too obvious by the end. They really milk the 5 or so puzzle types they have.

Son of a bitch, they must have fixed that by the time I got in there. I ordered three of the Cyberman Fun Packs at the $7.50 price but if they had been $2.50 each I woulda bought like ten of them or something.

Seconded. I am currently watching it for the first time and it's great! Also a nice touch how the Shaggy voice actor seems to be the same in Dimensions :) (or they just picked a couple lines from the show, can't tell)

Voice actor for that series and all Shaggy appearances afterward is the same guy that played him in the 2 live action movies.

Just got done with the campaign Dr Who level and... that was pretty epic!! (Also because it wasn't boss fight after boss fight but also some classic level design, puzzles etc. )

Especially loved that space graveyard part.... The only negative (which isn't one for some i imagine) was that we found it overly LONG as we were expecting a half hour affair and by the end it took us more than an hour to do everything and finish off that last boss ugh.

I just got the platinum trophy earlier. I think I'm done with the game now for a while.

My final thoughts are is that it's a very enjoyable, hilarious and interesting game, which unfortunately does get a little repetitive towards the end.

I've played two level packs now and I have to say I'm pretty shocked and disappointed that they only took me about 40 minutes each to complete.

This obviously leaves me with the hub worlds. They're certainly nice to look at, and I enjoy their individual themes, but if I'm going to be honest I find them pretty boring. I'm not a completionist so I'm not going after all the gold bricks, I don't see the point, although half of them are locked behind other characters abilities anyway. This just leaves me with some dull races made more annoying by the rubbish batmobile controls, and some fetch quests/beat some people up quests which aren't all that interesting.

Basically it's completely put me off buying any more level packs in the future, especially at the price they are now. I refuse to pay more than £15 for a 40 minute level, especially if I'm not interested in the hub world stuff. It's a shame cos I'd love to play another level of the Ghostbusters and Midway Arcade, but not at those shocking prices. Obviously I'm going to keep my portal as I'm interested to see what's involved in their supposed 3 year plan.

Picked up some Fun Packs because getting them for $6 each at Best Buy was just too good to pass up. Wanted Emmet but the characters had been picked pretty clean already, which kind of surprised me since I wasn't sure how well this game was doing.

So now I've got, from earlier stuff and this:

- Back to the Future pack
- Portal pack
- Doctor Who pack
- Wonder Woman
- Unikitty
- Legolas
- Benny
- Bart Simpson

Which is a pretty solid group so far.

Now I just need to get uh. The game itself. So I can use all this stuff. Hoping for a good sale next paycheck lol

I can't find the LEGO Portal pack anywhere in the UK. Anyone know when to expect more stock?

They're still available on Amazon, but they're not cheap. Over the past few weeks I've only spotted one rogue copy, and that was in an Asda store, so you might have some random luck in a supermarket somewhere?

I went to Target last night and they had the Joker/Harley Quinn team pack and Sensei Wu out early, hanging on correctly labeled pegs.

holy shit, just for the update? I remember downloading entire games that weren't this big back on PS3 etc. :(

If I'm not mistaken, each update has the entire hub world and level from the upcoming level packs.
