I enjoy it a lot. There are some different kinds of considerations, though.
Is it a good value compared to other AAA games? Yes and no. The base game has a lot of content, but once you start adding the physical "DLC," the cost starts to balloon.
Is it a good value compared to other LEGO games? I would say definitely no here. If you like LEGO games and there are other good ones out there that you haven't played yet. I would get those first. Most of the LEGO games are pretty similar and LEGO dimensions is not really different in that regard.
Is it a good value compared to other toys to life games? Yes. I think it is by far the best toys to life game out there both in terms of gameplay as well as post release support.
Overall, I don't think the the expansion packs are quite worth the cost. The LEGO sets take as long to build as a polybag and the add on levels are generally shorter than other forms of DLC. It's the combination of the two that drives the price higher and it's fair if you combine both of those experiences, but it doesn't always feel like a good value.
I think Fun packs are the best value at 12 bucks and open up the open world adventure worlds. Level packs give you an extra mini model, and a story level for more than twice the price (and the difference in quality between the story levels can be pretty stark).
You know, the thing is, I would probably enjoy this and buy different packs when there's a buy 1 get 1 deal (like there currently is on Target). I don't think if I got this that I would be buying packs left and right especially when there's others games I could play in the meanwhile and then come back to the game later on if I decide to pick up a pack again. It seems supported really well, it's just that this game seems really fun and that's kind of rare for a T-2-L game.
