Dump him.

lol, I wasn't with him when I saw Britney's show a while back. At least Mariah can sing. He would've hated Britney. I had to get shit-faced before I started having a good time watching Britney sort of shamble around the stage.

guys I think im a sociopath

i never understood the hatred of pop. its so diverse. i do understand the dislike of country and rap music though because they are basically the opposite corners of the music spectrum
He's definitely one of those real music™ only types. I can tell he secretly stans Ke¢ha (and a few others) though.

How did you decide to have non-identical rings and for yours to be the band and for his to have the ring?

Because he's the lady in the relationship, duh ;) #howstraightpeoplethinkitworks

Seriously, though, he said he wanted a black diamond, and I'm not usually one for jewelry on my hands so I opted for the most subdued, unobtrusive choice.

Finally got tickets to Mariah's Vegas residency (I live in Vegas) for the 20th. Her last show until sometime in June I think. So excited....to drag my boyfriend to it. He hates pop music, should be fun.

Why not go alone? It's no fun if he's miserable there.

Why do you think that?

Stop looking at butts.

jk, what makes you say that?

you're just trying to give me a tag Seath
but anyway, this might take a few posts to explain but i'll try
well, today at school at in English class we had a "socratic seminar" on some book, it's irrelevant. basically we, as a class, got into a circle to basically give our inputs on 10 discussion questions (for those who were up last night, that's what i was up late working on.) the questions were to be answered on paper before class. I didn't really care about the assignment, i was up late solely because i put off doing it for the longest. so here's the point. As a bonus, the class would ballot vote for which student gave the best answers and that student would receive extra points. well at some point, I overheard some students talking about voting for me and at the moment i wanted to win. i started to laugh in my head and then out loud for a short spell. I didn't care about the points or the attention. i just wanted the whole class to vote me and know im the best. why did i want that? this isn't at all the first instance i felt this way.

Haha, I was trying to figure out a way to phrase that question that didn't sound exactly like #howstraightpeoplethinkitworks.

That makes sense. I guess I might end up with something similar if my future husband (*fingers crossed* *starts crying and eating cartons of ice cream*) has tastes different from my own. Freedom from tradition, woo!

Wanting to win doesn't make you a sociopath.

Why does that make you a sociopath?

it wasn't winning that i was infatuated with. i didn't even vote for myself. it was thought of the class claiming me to smarter than the rest of them. its like i just wanted them to say i was better than them even if it meant getting recognition I didn't deserve. just for the record, i have a lot of respect for some of the people in my class

Because making each other miserable is the cornerstone of any healthy relationship. I also hate doing stuff alone and none of the people I would ask to see a show with me will admit how great pop is. :'(

That still doesn't make you a sociopath. Everyone wants to be thought of as the best even if they don't necessarily deserve it.

I had to go to a Sufjan Stevens concert on my own because nobody I know likes him including my bf. It was weird, but still preferable to dragging him to the concert although I've done similar things before.

Thought this was going to about being so angry with someone you wanted to assault/murder them, not wanting to be perceived as being the best. High competitive drive alone does not sociopathy make.

Nah you're fine. We all have little day dreams of being the best. No biggie. I've already won American Idol 2 years in a row.

Spectre just never understands.

That movie was such a disappointment.

It sounds like you believe something was off, and I think there's a chance you won't be able to fully communicate that with us. Unfortunately, I don't think we can properly help you identify if something is wrong or not, especially if you think this is a genuine concern and not paranoia about a single instance of unusual behavior.

If you genuinely think that something is odd about your behavior, I think you should talk to a school counselor or doctor about it to get more insight. Don't bother looking up symptoms online, since more often than not it's very easy to be convinced based on symptom lists that one is mentally ill. Seriously. I'd say that if you have concerns over your behavior, a professional can help you identify the source(s). I'm sure people in here can offer support and advice on how to seek assistance.

And, of course, seeking help doesn't mean that something is wrong. I'm just going to trust your intuition that something was off about your behavior. This could be indicative of a condition or something else unrelated and temporary. Either way, it never hurts to talk to someone. :)

So, I recommend thinking about it and deciding whether you're worried about "nothing" or if you genuinely believe something could be currently wrong, and if it's the latter, talk to people who can help you figure out what that is. Don't bother trying to diagnose yourself.

EDIT: It sounds like you decided it was nothing, so ignore the above.

thanks guys for the introspect. i suppose its nothing. just wondering if that was an abnormal way to think

yea like i said earlier, this is isn't the first time i felt this way and this probably isn't the best example of what im trying to explain, it was just the most recent one which is why i felt like bringing it up. i tend to feel more "bothered" when my esteem takes a large hit and i start to get really paranoid and i wonder a lot of things. I don't feel like that now and hadn't for a while but some of the symptoms of being in that depression show their face every once in a while.
thanks kirby, someone should mod your ass

Nah. I'm not a professional, but I'm preeetty sure how you feel about such thoughts is more instructive than having the thoughts themselves. You came onto lettersgaf worried you were a sociopath. Sociopaths don't do that. They don't give a shit and just take advantage of people.

