I think an engagement band would be really cute. I know that that's probably basically what you'd have on your wedding day, but I'm pretty traditional, so I like the idea of receiving/wearing a ring. I'd then get it engraved or get a second band for the wedding day. I think this is what I'd want.
If you want to be more creative, if your bear is comfortable with it, I think a bracelet could be really nice (I personally like them) because it seems more momentous than a watch. I might get it engraved.
Thinking more about the watch idea, I could also see giving someone a stopped watch that is perhaps set to a significant time. I'd suggest either doing the time of the proposal or some time that's significant from earlier in the relationship. Random idea: set the watch such that the hour, minute, and second hands correspond to the number of years, months, and days, respectively, that you two have been together; if it has a date feature, you could make that the month/day you met or the date of the proposal.
That last suggestion might be too sappy for some people, so feel free to ignore my romantic delusions. It could also just be a watch.

Engagement basically is a promise of getting married. I find it really charming. You could get bracelets and engrave something special for you both. (Place you guys first met, the date, some special word or some design etc)

Today was quite something. First day at the community health clinic, and we had a lot of people come in to get tested. It was a place packed of different people and then were some really hot guys. I usually become really shy and nervous around so many good looking guys (inferiority complex much lol). I feel like the odd one there! lol. It's a weird feeling, and somewhat hard to explain. However I have to do a lot of talking and answering questions. I had to fake confidence and have some presence while I was there.
I guess I just had to fake it till I made it, lol. I don't always get like this except when I'm around so many good looking guys... It's like high school all over again. I pretended to have confidence, talk to the really hot guys, and pretend that I'm an okay presentable guy.

Woman are more willing to get tested and ask about information. That's very interesting.

Ring was a definite for us; my partner hinted about what he wanted plenty of times, hah. I had it custom made by a woman here in Seattle: faceted band with an inlay black diamond. Maybe we'll add more diamonds over the years? Haven't really thought that far ahead!
I've never seen an engagement watch before, but it could be nice. All depends on the person and what they'd (hopefully) be most comfortable with.

How did you decide to have non-identical rings and for yours to be the band and for his to have the ring?
I always figured I'd have identical rings or rings that are the same design but slightly different (e.g. different stones, light/dark, etc.) if I ever get married.