Yikes, I just read that a new study links Alzheimer's to a specific region of the brain, which is a region that apparently gets damaged when people don't sleep enough and can already show signs in early adulthood. Given that I was known for years for how little sleep I got, I think I'm going to die. Alzheimer's/memory loss/brain damage is actually one of my biggest fears regarding aging. I hope a treatment is found soon...

thanks kirby, someone should mod your ass

I don't think implants would be a good look for me. :p

If you need coffee on the go for a dollar it's hard to beat.

Assuming it IS that, otherwise fuck them.
I hear the advertisement for their coffee in English and Korean as I walk past a McDonald's at least twice a day coming to and from work.

It's still a dollar in Korea.

I guess LA and Orange counties just suck in that regard. No problem finding it for a buck in San Diego county, but you're lucky (or old, literally) to find a place that will let you get it for a dollar or less for the smallest.

Well, it also helps that the dollar is ridiculously strong right now. I'm going to get some bibimbap for dinner again, and it'll cost me under $5 due to current exchange rates... and it comes with soup, barley tea, and side dishes. That bibimbap alone would cost me $12 back in Florida, the side items would likely increase my bill by $8, and I'd have to pay gratuity. Yesterday, I had Indian food for $10, and I barely could finish it. That meal would have cost me $30-$40 in the US.

I'm eating like a king out here, it's crazy. Shame about the ramping tensions with North Korea and China though.

The boy and I watched Death Becomes Her last night. He'd never seen it and I knew he'd love it.

It's just so fabulous! The scene where
Meryl Streep shoots Goldie Hawn in the stomach reduces me to nothing every time

Yeah, I wish we had prices like that here, I'd definitely be more experimental, heh. Though I can just be cheap at times, given the right holes in walls can give really good value still, or at least enough to be full around half way through (usually Mexican places.)

I swear to fucking god, nothing makes me madder than "I respect gays even though I disagree with them", "I support gays but not the lifestyle", or "I hate the sin, not the sinner."

Its fucking bullshit doublespeak.

Disagree with what? That homosexuality isn't a choice? That they should be free to express their love? What would you prefer, celibacy or living a lie?

What the fuck is the gay lifestyle? This isn't a fucking porno or movie. Not every gay dude is going around visiting every bathhouse or gloryhole. And even in that case, there are certainly promiscuous straight people. Why single out gays there?

And finally, separating the sin from the sinner isn't possible for 99.99% of humans. Sorry, you're fucking lying if you say you hate the sin but love the sinner. Bull fucking shit.
I think firefighters should have the right to make money, but I disagree with them. God didn't create so much of this world to be flammable if he didn't intend for it to be consumed in a firestorm. I know firefighters don't think they're hurting anyone when they save people, property, and the environment, but who are they to go against what's natural? Fire is NATURAL.

I love firefighters but I loathe and despise firefighting. It's a sick and spiteful contradiction of God's will.

I'm sorry if some posters think I'm prejudiced for speaking the truth. I didn't make nature this way, God did.

I have just never heard someone refer to their significant other or whatever as "the boy". That sounds like something you'd call your apprentice or something. :p

Huh, that's interesting. I've heard it used for significant others. Same with "the girl."

I've noticed a lot of guys in the UK tend to refer to boyfriends as the boy. My last long term relationship was with an older guy, so I don't think I did it.

Also, I like how most of you guys are discussing engagements and other serious adult stuff and I'm just here thinking about getting together with a friend in the near future to make our own Yarny characters from the Unravel game and take photos of them in the most random places we can think of in London. I'm such a man-child.

How interesting it must be to know people that would be so open to do goofy stuff like that with you.

Marriage and goofy fun aren't mutually exclusive. Marriage material will do this kind of stuff with you. For the rest of your life.

Edit: At work so I can't do top of the page naughtiness.

Yeah, I prefer McDonald's coffee over the regular coffee at Starbucks. Plus, if I have some time to kill on my MacBook, I'll go there since there is always space. Starbucks is always packed.

I'll add a few suggestions to the already excellent ones. I can't say these are super experimental, but more on the unconventional side. You're pretty young, right? So I'm sure you probably haven't heard of a lot of these.

The Album Leaf - In A Safe Place
mum - Finally We Are No One
Air France - No Way Down EP
SOPHIE - Product
iamamiwhoami - kin
Baths - Obsidian
Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
Studio - Yearbook 1

Oops, I meant to respond to you.

I was gonna say, was it the Age of Adz tour? I also went alone on that tour but had a blast. Such a good show. Sufjan is my bae.
No I didn't get to go to that one. It was for Carrie and Lowell. It was actually a beautiful and emotional show. A great concert for being alone because it encouraged introspection and you got to think about how we're all going to die!

I wish I had gone to the Carrie and Lowell tour. But I did get to see him at a 300 person venue right before Age of Adz, which was by far one of the most intimate shows I've been to, outside of a FKA Twigs show where it was literally like 100 people.
